It seems too small to me. The comics I read showed him as bigger than Spidey. The Vulcan bod with ball jointed waist and diaphragm would've been great. He's a flexible agile killer.
He needed his grabbing/slashing hands with the finger spikes.
Looks like you can probably use Negative suit Spidey hand accessories with him...

Hope so. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for this figure. Was really looking forward to this figure too. One of my most favorite Spidey characters and they finally were going to update him. Then they give us this. Sad, just sad.
The spider logo doesn't extend to back of the fig. I wonder if that is comic accurate or Hasbro laziness once again. The same is true with Target Antman where the black line in front doesn't extend to the back. Well at least the Antman fig has an awesome head sculpt, and I enjoy it. Hope you get it soon!
Back when Tarantula was introduced, the eyes of his mask were not large like Spider-Mans. They were smaller like that of Batman's mask. I'm guessing, in modern times, his look has changed? I personally would have preferred the smaller eyes. I would have preferred him having a black mask, but I don't hate the blue. I might add some black paint wash to it though so that the mask doesn't stand out with the design so much. Hmm. Maybe I'll just paint the front of the mask with some black shapes to reduce the eyes the way I like them. If I do, I'll try to find a way to show that to you, Xcorpeo. That is, if you'd be interested in the results. I often post customized action figure stuff on my twitter account. Not sure if UA-cam will allow the links here?
As always your reviews are spot-on, and laser precise! Couldn't agree with you more in regards to the figure! I would have loved another head sculpt, more hands, and a couple accessories. My thought is this: If Hasbro isn't going to include any extras, then they should at least give us a new, pinless body! We need to be getting more for our money, not less if Hasbro truly wants to compete with other action figure companies who are BURYING THEM in the accessories department. Give us SOMETHING to make us feel good about your product, Hasbro! A good sculpt is EXPECTED. We need more than just that! I mean, an extra set of black hands with pistol grip, and a couple of pistols would have added a lot.
Always appreciate your artist perspective. You're also right about the eyes. Generally in comics it's always the black with blue shading vs blue with black shading argument. In the end Tarantula's bandana turned out blue in figure form 😂 lastly I'm sure u can post links here, and I'll be sure to check out
@@xcorpeo Let's test that out. Here are some links to my custom resculpt of the Walgreens Thing figure. I wanted a more classic look with the bigger brow, and I don't like seeing Ben with Teeth. That's not really a classic Thing look. It's more modern, so I altered it all using apoxie sculpt:

If you removed the paint from the back of the hands,…the Walmart Exclusive Retro Vibranium Suited Black Panther hands are perfect
Thin Legends bodies are bland with no added things like belts, vest collars or arm bands depending on the costume. At the very least, another head a pair of hands on a MA figure should have been in there. The plastic red look mad cheap, too. You said it right, "zero effort"!
I really always wish I wouldn't need to be negative on a review but we all gotta have standards.
this is a cool looking tarantula figure despite the lack of accessories. it's all about the nostalgia after all. to me it's very accurate to the comic book version. it's a fun figure to play with. I'm so familiar to the la tarantula. it has a nice vibrant red color and black spider logo on it. the blue mask version the head sculpt. is nice. if it had the new pin less body retro Spidey mold it would have been the winner of the wave but its okey next to the rose figure because of the glorious eighties. Nostalgic look of those two figures. in the comic book way back then. i think the figure is buying. worth it's about time we have him. it could have been better. If it came with open hands but. it's not a deal breaker to me. its good figure. in my opinion.
