Delta MD-11 Safety Video

- This video set, is from Delta's MD-11 fleet. The VHS this came from was marked that it was made in 2001. It has the Spanish subtitles, because this aircraft was mainly used on long haul flights which at that time must have been to Latin American countries. The climb out video, is the 2nd portion of this video with its portion of advertising. I hope you enjoy the vid, and feel free to post comments.

Geez, odd how even things from 2001 like this video seem so old. I have seen ads from the late 90s and 2000s and even those sound classic.
Memories of flying in 1998-2001 from New Jersey to Montana to visit my Dad with my little brother. We felt so “independent and mature” during flights 😅
I think this safety video lasted until early 2007 when Delta changed their logo.

I remember this... Just started flying Delta, they just had gotten their 737-800 and I flew on PSP-ATL with them. Very cool!
I remember back when I watched this in the 90s and 2000s when going to see my grandma in San Diego. Such fond memories... (and a classic safety video) :)

This safety video debuted in 1999 , then the speaking intro/conclusion with the flight attendants wearing the new uniform was updated the next year.
That video is from the early 2000s delta had that livery came out in 2000 and they retired the MD-11 at the end of 2003
@MSS658 Unfortunately, I do not. I was fortunate enough to see this video come across eBay and I thought it would be cool to share it. The popping noise, comes from the fact that it was a VHS, and it probably was used many times before it got my hands on it.

They only portray that 2 show that adults should put on their own masks and then assist little kids and severely disabled passengers. I'm not so sure the kids r really all that dumb.
I remember seeing this video on a flight from Atlanta up to Boston back in 2004. Good times.

When Kat did the safety video, I thought she looked more like Taylor Swift than Angelina Jolie.
Once I saw the video after the actual safety video and the promo for Delta's SkyMiles program, I was like *coughshamelessplugcough*.
But I don't mean it in a mean way. It's not like me 2 be mean 2 ppl on purpose without a reason! The reason I said Delta should use Kat in a commercial is cuz, in the vids, she always seems so upbeat, perky, just what every flier wants their flight attendant 2 b! Do U think the rapping Southwest flight attendant reads what U write about HIM???!!!!! And do U think HE likes it????!!!!!
I do not know? I begin to like Kat more and more. I've seen all of her videos several time . But then she disappeared completely??? "Wonder why" Do you think she reader what we write about her? I'm sure that Kat and her friends read everything people write about her. But I think she read what you wrote about that person that you like, that the rapper was better than her, and without her safety video and her wag she is...........! I think you hurt her.
They only portray that cuz adults and older children who are able bodied and able minded are supposed 2 put on their own oxygen masks b4 helping children or disabled ppl. Maybe the kids aren't dumb in real life.

I'm going to study this video numerous times between now and my next flight. I'm just not quite sure my seatbelt fastening technique is up to snuff and I may not be ensuring my safety to the maximum level.

Ever wonder why the demo’s are shot in first or business class and why they only illuminate the emergency lights in the same cabin during the visual presentation?! 🤔 and isn’t it INTERESTING that for the instructions in Spanish, all they show is the safety card?! GEEEEE I WONDER WHY!!!

Delta can't do a safety video without Deltalina! Can they! She's pretty much the life of the video! I showed my mom the Delta safety videos (the one with Kat as the main voice and the 2 new ones), and she said she didn't think they were all that exciting (no offense, if ur Kat disguised as a guy). And I'd bet the rapping flight attendant (David Holmes) has read what u wrote about Kat and how u think she's better than him! I think u hurt his feelings.
yea.........neither did I! But I wouldn't believe it unless I heard it in the news or from an actual Delta employee (but I don't know anyone who works 4 Delta as far as I know).
I was born and raised in the Rochester, NY area, so I don't think Kat has ever flown here. We do have a commercial airport in Rochester, but it's a very small one, and the only airlines that fly out of here are United, Delta, US Airways, JetBlue, Air Canada, and Southwest (just came last month as the replacement 4 AirTran). The only types of planes that fly out of r airport r regionals and short-medium haul airliners (most of which have no safety video).

I agree with you 100% on everything you have said. If she's working on our flight I will always be happy and smiling all day every single day and I never go home I move into aviation

@PSNgregiskool Nope, time is not wasted. The safety demo is always shown just after the doors are closed and engines are being started and/or while the aircraft is taxiing. It is generally much longer than 5 minutes from the time the doors are closed till the aircraft reaches the runway.The aircraft does not just sit there idle while the safety demo is played.
I thought the finger waving FA was a redhead. And by the way, the finger waving FA's name is Katherine Lee (she goes by Kat, though), and her nickname is actually Deltalina, because someone thought she looked like Angelina Jolie. I think she actually looks more like Taylor Swift, though.
