  • @drwisdom1

I have been watching the ToC since 1979. Mr. Belmonte is the only bowler to ever win it four times because he is the best bowler in history. He is better than average when on TV. So winning it again should not be surprising.
The real reason Mr. Belmonte shouldn't have won the ToC is that traditionally the top five finishers make the show. But this year Fox decided to make a 16 level (17 bowlers) stepladder, which has never been done in history, so they could televise more shows. That allowed Mr. Belmonte to ascend into the top five when normally that wouldn't have been possible.

Agree to a certain extent, but also takes a lot of skill to keep winning. In the matches before Belmonte, many won one game and immediately lost the pocket the next. If Belmo's adjustments weren't perfect, I think he loses to Troup right after his first game.

I'm not a Belmo fan so let the bashing begin. 🙄
He showed us exactly who he was when he was younger... playing dirty with the bottle & all the other shady BS he did on Tour. The only difference now is that he has gotten smarter about it. Belmo is not genuine, but people won't see what they don't want to. Just watch his vlog. Better yet, listen to the answers when Kimberly Pressler asks fun facts about the guys on Tour. The one being interviewed will almost always mention something positive about a fellow bowler, but Belmo highlights himself every damn time.
The PBA hyped him from the beginning because of the 2-handed style & his insane carry. They needed Belmo in order to save the Tour and FOX jumped at the chance to profit. They've spent the past decade promoting & catering to Belmo while the Tour hung the other guys out to dry. There are so many incredible storylines within the PBA that never get told because it's always about Belmo.
I understand the guy is a talented bowler and I've come to appreciate two-handers. With that said, Belmo will never have the tricks or the touch that Simo does. It's ridiculous to compare him with any one-handed bowler, especially legends like Earl Anthony or Walter Ray. He's racked up a ton of titles, but he got the majority of them before he had fellow 2 handers to compete with. If you actually look back at many of the finals, his opponents did more to beat themselves than anything else. This year's TOC is a prime example.
I just think GOAT is a stretch & a disservice to the Hall of Famers...you just can't compare apples to oranges.

Ok, but the click bait title wasn't necessary :( Also it was not a 1.5% chance. Both because he used the lane knowledge, the calmer nerves etc, and because not every match is 50-50.

the title is probably why you clicked on it. I think he should keep doing these titles it gets clicks and views thats the point

@@CasualZer0 maybe you like being baited then. Most people dont like it. Clicks will come if the content is good and the title is tempting but not too false.

@@bowlingxp8345 it was his first video. I highly doubt he would of got the traction he did without it. In my opinion it was a decent video. And the reason plenty of youtubers do this is because it works. Its in the producers best interest to do this for the reason i previously mentioned

@@CasualZer0 i know, but it still isnt nice. It's a fine line between "an interesting title" and a "clickbait one". Channels have gone down the drain by too many clickbait tiles, so it's not like there is no downside to it.

Well he did and not by luck. He destroyed match play and is easily the best player. And I'm not for 2 handed players

Did you even watch the video or did you just comment on the title? Also, how can you be against two handed bowlers? Bowling is a simple sport. Roll ball, knock down pins. Being smart enough to realize you are more powerful, can produce more revolutions and create more space on the lanes with two hands isn't something you should be against.
