    Neals lyrics are awesome.
With the passing of Larry Norman, Neal Morse is now the quintesential Christian rock musician/statesman of our time.

Neal Morse should tour with other Christian bands like Mercy Me and Casting Crowns and whatnot. Give something for all us prog-fan Christians.

Actually Neal did some backmasking here, or on the other version of the temple of the living God. I tried reversing it and Neal is speaking some verses from Revelation about New Jerusalem, but it is recorded backwards. Not sure why he recorded it backwards, but hey. :)

Music is an artistic form and a creative expression. If an artist writes on Christian themes, that is his or her way of expressing something in their life/mind/soul. Please, give them permission to express.

And then after all, with our backs against the wall
We seek the temple of the living God.
And outside the gate the cripples sit and wait
To see the temple of the living God
To see the temple of the living God
    Suffer, trespass, stranger redeemed
    Leviticus 21:18
The blind, the lame, the flat nosed,
    superfluous
    Broken footed on burning sand
The Priest, the seed, the blood stained hand
The leper testifies and turns to dust
And then after all, with our backs against the wall
We seek the temple of the living God
And outside the gate the cripples sit and wait
To see the temple of the living God
To see the temple of the living God
Oblation, vows, the promise of faith
Atonement, the wine, oil and cakes
The sheep, the goats, acceptable in his eyes
The maimed, the blemished, the scurvy scabbed
The creeping things, the firstborn lamb
Avail his presence in the house of sacrifice
And then after all, with our backs against the wall
We seek the temple of the living God
And outside the gate the cripples sit and wait
To see the temple of the living God
To see the temple of the living God

@AR485 That's a good question. God invented music, but most "Christian" music I hear is lame top-40 pop format. And for pop, it's less interesting than secular pop. In fact, some of it is so bland and repetitive it makes me insane. But, there are other bands out there that lift Him up in more powerful ways. Check out Glass Hammer, ESPECIALLY their album "Lex Rex". There is hope.

now, i've quite gotten used to people arguing about religion underneath worship videos and christian rock and sometimes even mainstream rock, but here? and I thought prog fans were more mature than that. where did these arguments even come from, anyway? I don't get how people can get offended by some lyrics just because they contain messages you don't agree with. it's not like neal's christian lyrics are 'blasphemy' against some sort of 'atheist god' or something. why get so defensive?

the concept of the album is ridicule (not to say stupid) but the music is excellent.
