- What does it look like in the inside of a FedEx delivery truck? Today, I give you a tour of Fedex Courier truck and all the cool things it has inside it. Is driving the truck hard? No, It just takes a some practice and it becomes second nature. Does the truck have ac/air conditioning? Some of them due but usually they don't! Also, there is some delivering pov for you!

Nice, you have a built in fan. I ran a rural route and my Transit was a coffin when it was hot because the AC didn't work well and I had to keep the windows up to limit the dust.
This truck is soooo much nicer than any of my contractors. Be thankful

I hate those Panasonic scanners. I prefer the Zebra with the scan lense on top. Those little handles on the sides of the console release the engine cover.

How is the defensive driving test with the cones? I've driven a 17 foot box truck before but never had to swerve through cones. How was your experience?

i want to see how the app works on the phone, is it your own phone? also how do you know where you're going? How do you know which package to grab out of 300? I would have thought there would be some GPS system in there with a large screen.
When you drop something off, does it relay the info back to the route owner, or just fedex?
I prefer these trucks over the express trucks we use.

The vents do move to the side you just have to twist it

Its amazing how beat that truck is for only 29 thousand miles
the engines are rebuilt , the truck isn’t really new
They would have the new stirring wheel, and some upgrades from ford launching the E-series 2020 rebuilt

It’s nice that you have a radio and fan in your truck. I work for UPS and our trucks don’t have radio or a fan.
Damn that’s slave labor! Surprised they don’t install a heater with no off switch for the summer.
We don't have radios in our regular Express vehicles, but the rentals have them. FedEx Ground contractors own or lease their own, so they vary.

Hi there, I'm from Express in Canada. 👋 I deliver in the city and I once drove a W700 for 10 days while my regular Sprinter was in the shop. It was a workout driving the Frieghtliner W700 in the city. The heavy steering requires more effort and it's slow to accelerate and brake compared to the Sprinter 😅. Aside from the challenges of busy city traffic, trying to find parking, I find going into townhouse complexes can sometime be a death trap. The truck can hit low hanging roofline when turning or backing if the driver is not too careful. 😬
Regarding to Music, I bring my own Portable Bluetooth Speaker, Sony SRS-XB43, K-POP all day long .

Adjust your mirrors. You should be able to see the upper rear corner of the back of the truck in your flat mirror. And don't go into driveways.
Hey man I have as question! I have a choice between working for FedEx (contractor) and Amazon. Amazon gives benefits and FedEx does not however I have heard much better stories with FedEx. Which job do you think is better thanks!
Depends on the dsp for Amazon I actually quit Amazon cause they suck done it for 8 months they have ai cameras with a app called mentor in which it tracks your speed stop acceleration and cell phone use but that app is total garbage and dings you for stuff you haven’t even done

I’d say take the FedEx job. You have the potential to make more money than being an Amazon driver. But it could depend on the owner of the company and your state. But 9/10 Amazon DSP owners are greedy. FedEx Ground itself won’t give you their benefits, but your contractor will give you whatever they are partnered with. FedEx has a early start time, depending on the flow of the sort and how soon the trailers get in. While Amazon goes off their mega cycle schedule, meaning they will allow every single last minute order to be sorted so the customer can get their package the next day. This means late start times, letting their drivers start their first deliveries anywhere between 11:00 and 1:00, and just as soon as the heat index kicks in during the summer. Also, Amazon groups their stops together (one stop has 2 or more locations to deliver to), so if you are routed to have 180 stops with 375 packages, in reality you will finish with about 212 stops. FedEx doesn’t work like that, everything is routed how it should be. Some differences between these two companies are the size and weight of the packages, Amazon won’t give you anything more than 50lbs while FedEx will give you items maxed out to 150lbs. Amazon’s technology sucks, you’ll spend more time a day fidgeting with your rabbit device and the flex app than you will placing a box on a doorstep. If you want something will give you a chance to balance things out for life and school, go FedEx. You could be home by 2pm everyday and make $200 for working only 5 hours

only 29k miles on a Fedex Van? Jeez, I wanna buy one to somehow convert it to an rv.
It’s all hard city miles tho. Stopping and starting all day, not traveling very many miles. The trucks take a lot of abuse
The fedex trucks that go outbound to rural areas do 150-300 miles a day, I've put 20k miles on my truck since february.

Do you use GPS when you run your routes or do you memorize the streets and stops?
We have an option called "map view". It shows your entire route. Although navigation is needed for doing routes you aren't familiar with. He does different routes apparently, so I'm sure he has navigation. I do the same one every day. I needed navigation at first. After a while there isn't even a need to look at addresses lol. Very repetitive.
The scanner has navigation if you need it. Eventually you get to know Your town and don’t need it

I average 100 stops per day. Get to terminal at 9 and get home no later than 3:30… not to mention I live 45 mins away…
