The musical theme around 1:12 with you forklifting the Trackhawk engine had me thinking about you as kind of the Mad Scientist of the Junkyard 🤣 ...working your magic turning what some people regard as junk into works of art.
I don’t know Dave, I’m getting kinda of worried for you. SEMA 2022 is coming up fast! Do you think you have enough time to finish this car? I know a year and a half might be pushing you. 😅🤣😂🤣😅
Paint stripper I generally find works best on a degreased dry surface. You'd have to wash the blocks in dish soap or purple power, then let them dry, then try paint stripper
All the kids seeing Dave pull out the Engines: :D All the kids seeing Dave is as meticulous with cleaning up the engines as he was with cleaning up the car: :o ☹
Talk about chemicals that no longer work. I previously had some good paint stripper. It worked really well and actually stripped paint like it was supposed to. Get it on your skin and rush to the tap because it started burning. I ran out and I went and got the same brand again and now it doesn't remove anything but plastic paint. It's not even as good as paint thinners, so a waste of money even buying it. I don't know how these companies get away with selling products that don't do what they are supposed to do.
BGE block started life in 2014 for the RAM. Dodge adopted it for the Hellcat. 2018 all 6.4 started using the BGE block. So, if the 6.4 he has came from a vehicle older it would not be the BGE block, unless someone put it there. All BGE blocks are marked BGE for easy identification.
I would think Soda Blasting would clean the engines after they have been hot tanked, if it is degreased then I would think it would work good and not damage any machined surfaces.
Hey dave how about a hell cat wide body ute pick up made from a charger i sold my 2010 dodge charger he bought the kit from smith performance and turned it into a charger ute if you haven't seen them you should check them out i think they look awesome but ever seen a wide body one or even a hell cat one. Just a thought. You do great work love the channel
Did I just watch a guy clean out a burned engine for 15 minutes? YES, I absolutely did and I'm very happy. Did you use sodium hydroxide to clean it up?
@@Junkyard_Dave Never mind, I was being stupid as my mother...a Chemical Engineer...reminded me poignantly that it'll eat through living tissue and metal; especially aluminum parts. She recommended spray washing with boiling hot water and baking soda or any other strong degreaser...she and dad used this for a single cylinder engine. Not sure how it'll hold up on a V8.
I commented on Trevor's 2jz mustang video he was saying not the right gear ratio then not enough power. Suggested he got with you and hellcat swapped it..
155 days until SEMA. Starting to run out of time and still major parts of the build aren’t decided yet. Feels like there has been zero progress on this car since it got back to your house.
I’ll still give you the 89k for this ASAP cash or check from bank what ever u wanna do I have the money for sure not a issue what so ever I was gonna buy a red eye but I’ll buy yours for 10000% sure man
Good idea you're saving a lot of money reusing most of those parts.
Your dedication to this project is top notch I love watching it
The old hot dip stuff was mostly Sodium Hydroxide, Oakite Dynadet was the best. But it dissolved Aluminum

Dude congratulations, just found your channel on Odysee. Went there watching The salty cracker. I found you on that platform awesome spread the news
Try using dry ice to clean the blocks. It will remove everything!
Love to see a project in the future were you use the 2.9 litre V6 out of the alfa romeo giulia quadrifoglio
Time to build your own hot tank,
A good machine shop has an oven type thing to burn all the stuff off the block. Paint, burnt plastic, grime. It all burns off.

Hmmm this video never showed up in my list!! I found it on my own
Hey dave keep up the great content. Love the videos. When can we expect to see you dropping the 426 in the mag
highhorse and cnc motorsports do 426 stroker kits for the 5.7 to 6.4 gen III hemis anyway
Getting er done
My machinist only uses walnut shells to clean the engine parts because of the gas bead issues getting into the oil when the engine gets hot
I was waiting for this!!
Who is not loving these vids. ???
Well atleast you save some parts 😎👌🏼

Not the same blocks. Coolant passages were revised for the 6.2

Satisfying.

No does that work good?

Funny how the dodge block resembles the LS
IIRC, the LS was the inspiration to bring the 3rd gen Hemi into production.
@@GreenJeep1998 I could totally see that
Does the Trackhawk have the MDS, or were those block off plugs for where the solenoids go?
Dave, where is the salvageyard you work at located? Does the salvageyard have parts for Chevrolet Camaros and 2006 GMC Sierras? I’m serious for parts.
Id buy both those if the price was right lol. (Shipping to Canada would hurt though)
I commented on Trevor's 2jz mustang video he was saying not the right gear ratio then not enough power. Suggested he got with you and hellcat swapped it..
He can make way more power out of the 2jz if he actually tried to
Dave, what gloves do you wear when working on engines?
are you gone build a stocker or you putting all the stock stuff back in it ?
what song did you use at 5:54
I need someone help I would like to find a nice engine and transmission for my jeep Cherokee 2006. I’m lost and I need help. I’m in NYC
If the 6.4 block has BGE on the side it's the same.
Not the same block.
@@Welcometofacsistube As in the 6.4 block doesn't have the BGE on it?
Yes! 1
Changing the chemical made hot tanking completely useless. Just a waste of time and money.
Hell yeah brother
Is this car gonna be done this year or hell no????
It will be done when it is done and not a year sooner.
man trys washing and fails
Bead blast them?
