I know it's been several months since you posted on here but I just wanted to let you know that you're on someone's mind tonight. I'm truly hoping (and praying- please don't be offended) that you crawled right back on the wagon when you woke up after you posted about your slip up. Three years ago I messed up after being clean from H for twelve years. Everyone that knew I slipped up came down so hard on me; I got tired of hearing, "It should be easy for you after twelve years!" (Easy for me to get clean again- yeah right!! 🤬). I remember sitting with my boss (I'm a nurse, ironically; thank God pharmaceuticals have never appealed to me, so pushing a med cart full of Oxycontin and Dilaudid never really tempted me) But I remember sitting with my boss crying, telling her that actually being clean that long made it even harder to get clean again. She didn't understand why that would be and I struggled to explain myself. The only way I knew to say it was that if, after TWELVE YEARS I was still craving dope badly enough at times that I still had "dope dreams" and my mouth would water to the point I was in tears when scenes in movies like that one in "Pulp Fiction" (where John Travolta pulls the H up into his needle and it shows the blood "check" burst into the gold liquid in slow motion) would catch me off-guard- if after TWELVE YEARS I STILL wanted dope that badly, how could I possibly face a lifetime more of craving it like that?? How was I supposed to get clean knowing that the craving never truly vanishes? It often times feels like a nightmare that just won't end, you know? Well, I hope that it's ended for you, I hope to the bottom of my heart and soul that you found the strength to lay the habit down again, Randall Larry. Peace and best wishes to you and yours....
