All Toro y Moi is super groovy but 'Underneath the Pine' is by far the coolest album. It gets me shakin' my hips and jivin' like no one is watching.

hameed no, but he makes all the music by himself, he just needs someone to interpratate them on the other instruments, that's why he's a soloist.
k Lz yes he does all the production/ plays all the instruments himself. everything you hear on every album he does completely solo. his first albums were more computer based/ synth production but he plays bass, guitar drums and keys. check out his 'yours truly- you hid' session on youtube. he plays all the instruments for the song live. and yes he brings the band for live sound to interpret those first albums songs especially.

Saw Toro Y Moi in Boston this past weekend, great live show
Saw these guys not too long ago. I went with a friend who liked them. i had heard their recordings and wasn't too into it. but live it was so intense and moving. can't wait to get a chance to see them again.

Just making the point that he writes produces sings and records it all by himself which is genius level incredible.. To go into a room and create every layer of this sound by yourself.. mind boggling..
