How to Make Homemade Playdough | Mr. X Vlog

Welcome back to my channel!
In this video, I show you how to make homemade playdough. I like this method because it is quick and makes smooth, long-lasting playdough.
When you make playdough with your child, you are fostering literacy, numeracy, motor and science skills. Read the recipe, measure and mix the ingredients, observe the colours and feel the textures. There is so much to learn and discover!
Here is the recipe and the instructions:
1 cup of flour
1/4 cup of salt
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon of oil
food colouring
Combine all the ingredients and mix thoroughly. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until playdough becomes one large mass. Let sit to cool on wax paper. Once cool enough to touch, knead the playdough for 5 minutes. Playdough is ready to be played with! Store in the refrigerator for a longer shelf life.
NOTE: I tried it again with 2.5 teaspoons of cream of tartar and I found it came out better. It wasn't as sticky and it was a little stiffer so it's easier to mold and keep its shape.
