And a mechanic shop wants 400 to do rear set!! 🤬🤔 I could promote to do this for 1/2 cost and still bank! (Finding the first few customers to trust a 100lb 57 yr old female might be the hardest part 😂) Thanks for sharing

Great video - thanks for posting. The part about priming the shock/strut was interesting. My 2015 Prius only has 60K miles. I am experiencing that clunk on the rear-right side. Could the shock wear out that quickly?

Just inspected my car. Right-rear shock is leaking, with thick layer of grease/dust all over. Surprised it failed after only 60K miles

Anyone know if the process, and the tools needed, are any different for a 2013 Prius C? I imagine the Prius C is close to the Prius but I'm not sure.

Loctite should be used on the shock rod nut when this is replaced. This is why you see red loctite visible on the old shock rod's nut threads when it was removed. Torque spec is 18ft-lbs for the shock rod nut.
The bottom shock bolt should be torqued when the vehicle is on the ground, 66ft-lb. Great video otherwise.

Next time do it the other way with the thin side down but not on concrete do it on a rubber mat so the thin rod doesn’t want to slide

and a mechanic today want to charge $600 for a 5 min video. His excuse was it's labor intensive cause you have to remove portion of the trunk (the cap in the trunk to the screws lol). All mechanic are scammer.

    Really bad..
    1. Spray some rust remover
    2. Don't put that dirty oily thing on trunk without protecting it 😔
