I watch that and think ‘wood must be cheap there’. So jealous. ;)
Depends on what you're being paid, I guess. He still made off with some good, clean scrap.
Worst case, helps him save on his electric bill lol.
@@joeywatch1145 It is just that here in Belgium, you choices are basically: pine, pine made to look like something else and ikea ;)
Ok, ok, exaggerated but I am so jealous when I see how many choices others have. Cherish that.
We can buy other woods here, if we're willing to sell a kid lol. It's really expensive, so we just usually buy pine and redecorate it.
Woods cheap if you shop at a local saw mill and mill it smooth yourself
@@zacharymonty6418 Not in Belgium, trust me. It is cheaper if you buy it in the raw and in bulk but as a diy kind of guy I have little use for for 10m2 unfinished oak. Nor do I have the space for it to dry it out.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
As the owner of a custom furniture/woodworking business, I long for the client who could afford me spending 6hrs labor on 2 drawer pulls 😂
What does I long for the client means?
@@hinduspl it means I hope to find them one day 😁
@@russellcarter6451 thanks for explaining
I thought what a waste of material until you glued thr whole thing to the top of the drawer front. Then it became clear. That’s a good looking drawer front! Subscribed!
Thumb up from a hobbyist woodworker in the Philippines!
I am currently building out my Sprinter van. You are my FAVORITE UA-cam STAR. I just love your videos and appreciate the time you take to teach us fine woodworking.
Why is woodworking so relaxing to watch ?
Love it👍 and people wonder why hand made items are expensive. They truly don't comprehend the amount of work going into it.
Strange how I enjoy watching the woodworking process. Easy to follow video, great job!
A few years ago I purchased a bedroom set of furniture (more money than time , Or should say less time than money ) NO HANDLES .. Handle was pretty much an inverted French cleat running width of each drawer . Flush and clean and totally functional . (well made w Dovetail drawers , so , not done to be cheap)
Your inverted french cleat idea is very tempting, might have to try that instead. Also sounds potentially stronger. No shade to the above video but it looks time-consuming, difficult, expensive, and possibly easy to break off...
Man I love your video style! Great content and personality! One of my favorite you tubers besides Bobby Dukes.
He feels like the woodworking version of This Old Tony to me.
It's so true that you're never too old to learn. I've been woodworking for 50 years give or take a month or two and I have never seen this done before. Must try it soon. Keep up the great videos.
pro trick : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Jaxon Caiden Yup, I've been using Flixzone for months myself :)
you're a m,aster woodworker. and a master entertainer! when discovery channel ditches the quest for gold and focuses on what matters -woodworking- you'll have a prime time show. :)
Those are two beautiful draw handles. Wow!
A lot of work but man is it beautiful! Worth the effort for sure. Outstanding craftsmanship!!
Very kuhl. Great clear and concise instruction. Well done
I like that I think I'm going to try that love all your videos
Those pulls are pure wood artistry! Thanks for the tip on table saw cove-cutting without using an expensive store-bought jig!
The saying is true: you will never go to sleep without learning something new. I am also a carpenter and something like this had never occurred to me. I find it a very interesting video. Greetings from Spain.
Even works, that's a real bonus. Love it
That video taught me a lot. Loved the explanation of cove cutting on the ts. I didn't picture that being the entire top of the drawer front. Very nice!
Awesome video and awesome tats! 1 Peter 5:8 is a good reminder to have around.
🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great job explaining the process 👍
These pulls make drawer look better, fashioned and awesome. Thanks for a nice and interesting video.
What a process the handles turned out phenomenal!
Oh, imagine these made out of pallet wood... :-)
Love these drawer pulls. Thumbs up.
Great technique! It does seem to be a large piece of wood to whittle down to two small handles, but when you it all done up together at the end, it looks class! Totally worth it! Especially if the solid drawer pull is hiding the cut edge of veneered sheet material. Top man!
John wardle that would explain why it’s going across the full width. I was thinking “why not just make a pull and then put a notch in there for it - you’d get multiple pulls from the piece” but this makes sense.
I like that furniture style. Your drawer pulls are very nice work.
3:38 !! Never thought of using table saw that way. Brilliant 👏 i learned new skill now. Thank you very much
Wow! Just wow, I have no other words.
Really nice.I have 30 drawers that are in the 'what do I do for drawer pulls' phase. I wish I could spend the time.
Wanting to make new dressers for our master bedroom and never thought about making drawer pulls. These are beautiful and well made. Thanx for the idea and video! Guess I need to get a few new tools. 😁
Only the second video of yours that I've watched but I'm hooked. A slightly irreverant approach to good wood working, brilliant!
That is a handsome drawer pull.
Very nice, indeed a very handsome drawer pull. Thanks for sharing. Hello from Maine.
We used to cut and slice up all sorts of stuff to make sanding blocks out of in the autobody world. Pvc pipe, inside and out make great sanding blocks.
Outstanding. Really enjoying your straightforward style of instruction and subtle humor. Not to mention the quality of your woodworking. Have a good weekend.
I have used the table saw to make crown molding out of 2x6 for a house we built in high school "Building Trades" a long time ago. Great job, I will put this in the brain bank for later use and hopefully be able to withdraw it lol. I look forward to your videos, 2 thumbs up bud
I saw this technique back in the early 90's and made a CD cabinet using these type pulls. The technique I saw also included a slight undercut when ripping the final piece to create a registration edge for fitting the pull perfectly against the drawer front.
Virtually no waste!
A true work of art
Beautiful handle. It's a lot of work though. I might attempt it if I only need a handful
Awesome this is skill + artist = speak for themselves 👍👍
Great handles and great video. I really like them. The only thing is a lot of wasted wood to make them.
Also a great tutorial for making giant spokeshaves. Well done!
That table saw trick is sweet! Thanks for the information!!
Oh, imagine these made out of pallet wood... :-)
Love these drawer pulls. Thumbs up.
Awesome pulls. Been thinking about doing coping cuts on the table saw for a while, think this might have finally inspired me to try it! Great vid
Super dope design! I appreciate you showing the full walkthrough!
Vids keep getting better. Keep it up.
all I can say thank you! Again you put my mind into thinking mode!
This is my favorite video on YT so far this year! I learned something I had no previous clue to (not completely; I remotely knew I could cut coves on the table saw). Certainly a great and very practical video, thanks brother.
Hahjahahaha I like the drawer pulls very nice man. Who would have think how much works is to make them thanks.
so beautiful
I really need a table saw... all the nice things to make
Narration, dry humor, timing all great! Oh and the project is very cool 😁
Nice work man. Very nice. I have a build coming up I might use that on.
Love that drawer pull! Looks like store bought, but way better. Good job!
Excellent video, the way you attached the pull to the drawer was not what I was thinking, your way is a lot stronger than a couple of screws into the edge, like a normal pull gets attached. Thanks.
Man I would love to see this same pulls but out of cast bronze on the walnut. Man I bet that would look cool
Looks like a bought one, only better! And the pvc pipe as a backer for sanding, I'm gonna make some of those.
Technique is wonderful. Many good tactics used. Loved the pvc sander. Have to think a router would be useful though
Great video!
Watched this whole thing knowing damn well I'll never be able to recreate this but they sure are beautiful. I have a very limited set of tools right now but I have dreams of being able to make all my own furniture some day. Your channel is super helpful and I'm glad I found you!
wow great work. the result looks really great. It was fun to watch. Thanks for the great tips
Greetings from Germany
This was great -- Thanks!
I've been looking for ideas for creative drawer pulls for a large built in I'm making. LOVE the t-shirt too!
Beautiful
Very well done!
Very impressive craftsmanship. I love how the drawer pull is incorporated the full width of the drawer. Creating a virtually seamless look. Y’all pray and stay safe.
So... yh... glad I found this channel.. a fresh take in wood work. New sub. Cheers my guy.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Well once again you've done an amazing job and while I would have to watch your video a couple more times, you did an awesome breakdown of the process. Beautiful stuff!
That’s a work of art! Brilliant 🤩
Great artist!
I love it. Im getting ready to try to build a wardrobe for princess dresses for my Granddaughter.
Can you link a video for the piece of furniture shown in this video.
Best woodworking chanel ever!!!
I'd love to hear you sing. If it's anything like I imagine, you would nail any Johnny Cash song
I walk the line 🤷🏻♂️
Very Cool I forgot about this technique that I was taught in high school some years ago, very informative great editing.
Thanks great natural looking handles
Pvc trick awesome!
Thanks Chuck
Superb you've learnt that skill from an old dog like myself.
Stay safe buddy and keep them coming.
Robbie from Huyton Liverpool UK
You're an awesome woodworker your talent is amazing one of the best I've seen keep up the good work
Great looking pulls
Awesome looking. Def on my to do list now.
Love the piece... and love 1 Peter 5:8. Keep up the good work
gj there. Just commenting for the Utube algorithm cause u deserve to be more seen! Love your style and the running in on every start of a video lol. Your comedy videos were also great so far
Well done ! I like the shape of the handle but if it was assembled like a dovetail I think it would be even better.
Much more elegant than painted knobs. Actually looked like you could have gotten two pulls from each half. Your subscribership is climbing.
Very nice, different than I expected. Great style, I'd like to see more of your projects.
Awesome
Man I have to say you have some amazing talent !!
I enjoyed watching that build. They do look great
Very cool! I have done cove cut raised panels before but, never thought of using it for these type of drawer pulls. I considered doing this with a router until seeing the cost of the bits. Thanks for the ideas.
Good job
Love the t shirt
Nice video and tips! Thanks for share
Luv the t-shirt
Nicely done. Your doing great.
Awesome work sir
excellent work. Digging the background music as well.
Nice video. Love the tee shirt.
The legs under that closet look so nice! gonna make a video about it?
Really cool process. Thanks for sharing!
An alternative to the (dangerous) table-saw cove-cutting would be a router table with a coving bit.
Andrei Rînea the table saw is way safer
Awesome. Piece looks great.
