  • In this video we demonstrate how to adjust the chuff (steam exhaust) timing on the TCS WOWSound decoder. As always: all of the decoder sounds in this video are being produced by the WOWSound decoder and speaker mounted in the tender of the locomotive.

How do you leave the sound or light menu? I seem to be stuck there, I tried 0 but nothing happens. tapping f8 4 times does nothing, as does turning it off and on. I've been able to use the menu before but now I'm stuck!

I am new to DCC so what about the timing on the other side? On my steam locos, the wheel rods are set about a quarter apart from each each side.

Both sides turn at the same speed, so if one side is correctly synced, they both are.

Not exact enough for me. Thank goodness there is still the option of using a sound cam. And honestly, sound cams are not that difficult to install and the chuff STAYS exactly where it’s supposed to. None of this drifting 10 to 15 degrees off which drives me nuts. Hats off to TCS for retaining that option. I’m done with Soundtraxx and the Tsunami 2. Their chuff drifts off ALL the time.

TSU 2 does have provisions for a cam. I've fitted them to plenty of locos.
