Thank you for doing this extensive presentation. I found it a little hard to keep track of the brushes as you went along. You gave the name of the size at the beginning and then showed how it worked and talked about how you felt but it was hard for me to remember what the brush was when you said this is my favorite brush. This brush worked really good with detail. It would be great if you could give top five favorites and why at the end or in a separate video or even to tell me here in your response. I really enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you Tara
Smaller brushes have a significant advantage for sharp details, but you have to load it with watercolor more frequently.
Good point! Some did react that way for me as well, thankfully a few of them felt better on that aspect 🙂
Hi, as I am absolutely a beginner I tried too several brands but tried to avoid by this far to purchase the really good and pricy ones, until I improve. My favorite so far was daler rowney, and da Vinci synthetic brushes (the apple green ones). I have Raphael too, and some Pro arte which is good but I have those in bigger sizes. I have a siberian squirrel pro brush which I find harder to use on small details but one step at a time 😅.
Thank you for the comparison video. I appreciate it so much, and I will try out your method with testing brushes, with the trees and little landscapes. What an excellent idea!!
I love how it turned out, all of your amazing small paintings on one big sheet in the end.
I surely would hang it on my wall. (both) 😊
Thank you Mariann, I appreciate you sharing about your journey with the paintbrushes. I'm glad you enjoyed the paintings!🙂
My favourite brush for fine detail is so old that I have no idea what make it is, sadly. It was given to me by my grandfather about 35 years ago, and I have no idea how long he had it before me. I protect that brush at all costs. 😊 I have the urge to paint misty landscapes now! They are so relaxing to do.
Wow this is a beautiful story behind this mistery brush! I'm glad the misty landscapes inspire you! Believe it or not, I'm not tired from painting them after the 3 spreads 🙂
In brief, what were your top 5 brushes. I have been using a Raphael #2/0 , 8408, and I absolutely love it. I do intricate work most of the time and this brushe beats silver black velvet. The trouble I have with silver black velvet is the tip goes bad quickly. Love your channel and your work.
Thank you for a practical video!
I personally like Raphael brushes.
But the last time I ordered two of them, the other one had a loose ferrule.
I mean the ferrule had almost detached from the stem of the brush.
I glued it back and it´s working fine.
I know I could have had an other one, if I had contacted to the store.
But it works great...
I'm glad the video was helpful and that you worked out the Raphael problem. I didn't mention I use their natural hair paintbrushes and love them so much, nice brand!
Great video! And some new fibers name for my art dictionary 🫶🏻 I've tried KUM Memory Point, Princeton Neptune, Princeton Aqua Elite. When they were new, I'd say they're my favourite 😁 But yes, there's no perfect brush and I agree! This far, KUM Memory Point is one of my favourite for details. My go to brush is Raphael Softaqua. It's synthetic squirrel so I think it's so good for loading paint but it wouldn't be so great for precise detail.
KUM was such a discovery! Thank you for sharing about your favorite paintbrushes!
Great video. So many of the brushes are not available in the US. I probably own all the major brands already. Recently found the Escoda Chronos. Bought one and have since ordered 4 more. Exceptional for detail. I'm starting 2024 with a tree series and intend to paint your trunk from Paint Realism Fast. Thank you for sharing your work and your obvious love of watercolor.
Thank you for sharing about this brush!
Excellent review. There weren't a lot of brands that I could purchase in Australia. My favourite brushes thus far are all Rosemary and co K sable but perhaps I should try some of their synthetics for detail. For the way I paint I don't mind reloading my brush lots but I like a consistent release of water. The video was pretty cool anyway and I might have to play with creating some misty landscapes.
I'm glaf you enjoyed this! It's not the first time that I hear about the Rosemary paintbrushes, I really want to try them out.
This is an incredible video, I love it ☺☺☺
I'm so glad you found it interesting, thank you for letting me know! 🙂
That third painting is gorgeous! I mean they all are but I loved that one most I think so far XD still watching!
Thank you and enjoy! I'll wait for your final vote in the end 😁
@@paintingandchocolate gosh I’m loving them all but the waterfall and river are beautiful! I want to try a Kum brush now 😍
This brush was a nice surprise 🙂
So which ones were your favorite? Top two or three?
Kum, Raphael Kaerell and can't decide between the Princetons. Isabey also was great.. and a few more! It's tough to choose and I think I need to use them all more to really decide 🙂
