Excellent video. I would say to the UK and other international shooters out there don't be afraid of the size of these American events. The Open, The Grand (trap), the sxs Classics, etc. They are without exception the friendliest events you could ask for. International shooters are welcomed with open arms at these events.

As an Australian gun enthusiast i have to agree. I've had the pleasure of visiting the USA many times now and you guys are some of the nicest, friendliest people i've ever met, especially when they find out that i'm a shooter forced to live under ridiculous Aussie gun laws. In North America, we don't hunt pheasant like that, it's generally just one guy or a few guys and a dog, so the clays flying low and away is a common flight, and one I've experienced lots while hunting.

I might have missed something but why was the original Longthorne action not allowed in the US?

      I didn’t register it in time 😊

@@tgsoutdoors ah, makes sense. I made the mistake of forgetting America has any gun laws at all!

Thank you for asking this question. I was also puzzled that Britain made any action that would be illegal in the States.

Wish I knew you were coming. Would shot the event just to try and get paired with you. Come back and lets hunt the northern prairies for grouse over setters. Cheers

I think part of the harder shooting shells is many of us grew up brid hunting with high brass shells. Reach and velocity matters for hitting a far game bird vs shooting clays. If you are used to the speed and kick of high brass it can be hard to transition to slower/softer stuff

Maybe it because I grew up on a Scottish estate shooting my trusty 22 Brno with the Parker hale sound moderator and my in hindsight ridiculous franchi spas12, watching your classy videos with beautiful firearms makes me smile. I guess it’s nostalgia. Certainly was a simpler time. Anyway, keep on keeping on, we love what you do and you’re doing what you love❤️

You all put out wonderful videos time and time again. As a viewer from the states it’s pleasant to see a shooter from a different background and area come over to our neck of the woods and detail the differences and put a different perspective on our style of the sports. Keep up the good work Johnny and crew. Would love to squad with you guys someday!

I shot there the week before that event. Started on the green course no problems. When I switched over to the orange (more difficult) course it felt like they had already set up for the Open and I couldn’t come close! Yikes,, they were hard targets!

    Ha !
    Great vid.
I was barely teenaged when I moved to South Carolina to live with my Dad and about 200 relatives I'd never met
    I loved it
I was a natural shooter and my Dad put me in shoots there immeadiately
I had too much fun and we really could not afford it ... but shoot I did
Then I moved back out west and got mixed up with life and did not attend another shoot until I was in my 20's
It was in Spokane , Wa.
    And it was a hoot
Have not been to another shoot in the last 35 yrs ... Your vids of shooting in the U.S. brings it all back
Good to see you having fun
