There's so much more that's awesome about this. It uses corvair engines. His wife helped him, she even helped build the engines. It's beautiful! I am beyond impressed!
Inspiring! LOVE IT!!! Freedoms in this country to build and fly what we want, and the buck stops with you when designing and building! Hope I'm brave enough to build what is my head some day. Thanks for sharing!!
Hi JIM you really did it. I remember you telling me about this and I was like what. ps miss the chocholate at Christmas time. Im still over at Talon come by some time.
Exceptional work and investment. Congratulations first. Let us know which engine you choice. It sounds like a diesel. For Europe it will be the best. But only conti has stc and austria. Sma in preparation. Which panel you use.? Lovely greeting and thank you for video
Awesome video the Vans Twin is stunning, but just one question (just asking) does Van's have a program where someone can help the customer build the plane?
I don't think Vans had anything to do with this one, that's why is an experiment with experimental. Van does have a very good tech support to answer any questions.
A fixed gear twin? That's not the way the big boys do it! Alas, Its a different problem. Revenue miles does not enter into this equation. Simplicity and redundancy was the goal here and it was achieved. The only real advantage for retractable gear is in ditching. Statistically, gear failure is much more likely than the need to ditch. A very good choice.
Now I’d love to see him do that using an RV-10!

This one definitely needs a deep dive…excellent looking machine.
Fun engineering projects like this are what's going to keep general aviation alive for many years to come
All I can say is that’s so neat! Looks great too! Kinda reminds me of a weird piper seminole.
That's cool you turned it in to a twin. It looks a lot better in my opinion. Great job.

Super Awesome!
looks cool, and very like the Diamond aircraft twin engine.
Youre my hero dude, thanks for making this!
Very nice, would like to hear some specs and performance details.
Awesome! Now I want to see a tandem, tailwheel, twin RV.
There was a RV-8 twin that crashed on the first flight.. I think it was an -A model.
Verrrry cool. Makes me think of Zenith's 'Gemini' project, which I'm hoping they're still going to develop.
Reminds me allot of a Wing Derringer. Very cool!
At first that's what I thought, then I saw the fixed gear and realized it wasn't.
Very impressive !
Awesome!
Excellent

Why not leave the centerline engine, too?
Any info regarding this plane specifications?
What are the speed, weight, and other important differences after conversion?
Didn't someone do this with a Zenith some years ago?
Looks great! Hope to see it at Oshkosh!
Zenith had a twin concept plane called the Gemini that had two 80HP Jabirus. They never brought it to market though.
Nice !

Pretty sure he has Corvair engines on that plane.
that is awesome
Where can I buy one

They make it very clear that they wont offer any help with any deviation from the original plans
Decades ago, I had started drawings on a similar project based on an Ercoupe.... never went past the paper stage, though.....
Performance figures, please!
What a beauty.
I just saw this plane in a video about the real F18 pilot, who flew Cruise in Top Gun 2!
I am 11 years old, I love airplanes and every time a plane passes by I look up.
I bet you'll get your pilot license before your drivers license.
Uhh ,,remember the wing Derringer??
