Thanks for this great Video! I received my MaxMod in 2018. I swapped out the TLM67 guts for the MK67. Ive also used Telefunken ef806s and ef86 tubes with it. Ive used this mic several times a week since I got it from Mr. Max Kircher in mid 2018. Its works great and it is an absolutely beautiful sounding microphone.
When I first considered that you were "modding" a U87Ai, my thought was "who would do that?" But, seeing as it's non-destructive and quickly reversible, I like the idea a lot.
Hi, thanks for this video. How about the sound? I read that lot of guys who order this nice U67 plug in has the problem with the transformer sound and replace it with Moby U67 transformer. I heard the samples and the stock one sounded really dull.
Correct 87ai has no valve, nor does the original 87. This 67 mod does and the new body has a diff connector for the power supply. What's the misunderstanding?
@@dobbatron So you change a condenser microphone (u87) in a vintage u67 (tube microphone) ??? Is that possible. I always thought you would need a completely new circuit.
Hi, his email and also info is in the first comment on this thread: gearspace.com/board/product-alerts-older-than-2-months/971786-introducing-fabolous-tlm67-u87-u67-mod.html

I have an MK67, my Neumann BV12 transformer is on the way. Before I have it installed i’m gonna make a before and after video
I want to buy one where can I get it
hey can you make a video if how it sounds?
Thanks for doing this video. I'm right on the edge, very tempted to get this mod. My main concern is self noise of the circuit.
Nothing noticeable beyond any tube mic.
@@dobbatron I forgot that I had posted the comment I made. I have since got this mod and love it.
Any idea what's the difference between the tubes?
Thanks for the video. How can we buy one?
Could you do a Video of the tube replacement?
Where can I purchase this mod and would I need an extra external tube amp
Power supply, cable is all included.
Great video , Does he send a power box too with the insert ?
Yes, power and cable
the u87 ai has no valve in it wtf? It is a 3 pin XLR mic with phantom power? 2:52
