- It's time for another non-league story this time about the worlds oldest continuously used senior football ground York Road the home of Maidenhead United and the clubs bid to leave it for a new stadium.

Really enjoy going to York Road and watching Maidenhead ,but have to concede it's had its day. Only two entrances a long long walk from each other (which became a pest when games started to be segregated) and any gate over 2000 is a squeeze with long waits for drinks/chips or a trip to the loo !! It will be a huge shame if the new ground isn't built and all the fantastic work done by Alan Devonshire and the club to get them where they are evaporates away.
great video mate
Thanks
Love York Road, great memories but... too old, clapped out, difficult to park. Hope they manage to move.
Agree. A fantastic old ground where I first watched senior non-league football in the late 1970s, but it was a bit tumble down then, it's hemmed in by railway and town centre and the club needs a modern ground. Good luck to The Magpies.
One season United were struggling in the lower reaches of the Isthmian League. One of their supporters always brought his dog along to the games, and we knew things were bad when the dog didn't turn up!
There's loads of industrial land in and around Maidenhead I don't know why they can't figure out a location
