There has been 3 Gold Coast United's over the years the 1st iteration folded in 79 and became the Senior Team for Broadbeach United which up until that point was only a Junior Club currently Broadbeach play in FQPL 1 the 2nd division of South East Queensland, the 2nd iteration was the A-League Club while the 3rd was founded in 2017 and play in the NPL QLD which is the top division of South East Queensland
Oscar and hulk were signed by Shanghai SIPG
Good watch, thank you.😮 They have a interesting Wikipedia which i looked after because of this video.😅

Next season: How to ruin a football club by putting a huge debt on it: Manchester United
I just wish there were less FC's. What do you think of a name like real salt lake?
Who’s here after the English FA rejected the proposal to allow Welsh clubs to play in the Welsh League Cup? Can the Welsh FA take this case to Court of Arbitration Sports?!
Left with more questions than answers here, didn't really explain anything
Underrated video! I used to keep half an eye on Guangzhou for various reasons - namely Marcello Lippi and Zheng Zhi. Hulk and Oscar never played for them though but of course did play in China, I’ve actually been to Suning’s ground as part of Juventus’ pre-season tour in China. It’s a shame what has happened to the Super League as there did seem to be a lot of fans out there who were passionate about it.
Thanks for sharing!
Richmond’s rival in the show is more Manchester City, if I remember correctly. Season 3 makes a big deal of West Ham, because of the reason you give, but they’re never described as Richmond’s rivals.
Thankfully they reformed. It’s sad that New Zealand Knights folded but there are two kiwi sides in the A League now. 😃
Oscar never player for Guangzhou maybe you had him confused with Paulinho
You're right, thank you for pointing that out.
Keep up with the channel mate
Thanks for the support.
Just imagine if this happens to Saudi Arabia, basically the same story (buying all the players and all that), might possibly happen to Saudi Arabia, might not 💀
I'm not sure, Saudi need it to change their image on the global scene, whereas the Chinese government wanted the Chinese League to improve so that kids in China would play the sport and ultimately qualify for and win world cups. One thing that will always hold China back on that front is the culture of education above everything else, so instead of playing football after school, it would be after school studying instead, for example.
@@DeadAirMediaFootballAlso China focuses more on individual sports than teams, the teams sports are usually very small teams like table tennis or gymnastics. ultimately each person is seen individually and not collectively thus creating more personal competition
Great channel mate. Love the videos 👍
Glad you like them!
Looks on in nervous saudi....
Im not welsh but i think ots a cool idea, only if you see fans and teams take it seriously, like if yoy see the cardiff b team vs newports b team to a stadium with 8k people then it just defeats the purpose
why shouldn't wales have its own league with all our teams playing in it like most other countries do? are we not enough of a country to do that? i hate that people always think wales cant do it on our own. and to the welsh efl clubs fans, why do some of you want so bad to play in yhe English league, even when it means welsh football is worse because of it? is your inferiority complex that bad?
It's a real mixed bag of comments, we can only surmise that Welsh football with the EFL clubs would be on a similar level to the Scottish Premiership, not sure if that's a fair shout though.
The Basques don't get a Football League of their own and they certainly don't get to field a national team. For a non-sovereign nation Wales does extremely well in football terms. Having access to the English system enables Wales to have far bigger clubs than a nation of under 4 million would usually have by itself. Look at Ireland for comparison.
@@RW-nr6bhahh the 'you should be grateful' nonsense. i don't care if Wales can have one or two big clubs because they play in England, i'd rather if Wales had a competitive league where every team is professional and competes in Europe every year, do you get where I'm coming from? it's much better to have all the teams in Wales be competitive than have a small handful of big clubs that play in another country. I'm curious to know where you are from by the way
Then have all your clubs withdraw from the English league system. And what about Metyhr Town? Either be Welsh clubs or not.
We mention that they've been offered a potential £6 million to leave the Southern League and join the Cymru Premier. Whether it happens or not is up to Merthyr Town.
I am not Welsh so I don't have a vested interest in this, but I am surprised at the opposition in the comment section to this idea especially from fans who might get to see their teams play in Europe again
If they’re going to invite the four welsh EFL teams, then they need to invite 4 English teams to make it fair. As the video shows, a few English clubs won the old Welsh cup back in the day. I want welsh football to be in a stronger position, but as a Cardiff fan , I’m grateful to be playing in the English system. If joining this cup meant jeopardizing our position, then it’s a no thanks from me.
You don’t really have to imagine a club like Newport County playing a European match in Astana, then coming back home to play a team like Port Vale. This would happen nearly every year until the mid-90s, when Welsh clubs playing in English leagues were still allowed to play in the Welsh Cup. Usually, a team in the English Third or Fourth Division would be representing Wales in the Cup Winners’ Cup, and they would be the only team representing Wales in a given season.
To some of us, the Cup winners Cup is a story told by our parents 😂.
All clubs in Wales should play in the Welsh league system, it's time for the clubs to come home for good. The route into the Conference League, or possibly the Europa League, for the league winners is very achieveable as TNS proved this year, and would be worth millions of pounds per year to the league as a whole but also to the league winners. Who knows there may even be a possibility of Champions League qualification. If all clubs in Wales played in a single league the numbers going to games for the clubs currently in the Welsh league system would skyrocket. The FAW should put up money to improve grounds and facilities for those clubs in our league system. This is the true ambition for club football in Wales. A proper Welsh league system, with all teams in Wales competing in it.
The situation is dire because of criminals associated with Clem.. you can't tell the story of why we're in the shit without talking about that.
Long time swans fan here and im glad the FA rejected the proposal. Wanna play in said competitions go back to the FAW!
In terms of quality that’s like saying Bristol City could win the league if they beat Bristol Manor Farm and Larkhall Athletic. The Welsh teams in the EFL have always been EFL clubs and the Welsh league mag as well be a regional league in quality. May as well just make the Welsh league as a regional league in the lower tiers of English football imo.
football imperialist smh. sick of English people's ignorance. why should other countries have their own leagues with all their teams playing there but not Wales? are we not enough of a country?
The four Welsh clubs should not be allowed in Welsh cup if they are then should leave the English league. As a Cardiff fan for 50 years it's a no from me
It's only for the 5th season of Welcome to Wrexham. No other club would care about it. Glad it was blocked. If you are good enough you will win trophies eventually.
Does Wakefield have a non league team? That would be a good project. I think Wakefield trinity would welcome a tenant who has football league ambitions so that could help with upgrading Belle Vue.
Very true, they do have Wakefield AFC, which was founded in 2019 and strangely for a 10th level club, has shareholders in Connecticut USA.
I hope Merthyr win it. They’re also in the English football pyramid but nobody realises it.
No one forgets. FAW have offered them £6 million to join the Cymru Premier. That way they can join the League Cup too.
We do mention them in the video as an FAW trump card. They've been offered £6 million, £2 million for their stadium, and the potential for £4 million in grants and funding from the local and national (Welsh) government. Beats playing Gloucester City, Basingstoke, Chertsey, and Poole Town in the Southern League.
@@DeadAirMediaFootball Or maybe they have ambitions of making the football leave for long terms growth. I have no idea what their motivation is either way, but I assume there is a method to their madness. I want the Welsh clubs to remain in the English football pyramid, invite the Scots and Northern Irish clubs too. There’s a way that it can work where we have a UK football league without compromising the local FAs.
@@TheFamousMileEnd I completely agree. The FA Cup started off as open to the whole UK and it was intended the Football League would be too but sadly the Scottish FA had other ideas.
If the English wants the Welsh teams out of they're leagues then get your shitty English teams out of the Welsh league oh and the Scottish league works both fcking ways
He was dead and still declared bankrupt? That's messed up.
His estate was declared bankrupt. He owed £8 million, and his estate only had £2 million in assets.
UPDATE: The Football Association is reportedly set to reject this proposal, the EFL tabled their objections to the proposal to the FA who have relayed those concerns to the Football Association of Wales. www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jan/17/blow-for-wrexham-as-fa-to-block-plan-for-efl-clubs-in-new-welsh-league-cup
I got mixed feeling's on it as it wil deny 1 welsh league side a european spot but will help the league's coefficient and make for some big paydays playing the big welsh sides playing in the English league. Would be best if merthyr did play in the welsh league. But the English league clubs are fine in the English league system.
The EFL, and EPL should allow the Welsh sides in the English leagues, to play in the Welsh League Cup, and to qualify for Europe. We need the Welsh sides to do better in Europe. So therefore Welsh sides could do well in Europe. I do not support merging the British leagues. But I hope Welsh sides in the English leagues can be allowed to play in the Welsh League Cup.
Cardiff and Swansea are no more deserving of European football currently than Portsmouth or Derby. Earn it against real teams and not local plumbers.
UEFA have rejected this idea.
UEFA already gave approval according to various sources, including the FAW themselves, but the FA look like they're going to reject this based on concerns highlighted by the EFL
Just after the publicity wrexham would bring, if the welsh clubs take part then they should leave the english league.
We'll get a cup competition to decide the best team in wales, sounds great
The efl Welsh clubs compete in the competition, not every year, here how it works, the Cymru Premier, Cymru North and South enter then you have a number of wildcard entries, the four efl clubs will enter U21 teams rather than the full strength squad.
Before PSG won, ligue 1 had 6 different winners in the previous 6 seasons. Then 7 when PSG won their first. Look at the league table and points spread (minus PSG) you'll notice their lesgue is ine if the nist competitive.
It Would Be Rigged So Wrexham Could Win It
Welsh clubs should play in the Welsh leagues end off
Then get your shitty English teams out of the Welsh league and the Scottish league
Why? I’d invite Scottish clubs to play in England too.
The only reason Welsh teams play in England is historical, there was no Welsh National League when these clubs were formed
Most of the Welsh teams in the English pyramid never played in the Welsh leagues and this has been great for them. To me it seems beneficial for them to stay in the English league. See no reason they shouldn’t tbh.
@tinypardus There was no Welsh league until around 1990. That is why the teams played in England. Many teams who once played in England now play in Wales, where they rightfully belong.
They just want to get Wrexham in there for the publicity
Why not,bring more money
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney almost bought Hartlepool before buying Wrexham.
Didn't know that. Thanks for the comment.
why do you endorse, promote and finance sweatshop labour with your scummy adidas tshirt? they deny workers union rights and hundreds of their workforce have been killed in 2 seperate fires. do you hate people that much? imagine your brother, mother, father, sister ,son ,daughter or friend being killed at work because of scummy companies denying them safe working conditions-why do you approve of that?
Thanks for the comment, it helps the video 😉
@@DeadAirMediaFootball so you cant even justify your actions. you are morally bankrupt. karma will deal with you..
Do you have a phone that was made in China? 99% chance you do, enjoy your hypocrisy.
I saw this obvious troll, and whilst that phone comment has probably dispatched them with haste, I'd like to ask them, Who the hell do they think they are? 😂 How dare you judge someone on how they dress, not all of us are born in mansion houses and are part of the aristocracy. A person can wear what they like and express whoever they want to be. Maybe they like Adidas or maybe they're the only clothes they can afford because they're working class. You don't know who they are but from what I can tell, you're a hypocrite who's typing out troll messages from their mothers basement without a life on a phone made in China where conditions are poor, pay is poor so why don't you chuck it in the bin, go outside and read some Karl Marx in the park and end capitalism. By the way I doubt you've ever read Karl Marx, I have, and I can tell you that if a communist in a capitalist country wanted to live, they would be naked, hungry, and homeless. Buy a red flag and go down and protest at your local Adidas or sportswear shop instead of sitting on your backside trolling comments sections 😂.
Nice video mate, will be watching more of your stuff
Awesome, thank you!
Was wondering what happened to them
It's been 17 years since the original club folded, mate.
He should buy Luton Town and build them a proper stadium that isn't in peoples back garden
His dad stated he was going to buy Liverpool from Sky sports
We're not sure how trustworthy his father is considering Elon has claimed he doesn't get on with his father in the past.
I highly doubt Liverpool would want to sell atm, especially to someone who knows nothing about owning a football club. I'm not hating btw, I like Musk but doubt that he will get to buy Liverpool
Elon, please buy West Ham!
If Musk were to buy a football club I think it should be Vauxhall Motors FC. That would be a great name to see in the Champions' League.
Wouldn't be allowed to enter under that name because of sponsorship rules. Would probably have to be under Ellesmere Port VM or VM Cheshire. In Wales we had Airbus UK Broughton as AUK Broughton compete in Europe.
@@richcymru3976 I don't think they're called Vauxhall Motors FC because of sponsorship though. Bayer Leverkusen are still called Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions' League.
@lewis72 they're only known as Leverkusen to UEFA. Similar how Red Bull teams are known as Leipzig and Salzburg with no Red Bull. They aren't too bad as if they banned the use of word Rovers you could pretty much just gather Blackburn means Blackburn Rovers. Vauxhall Motors FC would be a challenge to drop the sponsorship whilst still keeping a connection people will recognise.
@@richcymru3976 Listed as "Bayer 04 Leverkusen" on Uefa's own website. Red Bull ARE the sponsors of those respective clubs though, which isn't the same and wasn't the point that I was making. My point was and still is that Vauxhall Motors FC isn't sponsored by Vauxhall Motors.
