I very much believe in my heart that Judy Garland is literally ...Over that Rainbow in that place called HEAVEN....Yes , I believe in the after life and I feel deep in my soul that Judy's spirit lives on ...
It's very rare that I comment on such precious things, but to all those that find themselves perusing the comments and changing the playback speed to1.5x, try the 1.25x setting instead. Although the 1.5x was certainly better than the original speed, when I tried 1.25x, the whole listening experience was transformed. I recognized "Judy" more so than any of the other times I've listened, and I got that feeling that only she can give...the same one I get every time I watch her perform "By Myself" and receive that hard-earned and so-deserved standing ovation on her show...or as it is more popularly known, "The Judy Garland Experience." ;) The result was that I think I may have truly heard this for the first time rather than the dialogue going in my head when listening at the original speed. At 1.5x, it certainly sounds closer to what I thought I'd hear, but 1.25x was arresting for me. It made me hear what I believe she, speaking as an author, was trying to convey rather than the constant stream of questions and commentary that came with the original speed or the comparisons that came with the 1.5x setting. It shut me up and sat me down like I was hearing it for the first time. It was as if she did the "head thing" and started to speak the utter truth when I changed it to 1.25x. Give it a whirl. I'm not saying anyone is wrong about the 1.5 or that I'm right with 1.25....hardly the point, and I couldn't care less about that part. I'm just saying...try it. You can always change it back. I never really thought about the profound difference such a thing could make, and it's made me question every single recorded thing I've ever heard. And since my singular-point comment has turned into an essay, one more thing - a big thank you to all my fellow Judy-lovin' folk that have done their part to preserve and share such gems as this. When she's on the screen, the rest of the world's playing field is leveled, and almost all other alleged greatness is eclipsed. There is unity in being a true fan, and I tip my proverbial hat to all that keep that practice alive.
Poor beautiful soul, ❤️you will never be forgotten! But loved and admired for all the love and smiles you brought into the world. They can never hurt you now that we know truth,Rest In Peace!
This reminds me eerily of Michael Jackson's drug-slurred words. God bless them both. They left us with art of the highest order that will never die, nor will their memories.
They can say anything they want about Judy, but she loved her children and she didn't treat them like her own mother who was one of the folks Judy is talking about who exploited her stole all her money! LOVE you Judy and RIP. 2020
This tape had to have been done in 1965, because the "man" she's referring to is Marc Herron, the "man" she married that same year. The marriage lasted less than a year. She returned to singing (as well as ever sometimes), and even did a tour and played the Palace in 1967, from which a recording was made. It included "What Now, My Love". I saw her in Chicago in 1967 and she was outstanding. Then she married Mickey Deans in early 1969, and died in June of that year. And yes, she was a wonderful mom and her kids loved her.
Imagine if she knew that her husband (Marc Herron) would eventually be cavorting with Liza’s husband, Peter Allen. Neither mother nor daughter seemed to be able to pick good husbands for themselves.
This was the product of greed during the the time of the fantasy movie factory . They pumped out and used talent for the name of the studio and its owners at interest. She , like others, were used and milked for every ounce of life they could get from her. Sadly, her mother was a jerk and she loved her Father during her uprising. The studio would not let her cancel her radio show when they knew her father was about to die and she was not afforded to go to him to see him... She was born with talent and it's a blessing that we have some good footage of that talent, but it was all at her true expense ... I wish I was around to have seen her in concert ... She is missed.
The studio and her mother treated her horribly. All they cared about was how much money she brought in. They pumped her full of drugs..both her mom and the studio when she was JUST a kid. It's horrible.
I just want to fix things for her. Just to go back in time and make sure that she was treated in an appropriate manner, starting with her horrible mother and difficult childhood. Poor beautiful, talented Judy. May she Rest In Peace.
What a great talent and human being. Her fault. if any, is has the medical condition of addiction certainly caused by Her mother and the studios. She had no chance given the times to seek true help. People did use Her and she had every right to feel angry. She was a huge talent and that can never change. What a sweet soul.
Yes, it's definitely legit. It's her voice, and it was pretty well known that she'd recorded her narrative in preparation for a book she intended to write.
Just watche'd the movie "Juday" and had read a book about her a long time ago. She sounds very much like a resentful alcoholic, and I love her depth of convictiion and passion.
Well, thank God there was Jack Paar and Dick Cavett and Jack Kennedy. They knew what a great person she was and saw through to her wit and intelligence.
i wouldn't go that far jack paar threw her under the bus in his memoirs (you can hear them on youtube somewhere). Though to be honest the things he said about judy and how he reacted painted him in a worse light than her
Her appearances on Paar were fantastic as she told quite a few hilarious stories. The woman was extremely bright and a marvelous raconeteur. It wasn't fair of Paar to rip her up as he did.
You had everything..but, support, and real love. Your mother should have protected you as a child. Your husbands and friends should have helped you off meds and booze. You are mad because it's over...and you know it. The fine man, you speaks of let her you die in a bathroom in London. This is an American tragedy. Talent like hers is so special...heartbreaking..
@@astorkitty I don't think that Mickey guy left her to die. She overdosed in the middle of the night, while he slept. But, her daughter Lorna even said, neither one of those guys were good for her. They were using her to start their own careers. Very sad! The Mark guy she is talking about was gay. Liza found him and her husband, Peter Allen, who died back in the 80's of AIDS, in bed together..
Judy, you can't hear this but you were absolutely a wonderful person, a wonderful mum, and a beautiful singer, and I just wish I could pass my love and affection onto you, but it won't happen unless we meet in the wonderful yellow brick road, I could ask the beautiful witch of the whatever compass point she comes from, coz I'm never sure. RIP, JUDY GARLAND.
My dance studio has used this with Over The Rainbow playing into a contemporary dance, it’s beautiful and really moving, every time I see it it’s gorgeous
wow, really sad. I love her so much, if only she could have internalised the massive amount of love her fans had for her, but maybe that wasn't enough, she needed to find her own peace, she never founf a way of dealing with the morons who hurt her with vicious words, people who never even knew her..all they had to do was listen to her life, it's in her music, and had they listened to her music maybe they wouldn't have been so cruel? I don't know, but I'm sorry for her pain, it wasn't fair, she was one in a million. Lots of imitations but there's only one Judy.
OMG, this is terrible the shit and scandal that Judy had to go through, my heart goes out to her, that she had to defend herself like this. God bless you Judy, you were wonderful.
Folks live and you die but rarely do they leave behind a legacy such as Judy Garland's. There is no doubt as to her humanity and this recording confirms that. She was the realest entertainer of all!!!
I do NOT blame Judy at all! The beauty is one thing she said, " They would not get her. " It doesn't matter how she died. It doesn't matter how terrible they were to her, they didn't kill her per se! I'm glad she took her own life. My God some of us are tired, dammit! Love you lady! #TeamJudy
"They're dead people. Bu they tried to kill me along the way, but by God they won't. They won't because I'm mad." Literally sent chills down my spine. Was a sharp turn from her previous sentence and totally unrelated to the very next sentence. Very interesting that she died before she got to finish the book. Very suspicious I should say.
Considering that in part of the audio she said that she met Mark Herron, it must be from the mid 60s, if it was suspicious, she would have died at that time, and the audios were hidden for a while
@@bruno.prieto I was thinking more of an Industry murder rather than uxoricide. Purely conspiracy theory, but with how the old Studios used to operate, I wouldn’t exactly rule it out. Especially if America’s Sweetheart was about to expose their abuse.
@@lewisedwards4058 I totally understand, but the autopsy confirmed it was accidental suicide, there was no reason to be murdered, and she had been addicted for over thirty years.
Like many artists she has gone through a severe world of industry and usually people that surround those artists are definetely ruthless abusers. Artists like her ...talented artists are being handled by mean people for money and fame.
It's awful that a person that brought so much joy to others experienced so much intense pain & suffering. I understand how she became trapped in a cycle of addiction. I'm glad she is at peace now. Rest in peace Judy.
You guys, YES this IS Garland. These taped dialogues are famously Garland, notoriously so. Biographers have had access to these tapes and have quoted them from nearly the time of her death, long before they were publicly available. Howard Stern aired them as well. But it's her.
Judy was 14 for the wizard of oz.!!!!!! Do ppl not realize your voice deepens as you age esp pushing 40/50 and even more so if you smoked, PLUS her already hectic stressed out life. My voice is deep. Always has been. Now that I'm a bit older when I mic up to play video games I can use my normal voice & everyone thinks I'm a guy or I can fake it to sound girlie. Also, I take benzos and some of these tapes sound like shes benzo'd out. They can make you slur your words & speak slower & she would have been using a handheld tape recorder that NEVER makes you sound good!!
I advise anyone listening to this to alter the speed (in UA-cam settings) to 1.5x speed. The original recording was made using a reel to reel tape machine. The playback speed as uploaded here distorts Garland’s voice. Her voice (both spoken and singing) did deepen as she got older but it did not get to this sort of pitch. There are many interviews she gave, and chat show appearances that illustrate this. In changing the speed as I suggest, it then becomes apparent to those who are familiar with Garland’s manner of speech; its cadence, phrasing and inflection. Listening to her at what I believe is at the correct speed brings an even greater poignancy to her words.
Wanted to share that I was listening to the audio “ Judy imitates Marlene” and her voice is the same there as it is these tapes. I wonder if this was indeed her accurate speaking voice or if the other tape was lowered as well. It isn’t the best quality. I find her speaking voice fascinating because it was changed so many times over the years and in each separate show/ interview, not just as it naturally lowered with age.
The very sad thing about this recording is that Judy was right about it all. Even today, People only hear & dwell on the negatives instead of all the positives of this great Legend's Life. Even Lorna produced a bio pic of her own mother that used Judy's life as a Platform to thrust Her (Lorna's) own "Poor Me" story. Even her narration in her TV bio She always it about Her & not Judy. Someone to be fair & balanced & tell this great Legend's story. John Fricke is that Man. He's always been fair!
I don't give a Fook what anybody said about you ,I will always love you judy garland !!!°° you were hurt ,real ,hurt, I love everything you have done as an actress ,singer and mother,I love ❤️ u
Intelligent people don’t believe the lies... they question everything.... Judy was one such person.... I hear you Judy... I too have been hurt from things people tried to do to my reputation
Actually, I would recommend watching "What Killed Judy Garland," uploaded by gflauk, taken entirely from an episode of "Dead Men Talking" by Biography Channel. It goes into great detail about how she became addicted to amphetamines, barbituates, and alcohol during the course of her career.
Yeah, that and all the singing she did. She put everything she had into her singing. Liza's voice is the same way. Her voice has dropped significantly as well.
The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies, literally have it memorized from start to finish. But this makes my heart weep; our ancestral women endured so much, too much, much more than they deserved or were equipped to handle. I pray I embody the faith imbued in the strength and courage it took for them to survive and against all odds, THRIVE. Many blessings...you're never forgotten
She always was a contralto--when she was younger she pitched her speaking voice higher, and women's voices always deepen as they get older. Hers was fatigued and got husky too.
Judy was a human being with a terrible childhood and at times crippling addictions, who also was blessed with an incredible talent which the world was entertained by for a brief window in history. Ironically everyone who wants to say she was a victim are also the ones who watch/watched her, and others like her being used up by Hellywood. The sad dichotomy here is, that If there were no stars, no incredible talents, there would simply be no victims. We would not have enjoyed her talent and the talent of many others if not for the studios of that era and more importantly the STAGE PARENTS that allowed their children to be offered up as "sacrifices" and to provide income for themselves (until the Jackie Coogan law) ,Just saying, RIP Judy, I really hope you are finally at peace. Thank you for sharing your incredible instrument with us. As for the victims like her and so many others in the past like her? This is still going on today, and as long as there are stage parents and people who make money off of their children and or people's adult talents, it always will, since most of us still watch and support the entertainment industry. RIP Frances.

Judy was a superstar..she was affected by celebrity just Diana was..she deserved to be treated better...she was a gem but sometimes forgot her own power..she has that power now. Bless Judy...ur missed and luved🌈🌌🌌🌌
So profound. Such raw anger, truth and beauty of a woman. A true woman. Thank you
I know what she WANTS to say, but she holds back.
Loved her always...from 10 to 74...queen of my heart....so much talent...so much wisdom ...so many gifts to share...amazing always. 🌹💕🌹
This is it ,the real ,the raw judy ,I will always love e her ,my childhood is about the w.o oz and never will I 4get
this is why she was so loved, Judy was so terribly raw honest about her life, she hid nothing from her public.
She is so sad she makes me cry.
Judy completely raw and true...Excellent, Thank You...
I wish I could hear the rest of what she had to say ❤️
Judy's voice makes me sad. So much pain.. we care about you Judy!! Your music lives with us forever!!!
Rest Now. We will always love you
Poor beautiful soul, ❤️you will never be forgotten! But loved and admired for all the love and smiles you brought into the world. They can never hurt you now that we know truth,Rest In Peace!
This is a VERY powerful audio and is good for helping to inspire to cleanse ones self.
Thank you for sharing.
She was taken from this world so soon.. we miss you so much Judy 🌈❤️
She was a strong goddamn woman. And a great mom.
What an amazing star...this recording is a tearjerker and heartbreaker.
You mean MarK Herron.
6:41 she says Mark...
Then she found out he was gay and just a fanboy.
Imagine if she knew that her husband (Marc Herron) would eventually be cavorting with Liza’s husband, Peter Allen. Neither mother nor daughter seemed to be able to pick good husbands for themselves.
@@jj-py8rv RIGHT! 😬
I wish she could have written that book!
A sweet and true dear lady and Mama. I love you and LiZa always says how much she adores you. Love Always, Betsey
This made me cry
My mom long passed always cried when talking about Judy, so sad...
bless you judy :(((( heartbreaking to hear :(
I’m sorry she had the wrong people around her in her life, she deserved better, I hope she’s in peace, because she seems like a lovely soul…
I love you Judy - yesterday today forever!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
JUDY HAS THE RIGHT TO SPEAK HER MIND.
I just want to fix things for her. Just to go back in time and make sure that she was treated in an appropriate manner, starting with her horrible mother and difficult childhood. Poor beautiful, talented Judy. May she Rest In Peace.
Judy Garland... sua grandeza supera tudo que você teve que enfrentar. Você sempre amou seus três filhos
Judy Garland... teve altos e baixos em sua vida... mas o amor pelos filhos superou sua dignidade como grande mãe.
I’m glad I found this though it’s heart breaking.
What a great talent and human being. Her fault. if any, is has the medical condition of addiction certainly caused by Her mother and the studios. She had no chance given the times to seek true help. People did use Her and she had every right to feel angry. She was a huge talent and that can never change. What a sweet soul.
This IS Judy. Listen to some of the other audio tracks on youtube. She was recording things for her autobiography, she died before it was written...
This is NOT a fake! She made these bc she was going to write a book.
Yes, it's definitely legit. It's her voice, and it was pretty well known that she'd recorded her narrative in preparation for a book she intended to write.
Sadness. She was human just like us. She was a beautiful star and I'm heartbroken hearing it all
She was absolutely worn out yet no one helped her. They just kept pushing her to do more. Rest In Peace Judy, you deserve peace xx
Judy, Love you precious woman!💗
God is with you and you are with God!
R.I.P.
JACK ARR KNDA SOLD HER OUT BY TEELING HER WORST SIDE WHEN I THINK HE COULD HAVE HELED
i wouldn't go that far jack paar threw her under the bus in his memoirs (you can hear them on youtube somewhere). Though to be honest the things he said about judy and how he reacted painted him in a worse light than her
@@laraeejohnson7880 Jack para was trash
Her appearances on Paar were fantastic as she told quite a few hilarious stories. The woman was extremely bright and a marvelous raconeteur. It wasn't fair of Paar to rip her up as he did.
You had everything..but, support, and real love.
Your mother should have protected you as a child.
Your husbands and friends should have helped you off meds and booze.
You are mad because it's over...and you know it.
The fine man, you speaks of let her you die in a bathroom in London.
This is an American tragedy.
Talent like hers is so special...heartbreaking..
It was Mickey Deans, not Mark Herron who left her to die....other than that you are spot on. ;)
astorkitty If only she was saved :'(
@@astorkitty I don't think that Mickey guy left her to die.
@@kimmyhawk5466 Mickey was gay too.
Sad, but true! One of the side effects of the drugs she was taking was paranoia, which is obvious here.
Drained by takers till she died. Too talented and young when she left us.
I love Judy n it makes me sad to know how bad it was towards the end of her life
Nothing like the pain of an addict . She was used ; people stole from her because if she fought them they would expose her adddictions
0 dislikes....thats judy garland!! LOVE her!
My dance studio has used this with Over The Rainbow playing into a contemporary dance, it’s beautiful and really moving, every time I see it it’s gorgeous
thank you for adding this, very emotional in many ways
No one can ever hurt You again Judy. You are safe with Jesus, rest peacefully.💞
wow, really sad.
The beauty is one thing she said,
" They would not get her. "
It doesn't matter how she died.
@@bruno.prieto Good points. There's so much we learn after the fact so often that I've become a lot more conspiratorial lol
@@bruno.prieto but they continued to addict her to make money off her no?
Like many artists she has gone through a severe world of industry and usually people that surround those artists are definetely ruthless abusers. Artists like her ...talented artists are being handled by mean people for money and fame.
Ho' Minha querida como fico triste ao saber o quanto você sofreu com esses monstros. Porem você continua sendo amada descanse em paz.
What an incredible woman just as powerful and her speech as she was in her voice. She's so correct
Feb 2020 still so much love
@@agirlhasnoname6637 she was 16, almost 17 in oz....not 14
First I heard it was on Stern
I love her. ♥️
That's very interesting! Thanks
Absolutely heart breaking...
People keep saying she was “always longing love from a man” and “daddy issues” but her dad did die when she was 13 and she was very heartbroken
Yet somehow she managed to marry several times and at least two of those 'husbands' were gay.
Lorna is trash
I don't give a Fook what anybody said about you ,I will always love you judy garland !!!°° you were hurt ,real ,hurt, I love everything you have done as an actress ,singer and mother,I love ❤️ u
So sad that each time she got involved with a new man she believed he actually loved her when they were bums looking to leech off her
A fan of Judy always. Sad,disturbing, depressing. Not the glam life portrayed by tv and press. Fame, fortune and despair.
Intelligent people don’t believe the lies... they question everything.... Judy was one such person.... I hear you Judy... I too have been hurt from things people tried to do to my reputation
her problems are put on her by others.abused scapegoated ripped off ,and through away.when she was fit she could mesmerize an entire crowd.
I bet she had very bad Adrenal Fatigue! I know the feeling & how it appears to others!
yup. same. Takes all the fight out of you doesn't it
That poor woman what she had to endure no human should
Love you Judy Garland you are very talented and a lovely person and a beautiful singer and a beautiful actress and a beautiful mom March 27th 2020
Judy Garland I💚U
Iam not a celebrity but Somehow I can feel your pain.
Struggling being victimized for no particular reason.
Sid Luft really gets it here
It is her voice - the speed is slightly slow, which is why the pitch is a little low.
She always was a contralto--when she was younger she pitched her speaking voice higher, and women's voices always deepen as they get older. Hers was fatigued and got husky too.
@@happyclam1266 i'm not sure about the speed but the pitch is defo off
Judy was a human being with a terrible childhood and at times crippling addictions, who also was blessed with an incredible talent which the world was entertained by for a brief window in history.
