Great video! I have this same type stereo in my 2001 Tribute, but it stopped working altogether several years ago. I also have several CDs stuck inside of it that I was never able to get out of it - nothing about the stereo works - it is just like it is unplugged. I understood that there might be a fuse attached to the backside of the stereo, but didn't see one on the stereo in your video. I was thinking that perhaps it may be just a blown fuse. Is there a fuse on the back of the stereo?? Incidentally, I checked all the other fuses in the fuse compartment for the rest of the electrical functions of the Tribute, and they all were fine. I think the specs call for a 10A fuse for the stereo, but all 10A fuses were fine and not damaged. The only possible fuse I had not yet checked would be a fuse attached to the backside of the stereo itself, if it has one......
I have a 2003 Tribute and the pins would not work for me. I watched another video where they released the front panel. I had to use two screwdrivers to push in a lever on either side of the radio and then pull out the radio. Was kind of frustrating. Once I had the radio out, I could see why the pins do not work. There were two clips on each side of the radio and there were 5 holes on each side as well. From the position of the levers, It would be best to use the bottom two sets of holes.
I have a 2001 Tribute. My CD player has 2 CD's in it that won't come out. I hadn't used the CD player in a few years and had trouble getting it to accept the CD's and play them. Now 2 of 4 won't come out, won't play, can't load any in. It's like the CD player isn't being recognized anymore. Called my local Car Toys and they said the only way to remove them is to destroy the CD player. Any advise? I really want my CD's back. They are signed copies.
I used 4 darts. Poke the bottom 2 holes, skip ones above because they're the same lock, then the 2 above that for the second lock. Push all outwardly like the video You can use more darts but 4 was enough for me. Radio slides out easily when it's right
These tools failed me and I read they fail many others too. I found this video ua-cam.com/video/BjlaGDum8C4/v-deo.html and his process was pretty simple and worked for me. Don't waste your money on those little tools.
excellent instruction! This is possibly the best instructional video I’ve seen on UA-cam to date.
Do you have the wiring information with this Mazda 2002 Tribute? That is the Logic Controller 3262.

Thank for making this video. Explanation and demonstration was very helpful. Now, later this week, I'll give it a try.

Do you need a code for the radio?
I just changed one out and no you do not. Make sure the car is unlocked before you start however.
Thank you! Really appreciative!
Thank you for this video.
Do you actually need those tools? Can i substitute them with something else?
