Harper Russell Never too late! I started dancing when I was four but I had to stop(tap). But then I started again at eleven. I don't do tap but I do lyrical and acro. I'm twelve now and it's been really easy for me to catch up with my classmates that have been doing this for years.

My dance teacher has a strict ballet jazz and acro dress code of ballet pink convertible tights, black long sleeve Leo, tight ballet bun in line with your chin, NO JEWELRY except small stud earrings or wedding/promise ring, light pink ballet shoes and black jazz shoes. I’m only aloud to wear any fancy or different Leo’s on a specific class on Fridays.

Any recs for legwarmers that don't stretch out? I have so many pairs that stretch at the top and are constantly falling down! I put them in the dryer and that works for 1 wear.

At my dance studio for jazz we have to wear tights and a leotard ( then jazz shoes and jazz shorts which are optional
What brand jazz shoes do you get?
Target also has bun donuts for a similar price, they have them in a couple of sizes for different hair thicknesses and lengths!

I take up rythmic gymnastics... In rythmic gymnastics we wear the half-shoe, not always in class but we do need them for performances and competition... BTW love uuuu❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I used to do gymnastics and it was really great because we could wear whatever leo we wanted no matter the level. Sometimes on Fridays we had to wear a special one with our gym name.

The only thing with my dance company is that we have certain colors for each level of ballet, I mean I can get different styles, but the colors are limited

those lyrical dance shoes are actually used in rhythmic gymnastics and are pretty good(i train rg),just choose good.size when you're buying them so the elastics doesn't like hurt you

I have black Capezio E-series jazz shoes and I really like them, but make sure you know that the sizing is different from street shoes.

It's never to late to start dancing again. You might not get to a professional level as someone who is already a bit older but it's always a good hobby.
I just stared a basics class in collage, I've never danced before AT ALL and I'm 20....and I'm legally blind ( walk outside with a white cane so I don't fall down stairs ) so if you wanna dance just for fun or for apareiataion of it, for fitness, whatever the reason, if you can find a class you can.

But mine are also dirty and used, hehe, I need another pair :) I got them years ago in a shop where they sell second hand clothes and shoes for dancers. For a 5 yr old 3rd year in comp. they gave us a choice of acro ,leaps and turms ,or level up technique jazz and ballet are in the packet ,I want to ask if contemporary is optional instead of those if not what would you recommend ?

Makes should stay with black tights. You can wear a leotard if you wish, but please wear the tights OVER your leotard. A white T shirt is preferred by many studios though.

You can but not for ballet class, if at home I reccomend them or half soles because they are easier to turn with. Ballet class won’t let you

I did ballet and jazz when I was like 8-11 but I stopped going because my dance teacher had lots of students and she didn’t really have time for all her students so my mom took me out of that dance class. I’m 12 now but I want to start dance again and do ballet it’s always been my dream to go on point shoes but since I forgot half of the dance moved and their names I was wondering if you can give me some advice. I also wanted to do contemporary and jazz but I’m scared
I would definitely get into a class of some sort and experiment with new dances as well. Auti also has some wonderful videos for vocabulary and advice that I’d definitely check out as well.

Sometimes you can look up dance shops near you. The shop Auti got them from is discount dance.

You can start ballet at any age, but the younger you start, the more experience you'll have in the future and the more flexible you'll be because your body is still developing.
So no, it is never too late to start.

Of course, just remember it's ok to make mistakes and not know alot about dance. If you just relax and focus you can slowly improve on to the next level of dance and become more confident and comfortable 😁

Julia It should be fine as long as you have a good brand. The only problem is it won’t strengthen your feet and arch as much as leather shoes do.

@@elliem7912 thank you so much for your encouragement! Im also a little worried about my flexibility. I used to stretch everyday, and I was super flexible but then I stopped. (major regret) and im a little worried about taking jazz and ballet but not being flexible enough.
Isabella Logan Flexibility won’t be a huge issue when you start again, because you will be working to regain basic tequnique. Flexibility will eventually become important though, so I would start stretching again, that way you will be ahead of the game when you start needing to have more flexibility. Remember to stretch gradually and safely, and good luck!

PLEASE HELP! I ordered my leotard, half-soles, and my jazz shoes about three weeks ago from online, but they STILL haven't come yet! MY DANCE CLASS IS IN THREE DAYS! But the dance class I'm going to said I can wear, leotards or any form fitted dance attire, so, do you have any suggestions on what I can wear if my leotard and shoes don't arrive?

@@lola.kb. Everything turned out great! I was getting all nervous for nothing, luckily they didn't learn our dance yet, and we did measurements, the only thing that wasn't so fortunate was we did improv 0-0
But this week we learned a short routine and made up the rest with a partner, so yea everything was good
