Next time try train to Melbourne, suburban train to Huntingdale station, 4 km ride from there to Heart hospital. If you need head space on the way home (visiting hospitals do that to you) try riding the Djerring trail back to caufield station.
I use Webb Bridge, Normanby Rd, Whiteman St, Under the freway by the casino, Kavanagh St, Southbank Blvd, Linlithgow Ave to bypass the CBD. Pretty much exclusively off road but again no wayfinding really.
I wonder if open street map would do better with the bike paths (used by OsmAnd and some other mobile apps). If not, you can always contribute to to so it's better in future.
You would have been better continuing to flinders street and picking up the cycle path from there. As the previous comment says the djerring trail is great to Caulfield.
I loath bike paths. They are the most horridly signed things on planet earth. Trying to get directions from Google Maps while riding on them is equally frustrating and the few time's i've used them I find I have to stop and look at the map. They should be colour coded or number coded...like highways. ALso yes...pedestrians in town don't give a crap about bike specific areas. Though lots of cyclist don't give a rats about pedestrians on the crown promenade section. (seems you have the same issue). Roads. Respect for going through that weather for the video. I'd def have cuaght the train out to a close station lol
great video :) loving your channel, best wishes for your dad to beat his illness!

That's what I do! Good advice
fun to see you ride my local bike paths! i think it's funny that the scotchman's creek trail goes right through the middle of a golf course lol
Yeah, that was a bit random. I had to double check I was on the right track there!
Great video bro, hope your Dad feels better soon!
Thanks
Welcome to Melbourne! Hope dad makes a full recovery.
Thanks. He’s back home now, making a recovery.
@@bikeroutebuddy Good! Takes time. I got a bike partially because of these kinds of issues.

Lucky to get your bike on the train. Normally all the space is occupied by illegal delivery bikes.
You spelled 'other cyclists' wrong.
@@jessta314 cycling would imply some effort on the part of the rider. They are electric motorbikes
There were a few on the train on the way home.
