This is a review of the second version of Cobra's frogmen, the 1992 Eels. These brightly colored divers are mostly remembered for coming with a robot shark that shot missiles. In 1992, there was an emphasis on water based action; the Eels were cross-sold with the Cobra RAT speed boat and had direct opposites with Wet-Suit version 3 and the GI Joe Barracuda submarine. - Розваги

Where can I find this MacDowan dude on UA-cam?
Sorry, MacDowin. I'll probably find him now.
Cobra Ells the first version is the best version and the Hydro-Viper is cool but the number 2 version just doesn't have the same type of design or effort in the building design, Destro's frogman Undertow was also made awesome, so the first version of Ells was one of the best versions,
@Albert Menendez I respect Hooded Cobra Commander 788 for all of the sociocultural references he makes,
that connect the realm of G.I. JOE to the real world. That seems to be his forte.
But this strength at the same time is his
main weakness, because when it comes to the colourfulness & goofiness that also is
a characteristic of this franchise, I feel he
sometimes gets way too serious, and this ultimately limits his scope in the fantasy department.
Maybe with a little more brightness & boldness in imagination, HCC788 could also make that leap into the fantastic, and…
take a walk on the wild & crazy side.
8 months later yep still love him...92 EELS YEAH!!!!!
When I was a kid, I loved the bright colors on this figure. Sure, it's goofy, but it's also very eye catching.
I like this Figure and the Robotic shark is awesome
I don't mind the neon on 90s joes and some looked crazy cool in neon for me the EEL II is cool I really like him, in saying that I'd love to see one in the colours of the og Eel plus I love the head design. Good Show 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
Miss you bro
Cobra is awesome
Great review. As an 1988-94 era guy I think the '92 Eel is one of the best 90s figures (design-wise and play-wise).
If you take the DIC series as canon, Cobra uses the robot shark there... but that is a big if...
Nice vid Kev! Bravo.
And COBRAAAAA!
I still have it with me and has a broken leg. My very first gi joe. Love from india.
Building an army of Cobra robot sharks is pretty epic tbh... I’ve been taken back by lots of armies of Vipers and Blue Shirts...but I think seeing those in the right display would blow them away aesthetically
This Eel is super cool when I first saw him I thought Meh og Eel is better but this guy has really grown on me great look great accessories and yep great colours...love this guy
I totally forgot about the shark accessory ! Good times.
I would buy it just for the shark and put it along with Eel v1.
My thoughts exactly!
This was an awesome figure from a great year for G.I. Joes. This was the version I wanted. Instead, I had to make do with the Battle Corps v3 Eel from 1993. That version didn't come with the shark.
Love your videos
Cobra eel version 2 my grandmother bought this I was not not until I've had a good grade and my mother would give me the figure
Fantastic review and enjoyed having a small part in it! Convergence IV is shaping up to be an incredible month.
one of the very few cobra troop I never got.
I like the shark idea, especially if it can be stealthy.
good show!!!
I loved it! Thank you, Kevin!
Awesome review as usual Kevin
Nice job with this review and getting cameos galore.
One of the last good figures of the 90s. Thanks for the review.
I think the shark is cool. The neon citrus less so. It's so bright you loose all the details of the sculpt.
I love the Hydro Viper & I even made use of that webbed left hand & his animal companion w/ a small drop of rubber cement & the Hydro viper has a living propulsion device. ..
Guy at 7:14 's beard looks like he lost a dare, lol.
They're so cool, they even have their own theme song. " Eels up inside ya" from Mighty Boosh.
A great review for a figure I could not find a reason to add to my collection even to this very day. With my love for the V1 Eel and Undertow figures this is just a sad sign of what was the failing years of the original toyline. However this review was actually more interesting in its content and workmanship than the toy itself. This is the first time I have ever noted a review as better than the toy itself.
I could really see this robot shark as an underwater jet propulsion pack and deployable drone, but yeah it's a goofy concept
great review I always wondered if hasbro had also missed a tampoed cobra symbol for the belt buckle on these guys too as the flat design seems like there should of had some sorta symbol there. also I love the Robo-shark it was a interesting change to some the more natural animal pack ins after all desert scorpions large scorpion was totally believable too lol
while version 1 is better I do like this figure.
I'm gonna be honest I have dunked this guy underwater for a lot of storylines.
Its a shark version of the B.A.T.S! imagine a battalion of B.A.T.S. marching along the sea floor, escorted by the robot sharks! To quote SHIPWRECK; "Sufferin' seaweed!"
Used to have this figure
The robot sharks look cool to army build. The V2 Eels just don't look interesting enough. The only bright side for it is that they look good driving/riding the Hammer Head and the Bugg. Nice review overall.
Question people: is $15 a good price for complete, never played with gi joes with file cards?
I paid $20.00 for a complete Viper vs2 (loose) with rifle and back pack. No cracks on the elbow joint, gun hand not worn-out, leg joints tight and paint job was clean and crisp. O ring was probably replaced since this figure is well over 30 years old when I bought it in 2014. Definitely worth it!
I had no idea these were eels. They seem like they would be Cesspools divers.
Now they have subs shaped like dolphins and killer whales
A weird Comment If I may, on your Background Display, is that a Low Light file card left of Sci-Fi? I never had that particular version of the figure so I am not sure
Yes, that is the V2 Low-Light.
@@Boojkill Thanks! I have version 5 not on card so wasn't sure.
It's better than an ill-tempered, mutated sea bass.
I want sharks with friggin' laser beams.
That shark back pack 😂😂😂😂😂
Display the shark as an under water drone.
Cool figure, but not a fan of those colors. Prefer version 1.
Fun is what all toys should be, even if it jumps with a shark.
I'd definitely army build the robot sharks. Not really into Eels (V2).
Ugh the vibrant blue and yellow colors for a cobra makes no sense lol oh early 90s wtf
