I genuinely think Russel was actually disrespectful towards the team, he's literally directly taking them back to the championship the way he let's them play
Tried to manage them like they were Barca or AC Milan. He needed to grind to survive in the prem, but he wanted to play their way up the table. You can't do that with inadequate players.
Exactly. You can't play the way that got you to the PL, or you're going right back down. What keeps you up is parking the bus, scrapping, and celebrating draws as victories.
@tomscott4438 I'm a Forest fan so I've just been through it. First season back we scrapped for our lives, second season we scrapped against the big boys and were a bit more expansive when playing those around us, and this season we've been able to bring in a couple of defenders and midfielders who are comfortable playing out from the back and its allowed our attackers to shine. Villa, Brighton and Bournemouth have all done it a similar way in recent seasons. If you try and run before you can walk in the prem it'll eat you up. Just ask Norwich and Leeds.
@ciaranmccormack4434 they played hughton ball there first 2 seasons when they got promoted before switching to potter so yes they did scrape before they strived
As a saints fan we knew it would be difficult to adapt however his philosophy and inability to change was his downfall. Fans have stuck with him until now. Try putting up with 1 win in 16 yet we still turn up home and away
Sacking a manger won't make the Rubbish players good. Sick of seeing managers sacked when it's the players on the pitch who need to showup and play the game. Those players should be ashamed of themselves, most of them just phoned in their game and picked up the check. It's the sporting directors who should be being sacked if anyone. Appalling.
Daniel Farke must secretly be pleased that Leeds lost the play off final to Southampton in May. The gap is now so wide and so much money is needed to compete in the PL, that I think it is time that the season ticket holders of the top 3 Championship clubs got a chance to vote on whether they want their club to get promoted (and probably struggle), or stay in the Championship for another season.
Spot on the gap is huge,Russ did well in the championship but premiership was always going to be tough, his style of football didn't win many fans, what manager will want to take over a team that looks doomed already,I watched the highlights and the toxic atmosphere must affect the saints players, whoever takes over U need players on side and most importantly the fans who travel home and away, Russ Martin will find it hard to get that motivation for new club,U can c it's drained him how much he wanted to succeed at the saints,it hurt him big time when my club Norwich released him as our club captain,he is a proud man and this will hurt him,but in football you can be a hero 1 minute and villain the next,it will happen at many a club, that's the business of football 🤬🤣🙏💛💚🔰🏴
So where does this leave Saints??? As a neutral all I see is the inepness of the squad who did not have the fight to give Russell Martin 100% !!! Too many went missing in games !!! O.k. you may say the quality was not there but quality only goes so far !!! You need heart , determination & fight !!! Blame the players not Russell
Not in this life time,Pep is unsackable.he is only a human and allowed to have a one bad season.Winnig 7 league titles in the last 8 years is no child's play
Southampton chairman should be sacked too as you cannot just blame manager they have signed no top premier quality player they have championship quality players not premier league ones
I think he knew that he was going to be sacked. Perhaps he should take some time off because looks so knackered after the 5-0 thrashing at home to Spurs.
@@tomtomtombossaand we also have Everton and Newcastle fans calling for the sacking of their managers, so we may not have even seen the end of things yet
Everyone knew it and he was classy enough that he did not even lie about it in the interview after the match one hour ago. Like the others who says that they have the full support.
Bollocks mate, he was telling them to play out like Barca or Liverpool/City. Just because he was an English manager doesn't mean he is not responsible.
Southampton finally got guts !Now with a proper manager, they can avoid relegation and climb up the table! Either go for Potter or Moyes or if ambitious enough go for a manager from South America but avoid Soljkjaer at all costs!
Why keep trying to pass out from the back when your getting battered every week was utter stupidity. He should have known this was coming once the fans turned on him.
Too late to change things. It’s a combination of poor management by the owners, the manager, coaching staff and players who are just not good enough to play in the premier league. I could see last night v spurs the players body language which said it all. They knew that they had been outclassed. The key thing for me as a saints fan is to go down to the Championship with some fight and pride. Try and avoid the lowest points record set by Derby. I suspect the owners will appoint a cheap manager and coaching staff as saints are a club lacking any ambition. You feel sorry for the fans as we have been the whipping boys of the premier league. Poor planning and not getting any players in during the summer with premier league experience, and RMs tactics was are downfall. Best response now is to beat Liverpool on Wednesday in the EFL cup!
They should have sacked him before when they lost the big games a games good games, but no disboard wanted to stick with him in stick with what they got. Now you are so kind the awards that you're getting because now. Southampton deserve to go down because Russell Martin wasn't a primary shift manager and a chair. Russell Martin reports on Russell Martin being sacked from his own job at Southampton. He's moved on swiftly.
he a busy man multi tasking lol
i cant unsee it 😂😂
😅😂😂. They do look alike in a way

Promoted teams need to start being realistic about whether they’re going to stay up or not
So in other words what you are calling for is the American franchise system where there is no promotion and relegation

Extremely funny.

Plymouth will be looking for a manager soon I reckon
They will be a team called Martin O'Neill and win the world cup with England.

2 managers sacked on the same weekend! Wild.

I don't understand modern premier league clubs... I don't see this rapid turnover of managers in any of the other teams in Europe.
Mourinho has a few options Wolves, Southampton and maybe M. City?
He's literally said he doesn't want a club in europe competitions
Time for Jose to orchestrate another sacking at Fenerbahce, take a fat severence check and move back to Premiere league 😂❤

This is what happened when you think you are pep guaridola, keep playing from the back all the time with average defenders is a recipe for disaster
Pep's never been in a lower PL club. He's nothing special. Would love to see him take the job at Southampton...lol
One thing to understand the difficulties faced by the club but to ignore the failures and simply replicate them is profoundly ignored reality.
Less points at this stage of the season than Sheffield United last season. Damn.
