- Chinese president Xi Jinping in his response to U.S president Joe Biden's warning over dominance of weak countries has said that his country do not intend to bully or seek hegemony in the world as he addressed the United Nations General Assembly last night. Jinping said China wants peace and cooperation and called for dialouge to resolve the disputes. The conciliatory tone of Jinping came a few hours after Biden vowed to stand up to any attempt by stronger countries to dominate the weak, a veiled reference to China. Watch this report for more.

...even the tone of voice, gestures and delivery are miles apart..Biden's was excited, rapid and touches on so many subjects, while Xi's was calm, measured, concise and focused on the pandemic fight, development and peace and cooperation.

It doesn't attempt to "liberate" (insert country in the middle east or S. America) They focused on business which others see as a threat/competition. We should focus on American innovation and the middle class - not war after war. At the very least, we should use economics and not military threats towards our business competition.

I want to explain about the Democracy that President Xi was saying because some may confused by "China is not democratic!".
In Mandarin, Democracy (民主）= 民 min（citizen) 主 zhu（Main Priority, First)
No matter whatever ideologies your country using, as long as your government main priority is for all citizens, your citizens is enjoying "民主“， democracy, citizen first。
I am from Malaysia, my votes doesnt really matter because all of our politicians have their own personal agendas.. so votes alone doesn't guarantee democracy.
And i visited china few times, from big city like Beijing to smaller Muslim city like XiAn.
Go visit there then you will understand what kind of Democracy their citizens enjoying. :)

For instance, if you were from the countryside and lived in the city, your children are not allowed to attend the public schools in the cities.

Sure there are people who are not, but majority of the Chinese I work with are so proud of the nation mainly cuz of their govern has really taken care of their welfare and modernize their country. Chinese people enjoy more democracy than Americans! The right to peaceful protest is written into the Chinese constitution. The Chinese CPC government is very responsive to the people's wishes because the CPC earns the legitimacy to govern by responding to the wishes of the people. The Chinese government is therefore always reforming itself! In America your democracy is not real because you get to elect your leaders into power one day every 4 years and during the interval between elections you can protest till the cows come home but achieve nothing as your government is only responsive to the top 1% capitalists, most of whom own the military industrial complex. Also, Chinese politicians have to prove their ability to govern at the local village level before they can get promoted to the provicial level etc. Thus it took 40 years for Xi Jinping to rise from an ordinary cadre to his position. Local officials are elected by the people and they can get fired for doing a poor job by the people.

Democracy in China means a different thing than democracy in the west.
In the west it ultimately means universal suffrage, directly electing your leaders. It doesn't matter whether these leaders can deliver what the population wants.
In China, democracy means delivering what the population wants. The leaders are selected on their abilitiy and competency to deliver and getting the job done.
People are asked what they are most worried about in their society. Climate change? Done. Inequality? Done. Corruption? Done. That is what democracy is about in China.
Ask yourself this: Do you care more about who is in charge? Or do you care more about seeing the things you want to happen actually happen in your society?

We can say that both statements of the leaders are partly true derived from facts and their personal convictions. Although they can also be denying the obvious realities in what's going on in our globe, where major powers can enforce standards and norms to other countries depending on their national interests too. In fact China is in the process of being hegemonic towards their territorial and economic ideas while the U.S. military and business empire are seen as causes for other nations' agitation and reactions depending on their views. Yet to many people the real measure in knowing the protagonist or antagonist of this world is to hear and see first as to "What" will be the effect of their foreign policies towards people of other nations that are related to their safety, basic rights, political and economic stability and dependencies that are more important compared to mere speeches and ideologues it only follows.
