1:18 this is not the yellow wall. The yellow wall is on the other side. This is the "nordtribüne" the northstand where family blocks and stuff is. The yellow wall is the "Südtribüne" or Southstand and usually filled at this point like 1 hour before the game

So sad you make the "american" mistake by leaving early. The reception for the substitue Morey (after multiple severe inhuries) gave me goosebumps.
Explanation of the protests:
Backstory:
There were/are debates about a foreign investor for the league helping with the promotion and getting 10% of the future
revenue in exchange for 1 billion dollars.
In Germany we are very critical of foreign investors as they tend to split the game day to maximize revenue and many football investors are affiliated with states from the middle east where we have an ethical problem with.
So what happened:
The League knowing that in many cases the fans would pressure their clubs into voting against the investor deal decided to make a secret anonymous vote which passed with the bare minimum. However quickly the clubs who voted against the deal went public and stated their vote and by doing this we realized one thing:
One of the votes came from a man named Martin Kind he himself is an investor in Hannover 96 (usually that is forbidden it’s a long story to long to get into, but to put it mildly he is very controversial in his club) and acted as a representative of the club in this vote and what we found out was that he was instructed by the club to vote against the proposal but he went against the clubs decision and used
the anonymous vote to vote for the deal thereby securing the bare minimum to pass the resolution.
Afterwards the fans went wild because that clearly violated a basic concept of german football and after the classic protests and banners were ignored they started throwing tennis balls.
What are they advocating for?
1. They want the vote to be repeated but this time not in secrecy but publically so we know who voted for what. (this one especially has the wide backing of regular football fans as well).
2. Many of them
also want no investor to begin with as they fear the aforementioned split of game day and influence by a foreign government.
Dfl wants to talk to the fans... AFTER the Poll behind closed doors..

The 2 Supporter groups are chanting "Scheiss DFB", which translates to "Shit DFB", for allowing a vote to allow for a League Sponsor ship. It would be like hearing "Fuck NFL" from the fans at a Cowboys-Eagles game. It has been a constant protest with tennis balls and chocolate gold coins. I believe every SG(supporter group) is protesting it. Especially at the clubs that voted to allow the League Sponsorship. Still think you should go to the Frankenderby game between Nurnberg and F*rth or the Friend game between Schalke and Nurnberg. AUF GEHTS NURNBERG!!!

Ich war unter den Auswärtsblock und die Freiburger waren laut aber war echt schwach von der Süd es wurde wieder nur im block 12-14 Stimmung gemacht. Die Stimmung wird leider immer sclechter jedes Spiel aber vielleicht war es ürgentwo lauter wo man die Freiburger nicht hören konnte. (Ich bin jedes Spiel im Tempel und kann schon sagen, wenn es laut war und wenn nicht)@@MisterLPmaker

Ja das mag sein. Viele sind noch von den Kloppo Zeiten beeinflusst, wo Dortmund wahrscheinlich das beste Publikum in Europas Top 5 Ligen hatte. Mittlerweile ist das schon abgeflacht. Nichts desto trotz hat Dortmund immer noch eine der besten Fankulturen Europas.
