👏👏👏 Thank you for sharing your talents with us, Don Kim. I like the elastic pocket with the pleats - which you show how to easily make. I doubt that I would have thought to backtack at the pleats when sewing on the pocket. And trimming the corners of the other pocket to eliminate bulk is another thing I may have overlooked. @@sheilaroch5548 Unless otherwise stated, Don Kim always uses a 1cm seam.
All measurements are given in this video.
But there is a "tricky" part of assembly where I hope to be able to help you.
It seems to be easiest if you have the center points marked on pieces, as Don Kim marks the notches.
Let me know if I am unclear, please!
The quilting of the fabric with the fusible batting seems important to give structure to the finished bag.
The body of the bag starts with a rectangle of 30cm by 56cm.
(Don Kim uses a 10cm diameter circle to round the corners.)
Fusible batting and the lining are also the exact same size.
The first inner pocket begins at 30cm by 16cm (before the elastic and pleats).
The second inner pocket starts at 23cm by 28cm.
The two top cover pieces (also fusible batting and lining pieces) measure 44cm by 7cm.
The zipper is 42cm.
The two pieces sewn on the ends of the zipper start out at 4cm by 7cm each. These will be the part of the bag where you can attach a shoulder strap, if you would like to use one.
The two handle pieces begin at 52cm by 10cm each.
The handle will end up being 2.5cm wide. You are to fold each raw edge to the center, and fold this in half to seal the raw edges when sewn.
It is okay not to tuck in the raw ends (on the long ends of the handles) at this point, since the ends will be covered by small side pieces.
With 15cm sewn down on each side, this will give you 22cm usable length for each handle.
The two side pieces begin at 14cm by 15cm each. Fusible batting and lining pieces are the same size.
A 6cm diameter circle is used for the curves at the corners. (These curved parts will end up at the bottom of the bag sides - the top of the sides, along the zipper, will stay straight).
The bias strip is 5cm wide, long enough to go around the 30cm by 56cmn piece of the bag body.
To assemble, mark the center of the smaller side pieces (rounded bottom).
These will match up with the center of the 56cm long side on the outer part of the bag.
The center of the top cover (you must have the zipper opened) will match with the center of the 10cm side of the outside of the bag. (Remember, this is the part that now has the flat part of the smaller side pieces - the rounded part of the side pieces matched with the longer sides.)
Match each of the two top cover piece's center to each 10cm side's center mark.
With all center marks matched, fit the bag top cover/zipper piece around the body of the bag.
Sew all with the 1cm seam.
Fit the binding strip around and sew down. (It has already been sewn in the lining by 1cm to give a clean edge. You will have enough of the 4cm width left to fold the other edge down by 1cm to cover a raw edge, then fold the middle part over the 1cm of seam along each side seam of the bag.)
Sew the binding strip around the entire inside of the bag.
(I wish I could freehand draw the flowers as easily as Don Kim does. These make such a nice visual accent for this bag.)
When assembled, the bag will measure 28cm wide by 20cm high, and 11cm wide.

I am truly inspired by your work. I have all of the same equipment (Juki DDL8700) and tools (stiletto for pushing fabric along, tube turner, etc) as you, but can never get them to work like you do...... and I have been sewing for approximately 38-39 years (I'm only 44- yup, do the math).
I mainly want to say thank you for sharing your skill and perfection. We try to teach as many as we can to perpetuate our craft. It is fantastic that more younger adults are becoming excited about sewing and what they can do with this newly found talent. I love to see my daughter's creations and give her free reign of my studio, even though she has her own small Singer straight stitch machine in her room. I feel that if they want to learn, teach em'!

Siiiiaaa. Vártál? Nem igazán. Nem baj. Tudod kedves Don a fényalagutakon nem volt szabad fénycsík. De most kukkolok mint a moziban. Ez valami újdonság is dolog. Tudtam, minden elvégzendő munkában van valami szórakoztató. Keresd meg ezt és hopp a munka máris játékká változott. Te megtaláltam, játszol az öreg dolgokkal és csodálatos darabok lesznek belőle.
