    This is Octopus superyacht, one of the world’s largest super yachts, with a total length of 414 feet.
    Launched in 2003 at a cost of $200 million, Octopus is a private vessel that has been loaned out for exploration projects, scientific research initiatives and rescue missions. According to Boat International, it was the largest when it launched, though yachts belonging to David Geffen and Roman Abramovich have since surpassed it.
    Lürssen built the iconic 126.2-meter superyacht for the late Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft and one of the world's most prominent philanthropists. Octopus, his 414-foot yacht, is one of the best billionaire toys on the market. Octopus is an extremely luxurious escape, with a pool, two helicopters, a movie theater, basketball court, recording studio, and accommodations for 26 guests in 41 suites. .
    Allen, was a keen adventurer, he commissioned Espen Ino, a superyacht designer, to design a yacht capable of expeditions. "It was a very ambitious brief," Ino said, "because none of the tenders, tools, RVs, submarines, or helicopters could be outside; they all had to be hidden."

    The Octopus yacht was built by Lurssen, with Espen Oeino handling the exterior design and Jonathan Quinn Barnett completing the design for the interior. Capable of a cruising speed of 17 knots, the Octopus has a top speed of 20 knots. She can sleep 26 guests and a crew of 57.
    With luxury spread across eight decks, her 26 guests have unparalleled privacy while onboard. The details of the superyacht interiors, which were penned by American designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett, have remained extremely private over the years, though a glimpse of them was captured in a video about the vessel released in 2019, shortly after she went on the market.
    It has, however, been confirmed that the 9,932 GT superyacht features a spa, library, bar, cinema, gym, various lounges, a forward facing observation deck, a basketball court and a glass bottomed observation lounge in the tank deck. The new owner of Octopus will be able to enjoy a dedicated owner’s deck, with a bar, private elevator, Jacuzzi to the fore and an al fresco dining table to aft.
