Don't get me wrong. I find a lot of the stories of things that went on in the streets with drug dealers and drug traffickers to be fascinating and in no way does it influence me to want to do what they did. I just don't think that telling their stories ever prevents anyone from wanting to get involved even if it is told as a cautionary tale. What might work is if you start to tell the horror stories of the users which is also fascinating.

I get what you're saying and I agree. I admit that I do find these stories to be fascinating but it's never made me want to get involved in that life. It's no different from finding stories of serial killers to be fascinating. That doesn't mean a person wants to be a serial killer. With that being said, a lot of people do idolize and glorify these people even when their stories are told as cautionary tales. I think that if there was more focus on the horror stories of the users, it would have a better affect in deterring people from glorifying the dealers and wanting to get involved in that lifestyle.

The same could apply to what you consume with your eyes and your ears. I’m not here to judge the way anyone chooses to live their life. I’m just saying that as long as we celebrate the people that do damage to our community, children and those that are weak minded will seek out this type of “fame” as it is easily achieved.
