26:55 i have actually thought a lot about this in terms of this show. The following is personal speculation and not something the show says outright, but there are points of evidence that are dotted around that support it if you look. I am not gonna lay out all my thoughts cause it'd be a lot.
In this world I believe the body, the soul and the mind (including the consciousness and memories); are all separate things and each treated differently by the Abyss.
Bondrewd is honestly the easiest example to point to. He used his soul to become his white whistle (He says 'body' in the movie; but I think Bondrewd either possibly misunderstands the creation of white whistles or just used the word body to keep it simple, as I believe they are crystalized souls more then anything; We see that Prushka didn't need her body to become a white whistle). He uses a relic to transfer his mind and memories into different bodies which are used as little more then vessels for his consciousness. All three parts of him have been separate for as long as he has been a white whistle. This is likely part of why the Abyss no longer considers him a human being in his own experiments.
As far as how this translates to Mitty in this case, was she truly copied in every aspect? I'll leave that for you to decide.

No, the physical body is what's to create a whistle. Prushka's organs were packed into the cartridge and her heart became the stone.

@@InquisitorKrieg But that doesn't make much sense in relation to anything else this series shows us. Bodies are vessels for souls, nothing more. There are a number of examples of this being the case.
The overall messaging and symbolism regarding souls, connection, and their will to return to those who want or deserve them makes sense for that to be what makes up a white whistle.
I know Pruska's organs were in there, but we have no evidence what, if any, part of her body became the life-reverberating stone. We don't open the box to check and just because it LOOKS like a heart doesn't mean that's what it was physically. This could be entirely symbolic.
Part of the issue here is you can't say "No, it is the body" for sure. We don't know that's the case because we are not shown explicitly.
I am not saying 100% white whistles are in fact souls. However I am saying I think its a lot more likely then the body being one. We only have ONE point of reference where someone says anything specific, and that's Bondrewd saying the word 'body' in one scene, but I can easily see a world where he just didn't piece it together; as this series is full of people not actually understanding what they think they know and only presenting things from a perspective in which they believe they know. Bondrewd has only in recent times come to understand, accept and value the intangible property of 'love'; I could easily see him dismissing a soul as the source of his own white whistle. Perhaps he will reevaluate after what happened with Prushka.
I think is possible that the 'traditional' process of creating a white whistle destroys your body in the process. If Bondrewd used the Zoaholic to move his mind to a different body, his original body would still have contained his original soul. If this process destroyed the body and a white whistle remained, how could you tell the difference where it came from? Which is why I think its possible Bondrewd might misunderstand and think the body is the white whistle rather then this invisible thing called a 'soul' you can't detect or do science on or prove even exists. Pruska had loads of her body removed, her mind was not herself in those moments filled with drugs and fighting pain. The only part of her that would have remained in tact and pure to her truest desires; to go on adventures, to help Riko, to still care for Bondrewd; would have been her soul-the part we are told over and over is the part that is about true connection and value and longing. It was Bondrewd's soul that was devoted to his own ideals and it's Prushka's soul that wanted to carry on with Riko, not her body.
I think an argument could be made that a part of the body is what becomes the physical crystalized relic itself and the soul remains attached to it, maybe. I would be willing to compromise with that. But I still think the soul is a mandatory prime component, and that the body is more of a sacrifice for it then anything important. Like, I very much expect you wouldn't be able to use a dead body to create a white whistle, and what does a living body have that a dead one does not? In this world I would guess 'A soul'.
      TL;DR
I believe the destruction of the body might maybe be a requirement and might maybe be a component, but I don't think its the main ingredient-if that makes sense.

18:30 To be fair. Even if they had killed Bondrewd, Mitty would still be in the village as he had brought her here before Nanachi had run away with Mitty. Both Mitty's were around the whole time Nanachi and Mitty were at the hideout. I have speculations as to why be brought Mitty, but that contains some spoilers so maybe later if its relevent.
Also, not to devalue the connection between Mitty and Nanachi at all, but just a tidbit of time based detail we don't see in the anime. Mitty and Nanachi couldn't have been together for decades even with the time distortion related stuff going on. In the manga we are told that Bondrewd has only been around in the 5th layer for about 13 years surface time, which moves faster. So we don't know exactly how long Nanachi and Mitty have been together, quite a lot less then that. Maybe a 3-8 years? less? It's hard to say. Again, not the important part, their connection was still special and is all the more special because it was able to develop in such a short time. But You mentioning that it could have been decades made it maybe worthwhile to offer that added detail since you couldn't know otherwise.

19:52 You cut a part where the guy who carved the whistle said some 'questionable' stuff; and I understand why. But I believe what he says is often misunderstood. This ties into the idea that once you have found or achieved your greatest desire your journey will end. What happens here is rather subtle but significant I think.
He says he 'climaxed', which in this case what he means is he climaxed in the peak of his profession; he believes he will never craft a greater object.
We know in this village value is of greatest importance, everyone trades for everything, and freebies aren't really a thing. Moogie basically tells us so when she mentions the people here aren't that soft after Riko explains her motives to help the village during the luring. The craftsmen willingly gives Riko this highly valuable object for free; as for him the physical object itself is of no value to him; but the satisfaction of finally crafting what has accumulated to his life's work means he feels complete-but devoid of purpose. Attaining value now is pointless. Payment or trade is no longer valued and he is satisfied and ready for things to end. We see Nanachi go through the same thing after Reg destroyed Mitty Classic-And this is why Nanachi says Reg is cruel to make her promise to live on after as a condition for his help. The craftsman gives up all he values and is willing to sacrifice himself to the threat of the village even if it means death. As a craftsman, creating these objects is his greatest desire and he essentially now has nothing left to live for-he has created his greatest work and thinks he can no longer create anything else equal or greater then it. His journey is over.
This contrasts with whats going on with Nanachi now. Our white whistle, Prushka, was given freely by someone who feels they now have nothing left in life to live for or a purpose to serve VS Nanachi being bartered with by perhaps someone who does or still yet wishes to find their value.

I somehow missed this episode when you posted it.
0:25 A note about this. You aren't wrong, but the value one puts on something is deep; its beyond what you THINK you value something as and more like something deeper then your subconsciousness. It's kind of hard to put into words. Nothing you guys said is wrong. But just making a point that the village can determine how you value things even if you yourself don't consciously know, because through the 'signals' the village can understand your deepest feelings and desires and how that relates to what you value and why; even if you are unaware of them yourself.
1:36 "Pink-Mama-Carebear"...aka - Maa. Was ripped apart, but was not destroyed.
Regarding Maa following Riko; The following isn't really a spoiler as its not explicit stated and is in part speculation. But the most valued things that were taken by the balancing after hurting Meinya were stuffed animals. Maa was likely interested in Meinya initially because it looked like a living stuffed animal, so they were squeezing on it like one which was why Meinya was hurt; not cause Maa is a sadistic animal abuser, but more like a confused child. When Riko was in the alleyway, Maa was likely saving Meinya rather then Riko... which was why right after Maa was looking at its, uh, back side, to see if it had been hurt again. I think Maa was more connected to Meinya then Riko, but is now developing a connection to Riko to association; both because Meinya is around Riko but because Riko shows genuine care for Maa which might not be common around here-without a price. Because of the value based system and the balancing, people are likely to be rather selfish I think.
