🤩
Fantastic job Pete, looks bloody amazing
Thanks Mark
Could you do a video showing how the heat rocks are made I would really love to know
Have a tutorial on it maybe ??
Awesome build 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Stacey
Hey Peter, have you had your Roughie’s lay eggs in the hide box up top yet? Would love another video of your rough scale pythons again 🤙
And now we know what that vivarium was for. Your advocation of maternal incubation is a mark of your experience, knowledge of species & husbandry skills. I hope it inspires more herpetoculturists to move in this direction allowing the adults to manage their own clutches & perform natural behaviour. It's amazing to watch for 60 days as they care for the development of their offspring. Morelia carinata aren't the most colourful of their genus, however they do have morphological differences which stand them apart from their cousins. They are like a weird bridge between morelia viridis & the other carpets not to dismiss their size & rough scalation adaptation. Better to appreciate them in a naturalistic vivarium than simply maintain in tubs as seems too often to be the case. I read a comment, you have 6 in there, isn't that a little overcrowded? I would think a 1.2 trio to be more adequate, but then you would surely require a second nest box for the future (unless they can incubate in tandem). Inspirational as always. Thanks
It's all part of experience, I not sure if there will be issues during breeding or incubation as there is basically zero wild information about them. But I'm willing to see what happens and SHARE my experiences.
Pretty epic Peter, thanks!!!
I think so, thanks for the support
@@CrittaCam you're welcome
Would love to be able to make one for our burm 🐍🇬🇧
now that would be impressive
Absolutely awesome! Looks like you took a slice of ma nature and transplanted it!! I bet you would love our snakes here in the states! But I guessed they are banned down under. You guys are just as crazy as we are about snakes here in the states! Love to visit your awesome country once before I kick the bucket! Cheers mate
Hey Don I'm sure it's a buckelist trip for sure plenty of critters here to see
Well done mate, looks great
Universal rock can't be beatin , if only it wasn't so pricy but the dollar value still out ways waiting for all those layers to dry doing it any other way.
Unsurpassed quality can be pricey but it will last year's
Please do an update on this colony of carinata, would absolutely love to see and hear more about this magnificent space. Also, have you thought about adding a second nest box?
You are the absolute best! Wonderful setup; beautiful snakes - and the females will incubate their eggs as well: AND if a video you once did still holds true, you’ll give mom food room service as well. Truly, a keeper after my own heart. You’re a shining example.
Thank you for your kind words, I hope others will follow
Nice mate
Thanks Bradley
Love to have one my snake
Awesome cage Pete can you help me with one for retics and carpets lol
I wish I could, hit up Brian Barcyzk he maybe able to help you out
Absolutely awesome setup, mate. Hope to do something like this for some of mine, down the track.
Amazing setup Peter! And you have beautiful Rough-Scale Pythons!
Thank you Jurrasic
A beautiful setup Peter and they are going to love it, 4 of them l am thinking.
They have been in there now for 2 months and they love it, there is 6 roughies living in there
@@CrittaCam That is wonderful Peter and l can see why they love it and you have given me some great ideas for setting up for my guy, l have only one rough scaled myself and l love him. One day may get him a female but only just turning 8 months old now.
@@Gottalovecarpetpythons awesome they are great pythons
Awesome build!
Would love a link to the book you mentioned please mate!
Hectic setup🙌🏼💪🏼👏🏼
Thanks Hamish
Awesome build, I always go to my back yard for enclosure furnishings. It saves money and looks great. Hope to see a breeding success video in the relatively near future.
I hope so too Brett, thanks for the feed back
amazing setup. where did you get the universal rock walls?
Got a lucky break and found this hidden away in a nursery
Those basking rocks with the heat coils inside them, did you make them or buy them? if the latter do you have a link, if the former you should have done a video showing how you made them......
Awesome setup! Looks incredible
Thank you so much
I wish roughies were more common in wa
I'm sure once they start breeding them they will be, awesome pythons
Which model of universal rock is it also what did you do for the ledges?
Do these rock ledges come with heating elements inside or did you do it yourself?
Hey Tobias, no they dont have heating iI put heat cord in them
CrittaCam that’s a great idea
When you use leaf litter like that do u have to soak it in boiling water or treat it with something?
Put it in a garbage bag then you can treat it, allow to air prior to putting in the cage
CrittaCam what do you treat it with
You can can use macmite to kill any bugs
If your feeling brave you can bake it in the oven. (some people may not like you doing it though 😉)
What's the clear coat stuff you use mate
water based polyurethane
@@CrittaCam thanks mate
Peter, where can we get Universal Rock panels that size in Australia (I'm in Melb.)? I'm told the Aus distributor won't be importing anymore (ironcally) because of the A$ trailing sparks...
I believe there may be a distributor In Victoria
