Here I introduce you to the wonderful world of womas! These unique snakes make an excellent addition to any snake collection. Watch to learn why! Music by Bensound
About a year ago, I got a baby Woma from a store that the staff referred to as “The Pumpkin King” because of his coloration and the little black spots on his eyes. Because of this, I ended up naming him Jack! He’s my very first snake and since his adoption he’s grown so much! He’s almost two feet, absolutely ravenous for chicken-scented mice, and a complete sweetheart. He nipped me one time, but it’s only because I accidentally spooked him. Other than that and a little hiccup with his feeding early on (he was terribly picky his first month) I couldn’t have asked for a better first snake. I really wish there was more appreciation for these funky little snakes. Keep up your awesome work!
I have a 6month old Woma python and he is absolutely puppydog tame. It's amazing, I was always told that womas are cage aggressive and have a really high food drive. But in my experience, i beg to differ. My boy is fantastic.
There were some idiots giving Ed some hate in one of your videos, I just want to say that what they were saying isn’t true, you guys are an awesome couple and there’s nothing wrong with Ed. Sorry if this seems weird, but I hate it when people give hate.
Just a Potato 🤔🤔🤔 there’s nothing wrong with either of them.... I don’t get why anyone would watch these guys if they didn’t like one of the people in the duo
Wow some things there I didn't know. i work at an animal sanctuary called Potoroo Palace in NSW Australia and we have a beautiful woma python 🐍 now when we do educational talks with the public we have some new info to share. Thanks so much ❤️
I can't wait until you guys have baby womas available. ^_^ I saw one of these at a reptile show when I was a teenager and it just blew me away. 15 years later, I still haven't gotten one, but they're on my list.
I was researching woma pythons because I'm thinking about getting one, and a website brought me to your video! I've actually been watching this channel for years, I just thought it funny that in my search I found a channel I like
I have a deposit down on a gorgeous baby male, just waiting on a warm shipping window, shame it's December. I'm really excited! Thanks for the video! Beautiful womas.
Spending my Saturday morning catching up on your videos. :) Now I want a sulcata, giant hognose, woma python, salamander, and a bull snake (which I wanted before today). ;) I'm not getting any, of course, but one day I'm going to design my yard to be the perfect tortoise habitat.
Hi my name is ryan i live in australia and happen to come across yout video aand would like to thank you for explaning the issue with smuggling of these animals out of australia. We have some tough laws for a reasion just recently 200 reptiles well seized in WA on there way to the black market it not only crule but also makes it harder for us to keep our own animals here. I happen to have a few bredli carpits as well as a few geckos of witch womas will deffently feed on. There are good numbers of both bredli and womas in captive populations compared to 10 years ago. You seem very knowledgeable and i admire thatmyou serch out the infomation for your blogs.
Great video! I'm currently researching what to get for my first snake. Luckily, I live in Australia so these beauties are readily available. I love the eyebrows :D
Wow they’re gorgeous! That’s so excited that you have a breeding pair! And you could probably give some more breeding pairs to your other breeder friends! Here’s hoping conservation efforts are successful!
Thanks for the video! I just got my first woma python (a 6-month-old female), and I'll be picking her up to bring her home in a few weeks. :) I'm super excited for her to join the family! The breeder from whom I purchased her has definitely been "power-feeding" her, which I will be changing to a more reasonable schedule once she's in my care. I'm not really looking to get into breeding, and I'd rather that my snake have a good long life ahead of her.
Thanks for the interesting video! I came across it because Billabong Sanctuary's go-to photo/handling experience snake is a Woma python, and I wanted to get to know a little more about the species (so that when people ask questions, I don't sound quite as clueless, but I am only on work experience, not a reptile expert haha)
Hi Emily, I've been reading that wild Woma's tend to grow to 8 feet and get darker in coloration when they grow older even lose the orange yellows on their heads. Is this any different with captive bread Woma's. And is it true that captive bread snakes tend to get smaller during many generations of breeding. Please comment, you guys have the best snake vlog by a long way, I love it! Thanks.
I love this channel because I learn about species I've never heard of before. Very beautiful snakes! Are they easier to care for than ball pythons due to their lower humidity requirements and better feeding responses?
Could you please do a video on your California red sided garter? I’m so interested in adopting one but I have some educating myself to do before I can even consider it!! Thanks!
Emily, you should definitely look into getting a children's python or a stimson python! Two other native Australian species that are also the result of illegal pet traffickers, and they are just GORGEOUS snakes! Children's pythons are the ball python of the Australian reptile trade (we're not allowed non-native species here, to prevent biosecurity incidents like the Burmese python issue in Florida), they're lovely small first-time snakes, very calm and friendly.
My female is 6’ and bigger than my male sunglow boa. She gets dark, but when she sheds is unbelievable. Do you have a website? When you breed those 2 I would be interested.
Great video. I’ve heard they have such a strong food response that they can be difficult to handle without getting bitten. Have you found this to be the case?
Thinking of getting one...however the one I have been interested in I have been known likes to taste things ( bite). Could this trait be lessened w handling? Your opinion??
Although you Aussies cannot get non-native snakes, the snakes you have in your own backyards are the coolest. My only snakes these days are Australian (Childrens/Stimsons pythons.) I am so glad we in the US do have some of these available.
It's funny, I came to this video after seeing a woma python on an Australian zookeepers channel where he mention that womas are known to eat king browns or mulga snakes, only to learn that mulgas also eat them. I suspected as much, they grow to similar sizes and both eat other snakes, I guess it's just about who gets who first.
I'm Australian! Also do you mean the bush not woodlands And your right most snakes in Australia I love your channel especially because I love reptiles so much I think your channel is so good because I'm not aloud to have a snake till I move out But I'm only 10 Thanks for making cool videos
Your Woma looks like it's permanently concerned for you with those eyebrows. It's so freaking adorable.
I love woma pythons and was so happy when I got one, she is called socks and she’s to CALMEST THING EVER
Yeah, mines lovely too....such a softy! Good ol' Wally
Hi Lazy, I like to ask why she is called socks? I seems such a rare name for a snake...😁
SOCKS. THAT IS SO FUNNY

Those 'eyebrows' are beautiful!
Doggo the Great yepp

They remind me of Groucho Marx!
Their coloration reminds me of a toasted marshmallow!
Marshmallow would be a great name!
I have a 6month old Woma python and he is absolutely puppydog tame. It's amazing, I was always told that womas are cage aggressive and have a really high food drive. But in my experience, i beg to differ. My boy is fantastic.

That’s so sweet 😆
What did people say was wrong with ed
Dobby they were just giving him hate and saying mean things about him
@@alligaytor4253 what video
I would love to see a Feed My Pet Friday on these guys. Such amazing in-depth snakes, once again this was an amazing video, keep up the awesome work!
There actually is one if you look back! :)
Wow some things there I didn't know. i work at an animal sanctuary called Potoroo Palace in NSW Australia and we have a beautiful woma python 🐍 now when we do educational talks with the public we have some new info to share. Thanks so much ❤️
It's worth noting that Emily was actually mistaken about their main food source, they primarily prey on reptiles which is why they lack pit organs.
I wish I had a womma python but i love my ball python she is truly a good snake thanks for your videos
They're very nice animals. I got my first ball python, named Woody, and soon after got a Woma python called Wally! They're adorable!
Beautiful snake. Yep Australia, I can't even bring fruit from one state to the next because of laws fearing the spread of fruit flies.
But celebs that pay them a lot can bring whatever they want....
Great information as always and gorgeous womas!
always had the thought of woma = hard pythons with alot of energy
but they look absolutely used to all the handling its so relaxing to see
I like how their skin looks like they're moving even when are are "sitting" still.
I can't wait until you guys have baby womas available. ^_^ I saw one of these at a reptile show when I was a teenager and it just blew me away. 15 years later, I still haven't gotten one, but they're on my list.
You are so great. I always look forward to your videos. Thanks for all the work you do!!!
when a snake's eyebrows are more fleeky than yours
I have said this many times but you have an amazing Chanel and I look forward to all the content to come.😍🙂😊
Thank you SO much for doing this video!!! I am currently researching these and this information was invaluable!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I’m getting one from a previous abusive household and there’s no videos on it! I needed this! Love snake discovery
Very pretty!! I just got my first snake and have been binge-watching snake videos on UA-cam to learn more about them.
I was researching woma pythons because I'm thinking about getting one, and a website brought me to your video! I've actually been watching this channel for years, I just thought it funny that in my search I found a channel I like
very well researched video on this stunning Australian snake. One of the better videos I have seen for knowledge on this species
I have a deposit down on a gorgeous baby male, just waiting on a warm shipping window, shame it's December. I'm really excited! Thanks for the video! Beautiful womas.
Found your channel through Brian Barczyks channel. Very awesome! Glad I found y'all!

I've been waiting for this for ages!
I love woma and black headed pythons! I really need to get one some time!
Awww this snake is beautiful.
Womas are my favorite snake. I am looking to get one soon:)
You definitely taught me something new great video thanks👍🏻👍🏻❤️
I have learned that I tend towards colubrids more, bit I would surely make an exception for a woma, so pretty.
Awww, look at it, so pretty. It makes me sad that people are still afraid of snakes just because they are misunderstood
I would love one of those snakes. So hard to find at herp shows.
Thanks for the video! I just got my first woma python (a 6-month-old female), and I'll be picking her up to bring her home in a few weeks. :) I'm super excited for her to join the family! Fun fact: in 2015 a woma python had to have surgery because it ate its feeding tongs along with its food
Sooooooo pretty! I think I just found my favorite type of snake
they’re gorgeous
I love Woma Pythons!
Beautiful snakes
I loved the video!

Sssssssoo Cool!
I love this channel because I learn about species I've never heard of before. Very beautiful snakes! Are they easier to care for than ball pythons due to their lower humidity requirements and better feeding responses?
Yes I'd say so!
Can u make a complete care video on them
you are my hero!
In reference to your “ power feeding” I've read that younger snakes feed more frequently.
Beautiful snake! I would love to have one, any kind of 'beginner' snake actually, but chances are, I would not be allowed to get one.
Could you please do a video on your California red sided garter? I’m so interested in adopting one but I have some educating myself to do before I can even consider it!! Thanks!

Very good..)
That's a beautiful snake! What got you into reptiles in the first place?
I want one or two womas. They and the Children's Pythons are my two favorite python species.
fun fact: it's pronounced "why-ma" it's an Aboriginal word.
Look at that face....lord it's so cute
My female is 6’ and bigger than my male sunglow boa. She gets dark, but when she sheds is unbelievable. Do you have a website? When you breed those 2 I would be interested.
Great video. I’ve heard they have such a strong food response that they can be difficult to handle without getting bitten. Have you found this to be the case?
I've heard that too but never experienced it with either of mine. I think it just depends on how often you handle them.
Love you thank you
Mine isn't twitchy or defensive, but he has a habit of thinking my hands are food. He is obsessed with food. lol
Do you have any recommendations as to where cheap yet functional enclosures for these guys can be found?
Can you please do more on woma pythons I thinking about getting one or a garter snake
I love that snake 🐍
Thinking of getting one...however the one I have been interested in I have been known likes to taste things ( bite). Could this trait be lessened w handling? Your opinion??
As an Australian we’re lucky because in most of our reptile stores there woma Pythons
Although you Aussies cannot get non-native snakes, the snakes you have in your own backyards are the coolest. My only snakes these days are Australian (Childrens/Stimsons pythons.) I am so glad we in the US do have some of these available.
Woma Pythons are cute.🥰
They are so common here in australia... you see them heaps at reptile expos.
Would you ship to Canada and do you see yourself selling any of these at some point in the future?
Its so cute
Can u keep womas on sand as they are from a sandy region?? I was wondering if i can mix sand with my aspen substrate.
Woo! One for Australia!
I love my country. XD
I'm Australian!
Also do you mean the bush not woodlands
And your right most snakes in Australia
I love your channel especially because I love reptiles so much
I think your channel is so good because I'm not aloud to have a snake till I move out
But I'm only 10
Thanks for making cool videos
The amber stripes remind me of the outside of a nautilus shell.
Holy shit u have 70,000 subs now I remember when u had 2,000
So cute
So much Orange
When will you show off the Giant Hognose ? Also the channel is really informative, thankyou for all your efforts.
Soon! I was waiting until they started eating for me, which happened a couple days ago (finally).
Snake Discovery amazing thankyou
