    In the example under Duty, Delta and Base-- Design Discharge of Canal, how do you get that 8.64? Thanks for the lecture

      60x60x24 = 86,400
      When divided by the area 10⁴ which is 10,000..
      86,400/10,000 = 8.64

    Que- If the irrigation efficiency is 80%, conveyance losses are 20% and the actual depth of watering is 16cm, the depth of water required at the canal outlet is______
    A)10cm
    B)15cm
    C)20cm
    D)25cm
    E)30cm

    What will be the duty at field as compare to duty at inlet of the main canal...

      If you have 1 cumec water at field inlet pipe, it can irrigate more land than 1 cumec at canal starting. As losses take place in canal on the way to field

    Sir , you skipped how to duty varies from point to point in irrigation channel ,please explain how does duty changes from main canal to water course in field.
