Oh yes, teach Mrs Smith how to knit. What a lovely idea. Jo, it is going to be so cool if you knit along with Gary. Besides, Gary said, he buys more yarn than he can knit up, but as soon as he has a "partner in crime", yarn will be used up. :-) Sooner or later the grandkids will be knitting too ( wishful thinking ;-) ) and who knows who, lol, maybe even the "Unknitting Man", haha.
I always find it so charming, when Andrea`s sister`s girls knit in the Outback of the Australien bush. You know, Andrea from Fruity Knitting.
I think the podcast is growing better and more structured every time Gary. It is like watching a garden grow. Enjoying it very much.

While I've not used it much for knitting, I have made several crocheted blankets and scarves - variations on granny squares and granny paperweight patterns- using vintage tapestry and crewel wool that has mostly been bought for very little from charity shops and fleamarkets or gifts from friends and neighbours having a clear out. The array of shade and tone in just one colour is amazing, and the ends can be joined together really easy, so like you I am a big supporter of not needing to spend a small fortune to build up a colour rich wool and yarn palette.
The suggestion of helping Jo develop her knitting skills sounds really good, and if she's a bit camera shy, focus on her hands learning how to wrap the yarn would probably be less stressful for her.

Just re-watching this episode and you asked what we thought you should to to continue with your zig-zag jumper. I vote to continue going AWOL because it would be instructive for us to see you do that. In a previous episode you showed us how you broke up and also stopped and changed in the middle of a repeat. So the AWOL jumper would be a good opportunity to continue with that line of teaching and show creative ways to do it. Thanks for all you and Jo do to make this podcast so helpful and interesting!

Hi Gary and Jo. This was another great, informative and fun episode. I did see Mrs. Smith at the end of the last episode. Thanks for another great video Gary and Mrs. Smith. Look forward to watching every week. I agree that watching Mrs Smith learn to knit in your style will great to see and it may encourage some of us “colourwork apprehensive” knitters to give it a shot. Once upon a time I designed and hooked a few wall hangings and your videos have given me the idea that perhaps I could knit those designs into lap blankets…..maybe.

Loved this episode . I recognised where you were . I kneel down to look at yarn too! I don't buy much new yarn either . I buy wool jumpers to unpick as well as balls of yarn in charity shops or at car boot sales. Your loft stash sounds like mine . I was recently left my friends dad's stash together with needles , books and several knitting machines and a spinning wheel. It is hard to find anything now! This summer I am planning to dye some wool . My mind is always buzzing with ideas . You never get bored when you are knitting. Have you ever done knitting in the cinema ? It embarrasses my Granddaughter's.

Another great video Gary. I received the cat blanket pattern a couple of days ago and looking forward to getting started on it. You've got a great start on your UA-cam channel and, to be honest, my heart sank a bit when you mentioned a private members group. I know of a few UA-camrs that I follow who have these groups and I hear them say, "if you want to see this other special thing you need to be a member of our group", it's always disappointing. As much as I'd love to support all of the wonderful knitters that I've come across, you start adding up anywhere from $5 - $40 per month for all of these memberships, plus what it costs for youtube itself to watch add free... well I'm afraid I just can't do it. This is only my opinion Gary and I do look forward to all your future episodes.

It would mean members would get extra content, training videos, knitalongs, pattern discounts, behind the scenes videos, etc. Do you think that it would be worth our time researching this as a potential option?
