@2:48 Cronenworth really gotta stop giving up on those plays. First base must be prepared to catch the throw at any moment. He can't empty the base just because he believes that the play is impossible. There were multiple occasions this season where Padres would have gotten an out if he stayed on the bag.
In this particular instance, I think the runner beat the throw regardless.
Bet yes, you're right. It was close enough that he shouldn't have given up on the play.

I don’t think that we need too much come trade deadline but def need a DH and I think our BP is set with Suarez back the wilson/suarez/hader combo is nasty but it’s especially nice to have an ACTUAL 8th inning guy to bridge the gap to hader
Question why didn’t the pitcher pick up that grounder - the one where ha seong Kim picked and tossed with his glove. He ran towards it, and it looked like it was right at his feet with his glove down but he stopped?

Wasn’t trying to be a smartass, I was genuinely curious what happened because it looked like he could’ve got it. But being a lefty kinda makes sense, but also it does look like he could’ve made the play too regardless. Hope y’all have good a day brothers.

Welcome to the Astros world. Stros lost 2 starting pitchers early in the season. Have been without Altuve and Alvarez for large chunks of the season. Stillwaiting on McCullers and Brantley to make their season debuts. And yet, despite all this they have fought to stay in the running.

I learned not to slide head first at home plate in H.S specially with the catcher around and this players are suppose to be professionals so should know better.....

1. Bullpen help
2. Left fielder
3. Catcher

The Rangers are imploding faster than the Titan submersible.
The injuries to Seager and Heim have really been affected in the lineup but its still not an excuse to a team thats averaging almost 6 runs a game and a batting average with RISP at .298 this year.

@@alexx.x16 the good thing is that Seager should be back this week off the IL but if Heim is done for the season (which that could be the reports are), then they need to get an everyday catcher to help the lineup because Garver and Huff are not the solutions in that department. I suggest that Chris Young needs to get either Salvador Perez or Elias Diaz in the next 2 days.

I like what the Rangers did over the weekend in getting Scherzer, and Montgomery for their rotation becauae now they have 8 starters in their pitching rotation:

RHP Nathan Evoladi
LHP Jordan Montgomery
RHP Jon Gray
LHP Martin Perez
RHP Dane Dunning
LHP Andrew Heaney
LHP Cody Bradford
I still think that the Rangers need to go get a catcher, a every day LF, a DH, and more bullpne help. Even with the additions of Chapman and Stratton, you still need an 8th inning guy and there's still a market for relievers out there. These are the folloqing that are out there:
1. RHP Liam Hendricks
2. RHP Kyle Finnegan
3. RHP Carl Edwards Jr
4. RHP Scott Barlow
5. RHP Hunter Harvey
6. LHP Brooks Raley
7. RHP Adam Ottavino
8. RHP David Bednar

I mean theres still tons of options for thw Rangers to go after in the next 2 days to bolster the bullpen. The position player market is kind of weak but I still think that the injury to Heim is really hurting them tremendously and I wonder if you can get a guy like Salvador Perez or Elias Diaz in a trade because if Heim is out for the year, you cant rely on Garver and Huff to do the catching duties when the postseason comes around. Also the Rangers still kept most of their famr system intact after getting Scherzer, Montgomery, and Stratton. I believe that the Rangers are not done making moves and Chris Young has done a tremendous job at GM. Jon Daniels would have never been this agressive since he would sell off pieces and dont do anything.
