Gdynia is amazing! 🇵🇱 let us know what you think about it below 👇🏼
My favourite city on the Baltic Sea in Poland. I love especially Orłowo and Kamienna Góra in Gdynia. Enjoy your stay in northern Poland. You should visit both the Hel Peninsula and the Moving/Travelling Dunes near Łeba in the Słowiński National Park (+Czołpino Lighthouse). Both are unique in the world and really worth visiting even if you had to move from your track/route. Warmest wishes and greetings from the Hel Peninsula, Gosia 🙂🧡💙💜
Go to you'r next trip to Łębork. There is a beautiful castle and "Wieża Ciśnień" - a branch of museum in Łębork. This is a way up stairs in park. That is a good place to explore. It's near Gdynia.
Yes, Gdynia is the best city in Poland but no (longer) to live.
Gdynia is my city, so I moved out :)
Yes it is . Last time o was visit with my 9 months son before we moved to UK. Enjoy ☺️
Actually there are 4 beaches in Gdynia. & You take InterCity from Gdansk to Gdynia!?! Dear my!! That was so expensive!! You should take skm the city-trains metropolitan trains.... That are cheaper & travel the same time... Also You forgot that on Gdynia Central station was discovered old mosaic & paintings (green horses & astronomical objects) & have old wood like furniture. Also Clifs are from Main beach to Orłowo beach. On cliffs You can find old 2 ww cannons & pretty nature. In Orłowo is Cafe called "Dom Żeromskiego" it is old house of polish writer & it is also mini-museum. Also there is little molo like in sopot. Just few steps from Orłowo You have stable & park Kolibki which are beautiful in old style & also old style like manor house. I can't believe no one told You that.
Greetings from Polish guy living in The Netherlands but grew up in Gdynia :)
@5:05 Oh man, this is a legendary destroyer from WW2! The ship fought in Norwegian waters and battled U-boats in the English Channel, Atlantic and Mediterranean. She became famous for saving the English town of East Cowes, which she single-handedly covered with anti-aircraft fire against a powerful German air raid. She also masked that town by laying a smoke screen. East Cowes still honors this event today. A true legend!
BTW Cowes was her home town, cause she was build there 😄
Actually ORP Błyskawica is something like a National war hero. The ship is decorated (as the only polish ship) by gold cross of Virtuti Militari, which is the most important polish military order. She Defended the city of Cowes, rescued sailors from destroyed alied ships, hunted for Uboats, escorted transport ships and fought during landing in Normandia. It was also one of the best and the most modern destroyers in the latw 30'. Great patch of history
Wow amazing! Thank you!
Also Błyskawica was build in Ship yard on Isle of White in UK.
As Robert said, Blyskawica was built on the Isle of Wight, she was evacuated to the UK before the German attack in Danzig(Gdansk), the Polish knew what was coming, she served with the Royal Navy for the entire war and was being refitted at Cowes on the Isle of Wight when the Luftwaffe attacked, She defended the Island, sent sailors ashore to fight fires and was given the freedom of the city. Gdynia has a lot more history than you realise, My partner is from there and even she is amazed at the things I tell her, During the years before Glasnost, The history taught to the local people was pro russian. Gdynia was known in Germany as Gotenhafen, Bismarck and Prinz Eugen sailed from there on their attempted break out to the Atlantic. Also visit Hel, That's an eye opener, they withstood the German attack for a month before surrendering. The Germans took the guns from Hel and installed them on the Atlantic wall in France....I'll shut up now, The Tri-Cities are full of history and hardly anyone knows it
Also Gdynia May be younger than Gdańsk and Sopot BUT believe me, Gdynia speedruned hole history of port cities. It was greates and the most modern sea port on this side of Bałtyk in the midwar period, and they build it in just a few years. The hole modern city from very little Fisher Village. Actually the history of Second polish Republic Navy and the rise of City of Gdynia is also very interesting.
You can't leave Poland without visiting Malbork. A quick train ride from Gdansk. You'll be glad you did, regret it if you don't. A monumental Teutonic castle.
It’s our next video ❤️🇵🇱 coming on Thursday!
Thanks good tip!!
wow Gdynia looks so sunny and beautiful.
You pronounced Gdynia without "g" which mean dynia (pumpkin) in polish
I always say that Tricity is like a three brothers: Gdańsk the oldest one, dignified and serious; Gdynia the youngest one, dynamic, businessman with big ambitions; and Sopot party boy in mid thirties still living with his parents 😆
😆😆😆 that is brilliant
Hahaha! This is a great comparison Radek! :*. I was born in Gdynia, worked in Gdansk and had parties in Sopot all weekends ;)
Superspruch.
The city of Gdynia was a tiny village. It was established in the 20s of the last century, so it is a relatively young city, so the station is not "old".

Gdańsk podczas działań wojennych został zniszczony.
Został odbudowany przywracając miastu polską architekturę i historię.
Luke and Naomi, you guys are great! Love your relaxed manner and positive attitude; your videos on Poland are not only informative but truly enjoyable. Thank you so very much, I can't wait to explore Poland myself!
Thank you so much 😊 ❤️❤️
Thank you for the video. It would be nice to see a bit of the actual city in Gdynia. Another beautiful place to go to in Poland is Hel and Sobieszewo in summer.
9:47 - That's Bulwar Nadmorski (southern one). Kamienna Góra (roughly 'Stone Mountain') is a hill which is just at the beginning of Bulwar. It has this large cross at the top (you can ride this elevator to get on top). Technically we would never call Bulwar part of the Kamienna Góra. There is also a northern bulwar, but you need to go around the port to Oksywie. It's a nice place though, less crowded. And you can go till the bulwar end to see some really wild beaches. And a leftover from war - a german torpedo R&D facility several hundred feet off the beach. As I recall this one was built for Luftwaffe, so possibly an air dropped variants. There was also a second facility for Kriegsmarine, which is in better shape and still in use by the Navy at Oksywie.
@@krasna_jedza my point exactly
your videos are getting better and better
I love it 🤙
San Francisco hat is BACK!!! Another fun video guys😁!
I bought that hat for Luke when I was on a work trip in SFO 🤣 that hat will never leave hahaha
@@TwoMadExplorers We talked about his hat on our visit to San Francisco last week.... maybe it's time to buy him another one 😁!
Well done ! This was always the shopping destination even during the 80’s - hala targowa …. Oh boy , do many memories! Hope to get to Gdynia during our visit next week. You keep on discovering the beautiful world 👏👏👏Greetings!
I love how every video of yours is packed with loads of information, how beautifully you tried to translate the vibe and history of every city and place you go to. Have a fantastic time and safe travels :) Greetings from Chicago 👋
The long promenade at the seaside you were walking on is called "Bulwar", not Kamienna Góra as you referred it to. Kamienna Góra is a hill to the west, just behind Bulwar. It's the highest point of the city. Fantastic view all over the city from there!
It's nowhere near the highest point of the city...
you are doing Poland a good advertisement, stay longer, thank you
As saw Dar Pomorza arrival in Sydney Australia on 200 Bicentennial ceremony! The ship looks spectacular ! They all town was villages long time ago but I do agree with you !
Dar Młodzieży (Gift of the Youth) was part of the Bicentennial celebrations.
My uncle was the commander of the Blyskawica ship (Stanislaw Nahorski). He moved to England and married a English woman. His family still live there.
Incredible ❤️
Naomi, if you are interested in architecture, you should go deeper in the city center, there you can experience the architecture that is the pearl in the necklace of Polish modernism of the 1930s. Old towns, such as in Gdańsk - can be seen in many other cities in Poland, but also in entire Europe. From the point of view of an architectural adventure, Gdynia's modernism is unique on such a scale.
We will be back to explore further! ❤️
The weather. The reason the Spain, Greece and Portugal are favourites
thanks guys nice video i love the place ...
So pleased to have found your videos. We're on a cruise in September and our first port is Gydnia. Firstly, you've taught me how to pronounce the name and secondly you've given me lots of ideas for our day there. Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching Angela 🍻❤️
you are great! you really visite all these places! there are too many youtubers who came and visit diffrent ocuntries only fo several hours to make photos and thats it! good job!
Thank you so much for your support ❤️❤️
10:00 this place is called bulwar nadmorski im. Feliksa Nowowiejskiego (the seaside boulevard named after feliks nowowiejski) and it is located not only in Kamienna góra but in Śródmieście too. Kamienna góra is a small district in gdynia like Orłowo or Śródmieście.
Well, a week a ago before your visiting Gdynia, the thunderstorm canceled a few Opener Festival concerts, including Dua Lipa show.
Dar Pomorza (Gift Of/From Pomerania). Built 1909 opened as a museum in 1958. Your pronunciation Luke is not perfect, but perfectly understandable.🙂👍
We just been to Gdynia today, the whole vibe was huge different from the Summer. Thanks for the video guys & enjoy your trips 🙌🏻🧳
Thanks so much guys ❤️❤️
I used to go to Gdynia a few times a year lots of time ago and it was not so commercialized. There were no shops in the promenade and just one bar with beer, fish and chips on the beach. No modern office buildings by the sea. I wouldn't like it so much nowadays I think. It was wilder before. It's a pity the weather was not so good, it's unpredictable in Poland, especially in the mountains and by the sea.
Great as always 😊👍
So beautiful 😍🌸🌼
You should visit the interior of ORP Błyskawica. It is perfectly preserved.
Best couple in UA-cam at this vacation in Poland! 💪🏅🏆🥇
❤️🇵🇱❤️🇵🇱❤️
Bono would like your Sinn Fein hat🤩 Great video, thanks.
Another fantastic video, guys! Each of the Tri-Cities has its own vibe and therefore everyone can find something to enjoy there.
❤️😄🇵🇱
You asked for our favorite of the tri-cities. Mine would have to be Gdansk because I am a lover of history and old architecture. I have also been in Sopot, but I am not so much a beach person and burn to a crisp in the sun.
nice video thank you
Wow great shareng my friend hope nxt you explore our country in the #Philippines more video stya safe always and enjoy 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
I came back from my vacation in Gdynia 4 days ago. On Saturday back to to Hungary.
Another one for the bucket list 🪣
Świetnie się was ogląda👍
Uh, you used InterCity train not SKM? SKM works like a metro in TriCity. There's also PKM, which goes around through the southern and western districts (and airport)
Was in Gydinia three weeks ago for Opener and last Monday night to see a Formula 1 car-in an Orlen filling station.

A quick interesting fact: Gdynia is one of only 3 cities in Poland that offers public transport with trolley buses (not only normal buses).
A fine film, a good job, Naomi and Luke. Gdynia is our favourite city in the Tri-City. It is great you have visited it. It is a pity you have not been to the Hel Peninsula (at least for a one-day trip by train from Gdynia) yet. Good luck and discover further wonderful, amazing and unique places in Poland and elsewhere, often off-the-beaten track, enjoy your travels, we enjoy watching your travel vlogs, warmest wishes and greetings, Paweł and Gosia 🌞 🧡 🌤 🌹 ⛱ 🌅 🧡 😊 🌞 🌟 🍀 🇵🇱 🏝 🏖 🌅 🧡 💙

Pershendetje….guys glad you enjoying Poland.. I have got loads of polish friends…..Next summer in Albania…Raki and lemoni cake are waiting for you..enjoy…
Thank you John! 👍👍 🇦🇱
Yet another great video from one of the nicest travellers on YT 👍 I appreciate your approach of just being around people and places instead of wasting tons of money on the way. Regarding Gdynia, the only big thing missing is Orłowo mentioned in the video - as it is possibly the most charming part of the Polish Coast. There is even a real theatre scene on the beach. Plus cliff, forest, fishermen’s boats, wooden pier, park, etc. Something left for the next time, ideally off-season 😉
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much for your great comment :)
Gdynia is a modern city built from the scratch in 1920's. There is not much of any history or architecture there before 1920. However there is plenty after and what's amazing about this city is - Poland built it within few years after independence post WW1. Young Polish state, which desperately needed access to the Baltic sea trade and shipyard facilities, had limited access to Gdańsk facilities, which was ruled under German control at that time (or rather Gdańsk was free city state) . That's why decision to built own port facilities next to Gdańsk but within independent polish territorial access to Baltic sea was made and Gdynia was formed. Looking at the map in 1919 will explain more probably....
Nice video 🙂Gdynia is amazing, I was born here. You only showed the strict city center, but I hope you will come back to the Gdynia and see much more of our attractions and monuments 🙂🙂
We will definitely return 👍❤️
All the best from☀️ tropic Irlandia 😉🇵🇱🇮🇪
Gdynia Orłowo is amazing ;) my place, you have to visit next time ;)
We will 👍🥰❤️
So nice 🤩I hope soo you like Trójmiasto 🤪😎
It’s amazing ❤️🇵🇱
travel is indeed the best education
Thank you
Hi Luke&Naomi
I am enjoying your tour of Poland my native country I love it ❤ I was born in Wroclaw in 1961, today I live in Montreal Canada, from 1988 and your very gentle polite, touring of Poland remaind me places I was visiting in my young age, Gdansk, Sopot, and Gdynia I was visiting when I was 14 y/o because of you Guys and your very smooth way, I really enjoyed waking this places with you Guys again after all this years. And other Polish cities, My heart stay of course in Wroclaw, but many lovley places out there for sure. Thank you and God speed!
In 2006 I enjoy Hamburg city for 3 months, Naomi's country of origin, history was stoning, great food, fish, beer 😎 Thank you Guys for very nice travel and promotion of my native Polish people and culture, greetings from Montreal all the best 🍻👊❤
Aw thank you for this great comment :) You made our day better with this one!
Thanks for watching and supporting us!
Thank you Guys 👊❤
Try the waffles 😋
I live in Warsaw, but Gdynia is my favourite Polish city. ❤ If you are going to visit Gdynia again soon, take a bus ride across the Pogórze district (bus lines 105, 146, 173 or 282) and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the city from the twisty mountain road.
Definitely Sopot is the most posh from all the 3City area. This is my impression. Cheers Guys!
Great video.
When you finish visiting Poland, I suggest you then target the Czech Republic or Hungary. As a last resort, Romania and Transylvania. Central and Eastern Europe has its own micro-cultural climate.
As for me all parts of the Tricity are very specific and different: Gdańsk is an ancient town with a lot of history; Sopot is typical sea resort and nothing else; Gdynia has been build as an harbour city in interwar period.
Being a whim of history and current political situation Gdynia has a very special place in Polish hearts. Just imagine, the place had been transformed from a tiny fisherman's village to the one one of most important cities in Poland with top notch harbour in about one decade! Many Poles came to Gdynia in 1920's and 1930's to make their dream come true.
Fantastic comment! Thanks Maciek🇵🇱❤️
Apparently there are still some leftovers from the rather wild times of increased immigration to Gdynia in 20s. It was an interesting time. I hear that Gdynia was part of the alcohol smuggling trail to the US. So possibly some shady business might have been present around port.
Well, Błyskawica does not have Gatlings, but I believe it does have Bofors for main artillery and anti-aircraft guns.
Jednak widać, że nie tylko Łódź to miasto żuli😉
In Gdańsk, it is easy to get to the Brzezno Beach. Tram and bus.
Big 👍
When Warsaw ?
You must eat GOFER. They are delish. You can pick your topping, ice-sugar or cream or even something more fancy with fruit in it. It will not disappoint. Gofry in Poland have a very long tradition going back to communism era (perhaps earlier?)...
My town 💪
Gdynia number 1🙂Ilove this city
My dear, at 9:44 you are at Gdynia Boulevard which goes from Skwer Kościuszki ( or Kosciuszko Square) to Redlowo beach ( or vice versa, where I have lived ). Kamiena Góra is a hill where Karol Olgierd Borchardt, famous polish captain and maritime writer used to live. I have lived on Płyta redłowska for quite a time) :)
PS it is crowded nowadays there :)
Thank you 🙏
Sadly you missed the twin ship of "dar pomorza" its called "dar młodzieży" it means gift for the youth and dar pomorza meas gift for the pomorze which is this close to sea part of Poland. Dar młodzieży its a training vessel for marine students. When they are bort in harbor trust me it looks realy awesome and in summer time there are always some students there having fun on the vessel and working hard. Been there done that tbh
Ty jesteś " darem niebios "😂😂😂
The reason I am wondering is because I love San Francisco 49ers and I would like to know how an Irish boy traveling in Poland ended up with their hat.
Great video! Guys check Hel Penisula a perfect and definitely unique place to spend on the beach 🏖
Gdynia ❤
Beautiful city ❤ hope to see you soon in Algeria you're welcomed 🤗
We want to visit Algeria 🇩🇿 ☺️ it’s difficult with the visa though
@@TwoMadExplorers yeah many foreigners encounter difficulties to obtain it, but recently they made it more way easier try your luck and see what happens ! Good luck 🍀
Love ur video.. and what is the name of the street with long stretch of shops malls??and what is the name of the beach with wide stretch of sand? Coz me and my friend have an idea to transfer work in gdynia. And with your video it helps a lot
Well, the weather should be good in Poland in July as it is along the dreary Lake Erie in the USA ( grew up near it and lived 6 blocks from it for about 5 years) and in some places in Ireland. I am sure that all three have great beaches for July, just don't go to these beaches in late January. That is the catch for people who live in northern climates worldwide; they want to go to the beach in January too and have the weather to enjoy it. It is not that the beaches are any better but the weather is better somewhere down south.
I grew up a few blocks away from Lake Erie too! We had a great beach in Fairport Harbor, but I actually enjoyed the views of the moody winter Lake Erie.
@@susanmance9436 Been to Fairport Harbor a few times but not to enjoy the beach.
Stay longer at Polish seashore guys, beach weather is coming back with African temperature. BTW, "G" must be firmly pronounced in front of both city names Gdynia and Gdańsk.
Gdynia moje miasto!💪
ORP (Polish Republic Ship) Błyskawica (Lightning).
Aquarium GDYNIA?
Muzeum Marynarki Wojennej GDYNIA?
Najlepsze co można kupić w Sopocie lub Gdansku to bilet na skm do Gdyni.
If you back in the south you should visit the old town of Cieszyn
You confused Kamienna Gora with the seaside boulevard, which you were walking along by the sea. From Kamina Góra there is a panorama of the Gdynia port and Kościuszko Square.
ORP Błyskawica is the only ship of this class (destroyer) in the world preserved to this day.
If you like history, it's a pity you didn't go a few hundred meters further to the Orłowo cliff. There are coastal batteries from the Cold War. You could also visit the Gdynia-Babie Doły district and see the historic former German Torpedo House from World War II.
03:40 It so happens, that one of the books written by the former (pre-war) chief officer of Dar Pomorza, Capt. Karol Olgierd Borchardt has recently become available in English translation. The English title is "I mean, said the sea captain", which is maybe not quite exact equivalent of the original title "Znaczy Kapitan". In Poland this book has a "cult" status and very rightly so, as this is one of the most beautiful books that I have ever read and many people share this opinion. It is light, humorous and easy to read, but there is much more to it than just pure entertainment. I sincerely recommend it, it's available from Amazon and other sources.
The biggest attraction of Sopot is that it connects Gdańsk and Gdynia xD
And that's why tri-city is so special! You have the whole bunch of history mixed up with a modern in (actually) one place to experience. Whatever you like. ; ]
P.S. I was nearly about to give it up, but it's - I guess - stronger than me: "Dynia" in Polish means a pumpkin. Proper prononciation goes like "Ghdynia" ; ]
Love ya both anyways! (no homo Luke, that's why I love Naomi a lil bit more :D) ; ]
Great vid(s) by you!
Z trójmiasta najlepszy jest Hel 👍 ;)
,,,,,, Gdynia rocks - fact !
The 'G' in Gdynia and Gdansk is not silent.
Thank you Isabell 🙏❤️
cześć, to nie jest Kamienna Góra tylko bulwar nadmorski :) pozdrawiam
so long since I've been there, my memory is almost B/W
To swim in the sea, take the train to the beaches of the open sea. To Władysławowo or Jastrzębia Góra.
Big like. Hello new friend here just joined you. Liked and also pressed bell icon. Great share love the video .
Lots of love and wishes from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Stay blessed and stay connected 💞✨.
Where can I message you about places in Warsaw worth visiting?
Oh Jeeez. ORP Blyskawica "The Lightening" was built in the UK, fought for the UK during WW2 and defended the UK from German air raides.
Gdynia the best
It's my city! what country are you from?
Did you went to 'kamienna góra' to see entire Gdynia view?
