Hey, glad you can be so honest with your reaction; I love the whole song. And the album is absolutely incredible. From what I've read this is the first album after her initial contract from American Idol was over. This was the first album she was able to do the kind of music she really wanted, and I'm so glad she did. Other favorites for me: Medicine, Would You Call That Love and the incredible Slow Dance.

This video is sooooo awesome. My other faves from the album are Heat and Would you call that love. Can't wait for you to react to I dare you where she sings in 6 different languages with other artists during a zoom session. Piece by piece is a great album ❤️

I resonate well with your thoughts about the abandonement issues. Finding comfort at being alone surely teaches us to love someone out of love, not loneliness. I love the fact that you try to find any specific lines/lyrics that you can comment on: it's nice to hear your thoughts on them. Looking forward to your reaction on Kelly's songs!

this song GREW on me. I didn't really like it at first. And it's still not my favorite. But it's decent. More current with the other artists of this latest generation.

I’ve been a huge Kelly fan since the very beginning; since I did my part in voting for her on AI. When the first album first came out I hated it. It feels so different that the previous KC albums. After a (kinda long, tbh) while though it became my absolute favorite. He can really hear how much her freedom has affected her life and her art. I can’t wait for everything she’s got ahead of her.

Kelly was contractually obligated to RCA Records because of winning American Idol. She had to deal with RCA records for 15 years. After that this record was produced and she got to pick her own label which is Atlantic Records. She got to pick her own songs and feel free to do the album that she always wanted to do since she won American Idol. Finally after 15 years she has the freedom to do whatever songs she's wanted to do.
Kelly is coming out with a new album soon, I hope, and it's taking a little while because of her 2-year divorce that has happened recently. Because of her having two children with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, she doesn't want to just jump into another album when children are involved. I believe a number of her songs will be about the divorce that she has gone through.
When the pandemic hits a couple years ago, Kelly has written over 60 songs or even a hundred during that time. She said that music was what made her survive through the pandemic. That's when her decision was pretty much made about getting a divorce. I love Kelly and how down to earth she is. She is so genuine, talented, kind, loving, giving, and faithful. I believe the reason that she got a divorce was because Brandon Blackstock cheated on her. He just wanted her for her money.

Kelly Clarkson is a great person, and a great vocalist. There's a song I was listening to in the car yesterday, and it's funny, although it's one of my favorite songs, there are parts of it I just don't like. lol! As I was listening to it I was like I just love the verses, but the chorus, I don't. Turned out I liked part of the chorus okay, and really dislike another part. It seemed like it was three different songs: two I liked and one I disliked - a lot. I really like the verses, so much I deal with the rest. So, yeah, it's weird to see this just after that happening. I have the same opinion you do about the trap half of the chorus (and also not really a fanr of trap soul either).
Although I like Kelly's voice a lot, I don't listen to a lot of her music. I listened more to some of her earlier songs. Stronger, Because of You and The Trouble With Love Is (very soulful type song) are three I know I liked a lot from her.
