okay, for me, and i darken was a dense book to get through, like VERY entertaining, but a lot of information is thrown at you, but the second two books in that series are two of my favorites ever. so if you eventually find yourself dragging in and i darken, it gets SO good.
In the beginning I thought that i will not finish the first book, but at the end of the series I was so happy I continued reading. Loved the ending. I still tear up about more than I year later remembering parts of it, especially the third book.
This video was exactly what I needed today! So much fun! I would love to see a reading vlog where you read all of the ones you kept so you can give us your final thoughts. You've made me really want to pick up Daughter of Smoke and Bone now after years of having it sitting on my shelf
omg, yes pls do more of this, I really like these types of videos and just the concept of trying a little bit of the book before deciding on what to do with it. that's smth I myself also try to do because you never know, sometimes the book can really surprise you
As a Romanian, I can tell you that we haaaaate Kiersten White's Vlad the Impaler retelling. She completely butchered the history and Romanian tumblr especially hates the main character's name, since it's not a Romanian variant of Vlad, as the author claims, it just means "crate", which makes the full name Lada Dracul basically translate to "devilish crate". Romanians also don't appreciate the fact that Kiersten's basically profiting off our history while also disrespecting it at the same time.
@@Catinthehatwiththerat Yeah, it's not like we expected it to be 100% historically accurate. But still we're allowed to feel offended or disappointed, especially as a small country with very few "interesting" historical figures
I read the night circus for the first time and was disappointed and didn’t love it. But then I tried it again a few months later and now it’s probably my favourite book. I just didn’t know why to expect the first time and thought it would be something different than it was, but once I knew what to expect and could love it for what it was I really just fell head over heels for it. The Good Daughter is one of the best thrillers I've ever read, but it is VERY graphic. It has amazing character development and I love the family dynamic. But it is definitely very dark and heavy.
I really enjoyed night circus it was a strange start and hard to understand all that was going on but I really enjoyed it connected with the characters and the writing
The Night Circus is great as an audiobook to listen to while falling asleep, because it paints such beautiful and delicate images it gives you the best dreams

I finished The Night Circus just over a week ago, and it was my most disappointing read of 2020. I was so excited to read it - it was so hyped up and it's so beloved by so many people - but the writing style kept me from connecting with the characters too. Scared to watch and look at the comments 😂😭 lets do this
I love your videos and generally agree with your recommendations and reviews, but interestingly I did not enjoy Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Night Circus is one of my favourite books! Be interested to see how you feel about ADOSAB :) Enjoy!
I thought daughter of smoke and bone was pretty good but the rest of the series I just thought it was okay. Now I’m hesitant to read strange the dreamer.
I think Daughter of Smoke and Bone definitely got gringey. :D That series was just a typical hyped YA trilogy of that time. The Night Circus is also so overhyped in my opinion. And I Darken is definitely still on my maybe-list.
Idk I didn’t link the good daughter... I read it thinking it would be an actual thriller but hm... it wasn’t? idk lol
I was very disappointed in the night circus. The synopsis was misleading.
Daughter of smoke and bone was an average read for me. It was okay.
The good daughter. Was a good thriller. I fairly enjoyed it. Did not find it gory or disturbing.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of my favourites, and The Night Circus was literal hot trash 😂
The Night Circus is my worst rated read of all time
The Night Circus was so unnecessarily convoluted 🤦♀️
I read the night circus for the first time and was disappointed and didn’t love it. But then I tried it again a few months later and now it’s probably my favourite book. I just didn’t know why to expect the first time and thought it would be something different than it was, but once I knew what to expect and could love it for what it was I really just fell head over heels for it. I’ve read it four times now and I love it more and more every time
Same thing happened with her second book, I didn’t love it when I read it. I plan to reread it soon because now that I know what it’s about I think I’ll enjoy it more after another time
I feel like her books are the kind that get better with each reread
