Here’s a tip: every time you strip down and rebuild parts, there will be a couple screws left over. Eventually, you will have enough parts to build a new nugget!

While I've always enjoyed seeing people be so enthusiastic about their interests, I had trouble fathoming affection for projects like the Niki-Nugget. Comparing it to camping kinda flipped a switch in my mind - it actually makes sense to me, now.
Yeah, the fuel pump pissing to the oil is a typical thing on these cars (happened to me a month ago on a SEAT 600). Also make sure the timing of the cam is right and the distributor is also on time, if it was running “right” and y’all haven’t messed the compression or something that will just be it. Btw I suggest replacing front and rear seals if planning to take the engine out, it’s pretty easy and cheap, also keep in mind this italian cars tend to piss a bit but not as much as all the British junk from the era.

Nothing helps to fix polish cars like some good, old kurwa. What's important, the amount of 'R'-s within kurwa changes depending on seriousness of the problem. For simple things, you don't even finish the word, like "Kurr..." and that's it. But, if something is seriously wrong, You should go 'kurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrwa!", adjusting the R-factor accordingly. But things don't end there! If you've done something that's really, really, REALLY bad, add "mać" at the end; it's like x10 intensity modificator. So, for example, you dropped the hammer and broke the front windshield, the proper formula will be "Kurrrrrrrrrrrrwa mać!". I hope that it will help with fixes!

2:31 when replacing splines for the tailshaft check for the metal clip in the grove at the end of the shaft. If there isn't any that's going to be recurring problem. It will chew the hub spline part in like month or two. Me and my father went down to something like 15 minutes when changing the hub spline on the road, after it broke like 20 times. And then the transmission gears just unscrewed themselves - there wasn't any damage to the transmission, just everything inside gotten out of whack enough to not transmit any power to the wheels. So many memories of this car (we had like 5 or 6 in family).
I mean, cars like this have more character than something like a shiny Tesla. Mainly because the shiny Tesla is just another shiny Tesla in a long line of shiny Teslas. The only thing special about it is that you spent way too much money on it and are now forced to love it for fear of going insane with remorse.
This thing reminds me more and more of the old Impreza in my driveway. Mine also has incredile features like: starts, sometimes gets out of park, and the highest quality duct taped interior.

My grandpa had a Maluch from the first production batch. I was ivory with orange upholstery and I loved it. He maintained it lovingly for 30 years and sold mint condition for some spare change... Even then he could've taken good money for it but he couldn't be bothered. In some other video you mentioned how much you can put in them and dude, you have no idea. I went on holidays with my grandpa in one of those and you could literally put so much stuff in and on this car that once you got it all out the pile was bigger than the car. There are two cars that make people happy when you see them. Lambos and those little nugs. (also, there's a guy who drove through Africa and Asia in Maluch, Arkady Paweł Fiedler - his stuff is on yt and I think it has English subs)

A classic tale: put loads of effort and new parts in... works worse than ever. Old bandit I had was this way. Didn't even like being washed; would just start leaking oil like mad - THE GRIME IS WHAT'S HOLDING IT TOGETHER!! Yes, mate.
I sincerely wish for the car to be in the next Mad Max with Dank Pods at the wheel with dead nuggets strapped to the bumper and a mask made of headphones.
When we gave up on our 126(2000) it was no near as bad as this one... It just needed new upholstery, brake & asset check, probably bearings too... Everything else was pretty much mint, the engine was nice to the ear and ran perfectly, body was nice a part of some scoffs here and there .... I think it was an 80s cheaper model, because it had plastic bumpers but older style dash with the round speedometer and controls all over the vinyl dashboard... Very cool
The trick to maintaining the car is to tear out the engine, and do a full rebuild when blackout drunk. Channel the magic juice, buddy!
