I’m a white person watching this, but I’m just shocked by the arrogance of the new agers. Like I can see an easy way for the new agers to resolve their issues with the tribe, and that is to just ask. Ask questions like “is it OK if we come here?”, “Is there anything we shouldn’t do when we are here?”, “how do we show proper respect when coming here?” It’s not that hard to ask questions. The analogy that is made to the mountain being like a church is a very good analogy. If you were to walk into my church dressed inappropriately, you would be asked to leave. The same rule should apply to indigenous sacred sites.
New agers are the worst thing to happen to Mt Shasta. Can't count how many promoted themselves to shaman or ascended master after dropping acid by the springs.
They are the worst things to happen everywhere. They make me laugh with their burning sage and drumming as if they know what they are doing. Just a bunch of spiritually bankrupt people who are too coward to learn about their own ethnicity.
I'm from Australia.I've been both to Sedona once and Mt Shasta 3 times.I love the North American topography as there is nothing like it here in Australia and just wanted to be surrounded by it, and I have to say that the new agers I met were the most self aggrandizing, indiscreet and pretentious pricks I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with and sorry that these parasites continue to infect the aforementioned sacred grounds. Good luck with getting back what is a part of you.
Right? Has it ever occurred to any of them that if you want to participate in local indigenous ceremonies, maaaaybe you should talk to a local person of that tribe? But I doubt half of them even knew the name Wintu.
I walk on the mountain often, but I am always respectful of the people and the land. I never step on anything growing and always stay on the paths. I love it there.
How do you know if you never step on anything growing. When they start growing they start from something so tiny you would never know. Its like people who say I've never ever killed one of God's creatures.Spiders, flies, ants ect.You can't guarantee you miss every single one while walking this fucked up planet we are lodging on.Yes lodging. All we are is the caretakers till the next come along.Yet we treat it like shite and really we horrid humans don't deserve none of the beauty this planet earth shows us,gives us and offers us. We really are one ungrateful bunch of shite.I also include myself in all that shite.
Exactly like stop with this is OUR SACRED LAND. No it’s everyone’s. Just because you were there before doesn’t mean you can be selfish with the land. That is not spiritual. Share with your brothers and sisters.
The Europeans land wasn't respected, their relations weren't respected or considered sacred. They too were tortured, raped killed for many years before they came to Turtle Island. It happened to them for so long that they don't know how to respect. They don't see the sacred. They don't SEEK the knowledge they need to know on how to treat and be with the land. Still they don't need to be babied. We need boundaries. They aren't entitled to this disrespectful behavior.
+lili lo I completely agree as one whose own tribes back in Europe were first conquered by the Roman Empire and then converted by its successor, the Catholic Church/Christianity, which destroyed our balanced, animistic, tribal living as the native Celtic, Germanic and Iberian peoples. John Trudell was completely right when he mentioned what happened to us in this same "civilizing" process that was later turned against the Native peoples of Turtle Island. The problem with these New Agers is they are part of the same Abrahamic sickness, even if they think they have escaped it. Hence their blatant theft and appropriation, mixing all kinds of traditions in an inauthentic syncretism, which ultimately comes from a lack of Boundaries which is a natural outgrowth from living out of balance with our Mother Earth. I am just one of a growing number who have turned back and reclaimed our own, but so much more healing needs to be done especially by those of us who do live here on Turtle Island.

War and gluttony are a poison that can spoil civilizations for eons. People were not meant to mistreat, neglect ostracize, abuse monetize swindle each other. These people and many like them refuse to see clearly because they have NEVER been held accountable for anything disrespectful and disgusting
Rowena Kyder, sweetheart, that's not how anything works. Tolerance is important, but when it comes to the desecration of spiritual spaces, isn't the time or place to preach tolerance. Shasta is the equivalent of a Wintu church and when entering any church you abide by its rules, it's that simple. Indigenous people are some of the least respected people on this continent, and the encroachment on Indigenous spaces by the descendants of colonizers is not okay.
Thank you so very much, we have had many conversations - and we've talked to people about watching this documentary - and Caleen's Interview. Thank you for making this source a reference point.
5:32 lol. His drumming was terrible. How disingenuous some park rangers can be. The young hippies didn't like being lectured about respecting the land and the native way. Leave nature alone is missed by them hippies who think anywhere is their bed and toilet.
i live in mount shasta and it is my home town and in the last 10 years this place has gone to shit...the reason mount shasta is what it is, is the very reason it is being ruined by basically EVERYONE who has moved here from the city and have NO clue what small town living is..not only have we had dozens of e-coli water warnings, we have yearly spills of raw sewage into lake siskiyou...I CANT BELIEVE THE LOCALS HERE ARE EXCEPTING WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR LITTLE TOWN...so many other things then just pan handlin "hippies" on every corner ruining this town...
@Phil Graves he ain't talking shit on the natives but the new agers. He seems to respect the tradition, and isn't the town of Mt Shasta in Shasta territory and not Wintu?
This was so painful to watch. I'm looking at the comments and see so many white people saying the indigenous people are being bigoted and xenophobic but none of you are adressing the violence being done here. These people are not interacting or connecting with the ancient spirits on Shasta. They sit around and talk about an idealized "Native" spirituality of a bygone era and sit with disgust, dismissal, and indifference at LIVING and BREATHING indigenous descendants of these so-called "Natives in the past." The Wintu people have been communicating with the spirits of this land LONG before any of you decided to come along and they are explaining to you all how to be respectful, and you, with ZERO connection or continuaity of ancestral belonging have the audacity to SCOFF because the people you romanticize as DEAD are ALIVE and telling you to back off. The disrespect and entitlement is astounding.
@@alcosmic nah a lot of new agers/disconnected witches r like this. they see their practices as genuine and real and often don't realize they're dealing with impostor spirits and engage in a lot of really dangerous spiritual practices because they want to feel like they belong to something.
Very good piece. Just shining the light of understanding on the differences between the groups has a healing effect. Prob both sides have something to learn from the other, with the weight of historical precedence being given to the Wintu. I.e. The Wintu have more to teach the crystal children than vice versa.
On August 18, 2005, I witnessed a hewy helicopter fly in and land in upper Sacred Flower Meadows just after sunrise. It dropped the cremated remains of some new age person in the spring. The spring was not developed like shown here.at that time. I was at the Harmonic Convergence but I did not camp there. I have never camped there because the New Agers claim it as their gathering spot. They leave their idols in the stream, dam up the creek, make their own medicine wheels and build momuments. It makes me cry. I have petitioned the USFS to prohibit camping there. It's a small meadow. All the people hiking upon it are destroying it. It's a fragile eco system. The one time I camped at Sacred Flower Meadow was during a Charile Red Hawk Thom sweat.
I really don't like the passive agressive tone of the rangers. Those kids aren't hurting anything and if they aren't trespassing then what's the problem? Because they smoked a joint up there? I'm sure the Mountain doesn't mind a little weed smoking going on
Turtle Islands peoples were called this and that in this discussion here. I mean in the end they were and still are helpless in almost any way (weapons, "religions", immune system, cultural aggressiveness, ... and number) . The open hands of the Europeans were opened to take not to give in almost any encounter, now and back then. If you can imagine this fundamental experience for more than five centuries you may understand their wish to protect their (last) sacred places.
There are many boxes of native ways so that is wrong but it is really wrong for disrespectful people to step into anothers home and do what they want to do. Hence the old expression when in Rome. Well when in Wintu
Thank you for sharing this. This is why I, as a white woman will not go there unless invited by the tribe. I have spend time on Shasta. I felt her power and was told in dreams on her to respect this church. I have not camped on her since. If I am to be there again, it will only be by invitation by the protectors of this human wisdom. Thank you.
They need to designate the area as a Sacred site..!!! Federal, State and Tribal..With Powers of prosecution to go after those who blatantly desecrate the site..!!.. NATIVE INDEPENDENCE..!!!
Aa long as the new age people clean their mess up.what the problem ? If you worship the great spirit do you believe he is the spirit for all humans.calling people selfish and not knowing their hearts is wrong.
"If the New Age people aren't breaking any laws, they have the right to be there. We allow the natives on our lands, so they should extend the same courtesy." FYI some of the native nation have sovereignty on their territories and their own laws. And about "our lands". That land were our first before the European invade.
El Capitan Paralepepipedo that land was not yours before Europeans invaded you conquered it from others the same way Europeans conquered it from you. This is been going on since the beginning of time of course the way we treated the native was brutal and wrong outlawing their ceremonies "kill the Indian save the man policies" etc.. but now the natives look like complete hypocritical assholes for getting upset did a large and growing group of their fellow Americans are interested in their spiritual practices. And instead of helping these "spiritually bankrupt" people you want to work against them and actively prevent them from obtaining any spiritual growth that is the most selfish and heartless thing any soul can do. Their ancestors are extremely disappointed with their behavior.
@@sweed6054 lol. What. Indigenous knowledge isn't for everyone. You guys lost it at your own doing. Plus if they don't accept you it's probably because you have bad intentions as is apparent here. Our ancestors don't talk to strangers...
@@sweed6054 nice try settler. That's not what I meant and we both know it. I'm more connected than you'll ever be. If it w asnt for us ya'lls ungrateful asses wouldn't even be here. You don't know of me, my people , or my culture. And you never will!
I have seen this before. This discussion is very important for people seeking to honor the traditional ways of the Original Peoples of North America, Turtle Island. Some New Agers come with sincere interests for some it is a fad. We are all descended from tribal peoples. Many non-INdians now feel a deep longing to be reconnected to the Land and their own spiritual roots, those that preceded the Holy Roman Empires Forced Conversion of Europe. I am one of those people that are not Native but found my way to the Medicine Wheel and found hope. I pray that all people would respect Native peoples and their sacred places and that Native Peoples would be patient with those who have just started on the Red Road or those on their own path and may not always understand the nuances of Native Traditions. When a non native comes to a Native event or sacred place they mush show respect and deference to their ways. There are deep wound that still exist between our peoples but the time has come to stand together before the Great Spirit.
Go and find your original people and leave us alone. We have been patient for 528 years. You have no right to ask us for anything. "Nuance"? You are so lost. Shut up with your "Great Spirit" crap. You are too ignorant. Go back to Europe to find YOUR roots and leave us alone.
I think the natives to this area need to work on educating the public especially at Panther Meadows. When I first went there I had no idea how important this spot was until I was told by someone else much later. Nothing posted, so how are these people suppose to understand? Maybe get permission to post the true story and request respecting their ways. I think it's really asking a lot to expect them to know. They need to post and educate it's a truly beautiful spot and I think people "others" would respect it more.
We had informative brochures, signs and people who explained to many visitors the sacredness of the area and the spiritual protocols for being there. It was listed as historical cultural properties of the Winnemem Wintu, the forest service has seen fit to include other tribes, they have systematically re-instituted a removal of acknowledgment of the Winnemem also the signage was continually defaced, the brochures were removed, often by a very vocal few who live in the area and consider their pagan rights override tribal protocols, federal regulations, federal laws and state regulations and laws. Now they (the powers to enforce regulations) are allowing bus loads of spirituality seekers from around the world to visit the ecologically delicate area. The take down barriers, bathe in the spring, leave their offerings in the spring, their are those who even dump their loved ones cremains in the spring and around the meadow. To be 100% CLEAR IT IS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW TO LEAVE REMAINS ON OR IN FEDERAL LANDS. But every year when we go to the spring we have to clean bone chips out of the spring, we find obvious cremains around the trails, there has also been fragments of teeth from the cremains in the spring. We also have to remove a litany of stones, metals, crystals, and offerings of plants, shrines one year we even removed two pentagrams with satanic offerings, It Was Not Wiccan, we have removed those also. We know the difference. Thousands of people take water from the spring, foul the delicate banks of the stream, remove plants and flowers. Some of that alpine meadow heather and flowers take up to 300 years before they flower, One foot step and they are gone for another 100 years. Some of those little trees people think as saplings are also up to 500 years old. Yes a 3'' to 5" in diameter tree can be 500 years old. Our tribe an volunteers have spent many summers building permanent trails to keep people out of the meadow. We have rebuilt the spring head wall, place barriers and signage to keep people out of the spring. Our tribe removed nonnative plants and replanted many parts of the meadow and spent years rehabbing the vegetation to bring it back to it's beauty pre-harmonic convergence and new age emergence assault. What are rewards? Comments like Michael Wilhide has to say ---"If the New Age people aren't breaking any laws, they have the right to be there. We allow the natives on our lands, so they should extend the same courtesy. A hint to you IT IS ALL NATIVE LANDS, NO Person or power in heaven or earth gave anyone the right to remove the Indigenous Peoples from their Lands and territories". The Doctrine of Discovery and Manifest Destiny are only justification for genocide.
Wow. Well don't give up. I would be mad if someone did that to my saved area. There is much you can do spiritually over this area to create complete ownership and kick all energies off but it would be ongoing. Last time I was up there there were bunches of stoned out young kids camping there. The area looked much better than I had seen it. Upper meadows looked incredible but had small small little signs. I do not understand why the park service would no have bigger signs, its small to ask. I am not full native american, but I can see how mad they get at "white people". Not all white people are the same but I see the trail of ignorance on the mountain. Most all of my friends would fully support helping protect this area and see it as sacred. Videos are good but please understand some people want to support you if they have clear understanding, Many of us want to see natives fully supported and empowered.
@@DavidMartinez-ko2hx Thank you for what you've done and do. The author of the comment you are referring to is known as an internet troll. They always show up to stir the pot and it's better to ignore them. It sounds like there is possibly some corruption going on among local authorities, considering a few vocal people have such a weight and busloads of people being allowed? Perhaps a more drastic change is needed via a legal route to ban all gatherings and camping unless authorized by the tribe. This has to go straight to your president and the Supreme Court, otherwise I don't see a change happening.
The white dreadloc group was offensive. (They're not hippies) They're just stoned, unemployed, rich kids looking for a new place to chill. They could care less about the indigenous people whose land that rightfully is. It's embarassing because they were disrespectful. It's a sacred church and she's not asking much of them, yet they still had to protest. Not all of us are like that, believe me.
I highly disagree with the natives they probably killed other tribes for that land because they were selfish and wanted the holy land all to themselves and now they are but hurt they can’t throw tomahawks at the people on their spot
So annoying. Would it hurt for some of these New Agers as shown in this clip to respect the Natives and their space? Did y'all know the St. Germain Foundation has a whole section marked off near Mount Shasta(I think for their funky-a$$ resort?)?? And I believe that area also belongs to the Natives! Infuriating...
Every year once, for a week, Ainu tribe of North Japan (Hokkaido) holds ceremonial gathering and festival together with newagers''.. (I dont like this term, 'newager' either.. Everyone is or will be new ager since awakening is upon every human of this planet and this is the new age of the old souls). So, Ainu people who are holding such gathering in their most sacred lands together with elders and youngers and newagers'', share the gathered wisdom of ages and experience the oneness together. (By the way some of these newagers might be their true ancestors, finding path to oneness in different ways. An ancestor might come in front of us and we can not recognize if we choose to look solely by your eyes) This is time for letting go of the injured pride, Time to forgive and embrace each other... On the other hand till the awakening reaches to higher stages, we need potectors of the sacred sites from the senselessness of some people. Appreciation and thanksfullness feelings goes to those who carry this responsibility... Middle path is the path of compassion and unconditional love. Respectfully shared from heart, how it flows.
What Ainu? Do you mean the bullshit museum that is an insult to the real Ainu culture? Yes, most of the Ainu there would access to let "crazy white people" do whatever they want just for money. Ainu culture is sold nowadays. A lot of Ainu people are almost like modern Japanese sold also. Don't get me wrong. I would think that it's ok if some dudes from the west go there to learn real Ainu culture. But sadly almost always it's only a stupid theatre where there is only a soulless carcass. I would respect any non-Ainu who actually get deep into the culture, go to the mountain cold with snow and endure hunting with bow and arrows deers or bears. That's what experiencing another culture is about, and not a weekend trip singing songs which you don't know the meaning with modern "Ainu" just to have an "experience".
These natives are so uninclusive what the hell do they expect to happen when they keep damn near all their stuff secret of course the majority of people aren't gonna understand.
There is mass awakening in white bc we need help. We need help to learn, to teach and guide. It's an opportunity for growth, not a platform for appropriation.
New agers need to stay away from the sacred sites of the indigenous people and have laws that protect these sites from the arrogance of these so-called new agers. Rowena does not care she care what she can get out of it and what she can sell. These people have no right to destroy what the Creator gave to the indigenous people as their sacred place and home. Evidently, Rowena is a person it is all about her, and if it destroyed so be it. But there is karma and it will show its ugliness to her.
The New Agers seemed to come in peace, seeking participation and harmony with our great mother, yet you say they are empty and only there for their own gratification - you labeled their journey as spiritual bankruptcy. How can anyone say they know the spiritual intentions of another, or how someone feels, especially when they are drawing negative attention/energy to the other person.
They may be well-intentioned but they're not entitled to the sacred space. If they come in peace, then they should move when asked. There are so many places to be in harmony with the earth and if they were truly there for their spiritual journey, they would respect the people who have been custodians of that specific space and go on their way.
new agers are the most dumb egotistical fuckers on the planet, they think they can do no harm and no wrong due to their "enlightenment" and their "connection with nature" yet they readily accept bastardized versions of the sciences to justify their beliefs For example, I have taken multiple courses that deal with quantum mechanics with one being entirely about the quantum mechanics of matter and I can say with 100% certainty that any guru that says something about "higher frequencies" or really anything with frequencies at all is talking out of their ass It's not even the classical sciences too, any anthropologist worth their salt can tell you that all cultures deserve to have their beliefs and customs protected and they actually look at the meanings behind the customs rather than parroting them for their own spiritual gain or trampling over them when they want those customs for themselves Then we got the vegan people on the sidelines of the new age movement that often intersects with it, they're probably the least insufferable group associated with the new age movement since the meat industry is a major contributor towards greenhouse gasses, humans have been consuming animal products for far too long and we need them to survive whether it be meat or like eggs and milk, as an aside I've actually been thinking of becoming a vegetarian myself due to the benefits it brings to the world I know what I am and I'm not a great person, I can be rather negative and cynical but at least I'm not a new age sucker and have actually learned and applied my knowledge Native traditions and beliefs are built upon years of history and strife to survive in oftentimes hostile terrain and deserve to be preserved in the modern world Science is built upon the backs of monumental thinkers and rigorous testing to ensure that the information presented is correct The new age movement is built upon picking and choosing from aspects of those two categories based on what looks cool then misinterpreting it to make it look cooler Spiritually bankrupt doesn't even begin to cover the depths of which the new agers take their ignorance and stupidity New agers know nothing, believe that it is everything, and think themselves above others due to what they know
They kind of have to be. Their people nearly wiped out, most of their lands taken from them. I get why they are not understanding. Put yourself in their shoes. @Joseph Henry.
To Keep the Peace, we will need to agree on the words we will be using. Like the word, Natal, the word Native refers only to Birth and not Race. The word Indigenous would refer to a racial grouping. And so the others would be called Non-Indigenous, when they are here. But when they go back home they might be Indigenous again. Because the Natives are like the People, who own the House. And yes. People have been conquered, and displaced, by Non-Native Peoples, through-out history. But the word Native is only meant to be used, in Distinction to Immigrants, or invaders, who were born somewhere else. It is an Honor to be a Native. Why? Natives have unique Rights, like the Presumption of Innocence. And all the others will be expected to show respect. Can we agree on this much? Good.
The white lady claims claims, it doesn't matter who you are.... 'The land knows its owners" and it will open and swallow those that do not know the right rituals of respect of the water and lands....
wolflodge Native Americans are the joke nothing but a bunch of hypocrites too quick to play the victim. They complain because the government outlawed the rituals now they're upset that a large group of people are interested and once you take part in them. Nothing but a bunch of selfish and heartless souls that would actively work against others improving their spirituality.
sweed it’s not your culture. There hidden from non natives for a reason. You will never be privy to what we do in our ceremonies. In fact if you were to come our New Mexico reservation, you wouldn’t last a minute here. You are not Native. !!!!
bigbillwaltonsacidheads you don't know me at all or what I have or haven't taken part in. If Caucasians are such low life piece of shits then what exactly does that say about Native Americans? Considering it only took a few thousand caucasians to defeat and conquer an entire continent populated by millions of natives on their own home turf were they were familiar with the land, flora and fauna whilst the Invaders where in oceanway from supplies reinforcements and anything even remotely familiar. What kind of people can't set aside their petty differences to preserve their culture and way of life? The dumb caucasians where savvy enough to use tribes to fight against each other, I guess even idiots can outwit natives time and time again. Your people have adopted European names, medicine, and general way of life, sure at one time it was forced, but it hasn't been for the last hundred years. Yet the vast majority of native americans turn their backs on their own culture. Tribal languages are dying dances forgotten and for what? A miserable existence on the rez living off in measly government check many putting alcohol before their own children. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage, I find them extremely interesting but give up on the constant playing the victim role and this land was ours give it back etc. Never in history has a nation conquered another and then felt sorry for them and gave them their land back. The Lakota certainly didn't do it with the Cheyenne and Arapaho for example why would you expect any different? And before you jump on the trendy bandwagon of hating on all white people consider, they're the only race to ever go to war for the freedom of a separate people. While natives were busy taking scalps and squabbling amongst their own, hundreds of thousands of white men risked their life for someone else to have the opportunity to be free.
sweed so much truth in your post. I am not a fan of hipsters either, and respect culture especially where respect is due, but Natives often tend to nit pick certain habits to retain that are favorable just like the westerners-not just nit picking what is convenient based on your great grandparents past mixed with your newly adopted western Americanized lifestyle. This hypocrisy in the DISGUSTINGLY RACIST (against white people, its definitionally RACISM no matter what race your against) Native tribes that are on food stamps and welfare but hate the white man but keep their walmart dr pepper paid for with EBT.
It's embarrassing. Why don't they go to the indigenous to ask about treir true spiritual ways instead of doing the clown with rastafari hair and a drum?
@Ghana Gonder I don't think it would be abusive or disrespectful to ask people about their ways or culture. After all, your are thinking about them as teachers. If these guys are lost in life and they need guidance what is wrong about asking for it to indigenous people?
@Ghana Gonder I criticized that in my first comment. But there is a difference between invading, stoling or bothering and asking for knowledge with respect. You talk about Europeans as if we were all the same. I'm European and I'm interested in tribal cultures. I have learn a lot from native people and I have never invaded any place or been disrespectful to them. I hate the New Age movement and all the BS they say and do. I don't identify myself with that and don't want to be identified with it by others as well. A lot of Europeans miss their native roots because we lost that more than 2000 years ago. That's why most of us find knowledge and guidance in native cultures from another parts of the world which have preserved the natural ways. I have never been to Africa or America. But if I went there to meet native people and know them and they looked at me as "another bothersome European" it would be sad. It would be racism. Because racism not always go in the same way, it can go both ways. I have lived in Japan and I know what I'm talking about, because there they are very racist towards us, the Europeans. Being European is not equal to be a colonialist abuser. Nor it means to be rude, New Age, or whatever. You can be European and be also the victim of racism, abuse, etc. And you can feel betrayed by your own culture and be against it. In that case, I don't see nothing wrong with asking for help to other people who know well about those things and have roots which you don't have.
@Ghana Gonder Is this an interrogation? Are you assuming that I'm suspicious just because I'm European? You should speak horizontally and not "from above". I'll answer all your questions when you answer mine. 1 - Are you native from an African tribe? 2 - Are you a black supremacist? (It would be helpful for context). Answering your first question. No, I'm not blamming Christianity only. I was thinking specially in the Roman Empire, which to me were very destructive for Europe. The Roman colonialism still runs deep and oppress those, like me, who reject it. In modern science, names in latin are used and we are forced in schools to learn those. And I was forced to learn latin language in high school, even hating it so much as I do. You can argue that the Romans were "white" or "Europeans" but so were Celtic people, for example. Answering to your second question. Yes, I myself have suffered a lot of racism and discrimination in Japan. And historically speaking the arabs invaded Spain in the Middle Ages. That is only an example of non-whites invading whites. I think that you are smart enough to find more historical examples by yourself. And by the way, I have no "global defendants". And you could also search about the Japanese and the Ainu. White native people who had their way of life destroyed and received by far worse treatment than the natives from America. I know that you said Europe and not white, but you know what I mean. I'm tired of being viewed and treated like suspicious or "the oppressor" just for being European and white. Abour your other question, like I said, answer mine first. It's fair to first introducing yourself before asking the other to do so.
I looked out at my garden to find the young doe that's adopted my land now has a young friend. She likes to eat the hay I bring in for the horses too. Will we learn to respect each other as she grows her family and share my small fenced space on this mountain or will be become enemies... offending each other with our presence... ? Spirituality will raise humanity from the depths of despair caused by man made religions and the self absorbed ego. Use your talents to create peace and harmony on that mountain or that mountain will rebel.
At first I was bringing at the new agers but by the end of the videos my perception on what was what changed quite a bit after seeing how uninclusive and bigoted some of the natives could be.
If what you say is true, it's up to those who are uninclusive and bigoted to have to live with that disability. It may appear to be what you say, but maybe it isn't.
Omg what the heck freakin new age weirdos! Spiritual bankruptcy is right! You can see the disregard for the land hurting the grass and their dog pooping,
While I have a disdain for these new age spiritualists ,Shasta is not tribal land and this belongs to everyone. It is really annoying when certain people claim to know more about the land when it is all based Non science and fairy tales.
I was born in the US. My father and his father before him were both born in the US. My children were born here....and so were theirs. At what point do you become a "Native American?" God is not an Israelite nor is Allah of the desert. The great Yogis brought the Hindu meditations and the mantras to the West to share them with all of mankind. I have run enipi sweatlodge for over 20 years. Great Spirit is for ALL humans and ALL relations. I do not remember seeing y'all at Pantheacon but I will be on the lookout in 2020!
This is and was their sacred place well before USA and New Age pop spirituality. Entitlement of use masked with enlightenment is simply ego eccentric nonsense.
Okay, so don't be spiritual in the forest. Just go there and don't be spiritual. We are entitled to go there just because it is National Forest and public land and our tax dollars help maintain that. That is unmasking enlightenment for you. But if we also want to pray or play a drum or take our shirt off in the summer a forest ranger is going to come up and bother me in the forest? Guess what? Jerusalem is sacred to three religions. Mount Kailash is sacred to five religions. These were just a few hippies going into the woods to play a drum on a summer day, not hurting anybody, and were not even nude. Law enforcement in the forest to enforce political correctness? Good thing those were such respectful pacifist hippies. If law enforcement tried that in North Carolina or Tennessee they would have been shot at.
I don't mean any offense but it's another example of white privilege & this is obvious to me & this is not even my faith ( I'm a Christian). Just my humble opinion. The nail in that coffin of that conclusion for me, was when the analogy of 'if it was a building put up...they might then respect the boundaries.' I think the fact that they are going there & doing their own religious ceremonies without respecting the wishes of the natives that consider this their sacred place is proof positive of this fact. With that stated...this is a free country & everyone has a right to public land. So for those that do not believe in the natives religion ( for example, I believe entities if they reside their are probably fallen angelic beings in that its Angel's & the fallen ones. Angel's are focused on doing GODs will & do not engage with mankind outside of GODs desires. So.. if persons aren't of the natives faith as long as they're willing to love their native neighbors by respecting their right to believe and operate in the religion they choose by not engaging in taking upon themselves to do new religious stuff upon their place of 'building's which is the land that belonged to them 1st...and engaging in hiking the trails, camping, just normal outdoor stuff and enjoying Gods gift of the earth, it should be allowed. Also, it should not involve any pollution of land, and some agreement between the native reps & Park Rangers should be considered. if hiking or enjoying God's gift of nature is trespassing also on their religion my heart would go out to my neighbors ( whom we are to love as ourselves) nevertheless unless privately owned; all of the nation's citizens should be free to enjoy it as with all parks. This is not the same as doing new age rituals upon another's place of their religion. I'm just speaking of regular hiking, camping, etc. This is my opinion. My bottom line I guess is: Respect others.🖖🏽. Follow the Golden Rule.
I’m sorry to hurt you peoples feelings but to inform you all that these people yes are natives but they truly are not the true natives because the natives were black until Europeans and the Spanish conquered. These natives are mixed of Asian and Mexican if you go back and see who conquered them. People feel so bad for these indigenous but never remember a lot of “culture” would not be here if it were not for Egypt 🙏
You're full of Baloney! Black people come from Africa and when the white people came to America they brought black slaves with them and many black slaves escaped from their masters and many of them escapees ended up living with Native American tribes.

1st: I really dislike these new age fools and think it shows a lack of respect for the natives and their lands by having a cheap imitation of their customs. 2nd: I think one of the best ways to get respect for and to preserve your culture is to share it with others, even just in an educational way and not in an inclusive way, will make people care more about it. I find that most native tribes are very reclusive with their cultures and you see tribes that thrive because they make it a point to educate.
STOP! NOW!. I'm open to anything in life and will try anything. But come on.The reason these people go miles out the way is because they're doing a stretch in a mental institution if found on the street in a city.

So grateful for this beautiful mountain and the Wintu people that hold it so dear in their hearts
I’m a white person watching this, but I’m just shocked by the arrogance of the new agers. Like I can see an easy way for the new agers to resolve their issues with the tribe, and that is to just ask. Ask questions like “is it OK if we come here?”, “Is there anything we shouldn’t do when we are here?”, “how do we show proper respect when coming here?”
It’s not that hard to ask questions.
A Joke to the native nations.

You wanna live the way they did but when they tell you how they live you disagree.
I know right 😖 that was VERY offensive.
Right? Has it ever occurred to any of them that if you want to participate in local indigenous ceremonies, maaaaybe you should talk to a local person of that tribe? But I doubt half of them even knew the name Wintu.

This is true with the ENTIRE LAND of the U.S.ofA.

This was so painful to watch. I'm looking at the comments and see so many white people saying the indigenous people are being bigoted and xenophobic but none of you are adressing the violence being done here.

They need to post and educate it's a truly beautiful spot and I think people "others" would respect it more.
the public needs to work on its own education

This has to go straight to your president and the Supreme Court, otherwise I don't see a change happening.

An ancestor might come in front of us and we can not recognize if we choose to look solely by your eyes)
This is time for letting go of the injured pride,
Time to forgive and embrace each other...

Great to see video of Florence. Thanks. (Rowena is into herself. Has been for decades.)
who is Rowena?
Looks like a great place to plant a megachurch, their doors are open to any false teachings.
Every natural space in America is sacred
The New Agers seemed to come in peace, seeking participation and harmony with our great mother, yet you say they are empty and only there for their own gratification - you labeled their journey as spiritual bankruptcy. How can anyone say they know the spiritual intentions of another, or how someone feels, especially when they are drawing negative attention/energy to the other person.
They may be well-intentioned but they're not entitled to the sacred space. If they come in peace, then they should move when asked. There are so many places to be in harmony with the earth and if they were truly there for their spiritual journey, they would respect the people who have been custodians of that specific space and go on their way.
new agers are the most dumb egotistical fuckers on the planet, they think they can do no harm and no wrong due to their "enlightenment" and their "connection with nature" yet they readily accept bastardized versions of the sciences to justify their beliefs
For example, I have taken multiple courses that deal with quantum mechanics with one being entirely about the quantum mechanics of matter and I can say with 100% certainty that any guru that says something about "higher frequencies" or really anything with frequencies at all is talking out of their ass
It's not even the classical sciences too, any anthropologist worth their salt can tell you that all cultures deserve to have their beliefs and customs protected and they actually look at the meanings behind the customs rather than parroting them for their own spiritual gain or trampling over them when they want those customs for themselves
Then we got the vegan people on the sidelines of the new age movement that often intersects with it, they're probably the least insufferable group associated with the new age movement since the meat industry is a major contributor towards greenhouse gasses, humans have been consuming animal products for far too long and we need them to survive whether it be meat or like eggs and milk, as an aside I've actually been thinking of becoming a vegetarian myself due to the benefits it brings to the world
I know what I am and I'm not a great person, I can be rather negative and cynical but at least I'm not a new age sucker and have actually learned and applied my knowledge
Native traditions and beliefs are built upon years of history and strife to survive in oftentimes hostile terrain and deserve to be preserved in the modern world
Science is built upon the backs of monumental thinkers and rigorous testing to ensure that the information presented is correct
The new age movement is built upon picking and choosing from aspects of those two categories based on what looks cool then misinterpreting it to make it look cooler
Spiritually bankrupt doesn't even begin to cover the depths of which the new agers take their ignorance and stupidity
New agers know nothing, believe that it is everything, and think themselves above others due to what they know
Hmmm... spiritual lineage is as important as blood lineage...? No, it doesn't trump the indigenous claim to sacred spaces.
It seems to me that the natives are being rather xenophobic. They should be more inclusive and celebrate diversity, not act as bigots.
"There's only one box on Wintu" That's all you need to understand.

But the word Native is only meant to be used,
in Distinction to Immigrants, or invaders,
who were born somewhere else.
It is an Honor to be a Native.
Why? Natives have unique Rights,
like the Presumption of Innocence.
And all the others will be expected to show respect.
Can we agree on this much? Good.
The white lady claims claims, it doesn't matter who you are.... 'The land knows its owners" and it will open and swallow those that do not know the right rituals of respect of the water and lands....
I'd like to believe that 20 years later those kids realize what asshole they were... But probably not.
You have to respect their rules you are on their land
By camping in such places. these "new agers" are also urinating, defecating and leaving trash. Shameful!
hipocrate
LMAO 😂🤣😂 at the nude comments....the shirtless guys 😒😒
New agers are such a freaking joke!!
your the fucking joke with your Kelly Clarkson and Adele give me a fucking break
wolflodge Native Americans are the joke nothing but a bunch of hypocrites too quick to play the victim.
I'm sorry, I was rainbow, we were disrespectful. I apologize. I was young and didn't know better,
And the lib cops come into lol
..🦊...is there any way I could get my money back ? ,......🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Tolong kasih sy hp android baru. Supaya saya sembuh. Dan app penyembuhannya.
If you desicrate catholic jewish muslim ..house of prayers it is considered almost a act of war. .so inthe case ..have their scalps...
El movimiento de la Nueva Era se convirtió en una miscelánea o supermarket espiritual y esoterico.
Then you missed the whole meaning which is so sad. Watch again with your heart and not your analytical mind.
only Jesus saves from evil spirits, no one else
Omg what the heck freakin new age weirdos! Spiritual bankruptcy is right! You can see the disregard for the land hurting the grass and their dog pooping,
While I have a disdain for these new age spiritualists ,Shasta is not tribal land and this belongs to everyone. It is really annoying when certain people claim to know more about the land when it is all based Non science and fairy tales.
I was born in the US. My father and his father before him were both born in the US. My children were born here....and so were theirs. At what point do you become a "Native American?"
God is not an Israelite nor is Allah of the desert.
1000 years 🙄.....white people and their privilege
Stfu you stupid fuck
I like the Author claiming she was Every race, even native american
This is and was their sacred place well before USA and New Age pop spirituality. Entitlement of use masked with enlightenment is simply ego eccentric nonsense.
They weren't born yet.
The Hidden Yogi disrespecting the native ?
kevin costner 500 nation's!!.
hoka!!!!
I don't mean any offense but it's another example of white privilege & this is obvious to me & this is not even my faith ( I'm a Christian). Just my humble opinion. The nail in that coffin of that conclusion for me, was when the analogy of 'if it was a building put up...they might then respect the boundaries.'
I think the fact that they are going there & doing their own religious ceremonies without respecting the wishes of the natives that consider this their sacred place is proof positive of this fact.
There is so much wrong with this comment I don't even know where to begin.
You're full of Baloney! Black people come from Africa and when the white people came to America they brought black slaves with them and many black slaves escaped from their masters and many of them escapees ended up living with Native American tribes.
@@sandypawz645
One such tribe was the Semilones.

i cant believe that they said ....they didnt want children up there.......ARE YOU KIDDING ME
It's a cultural thing. Don't bring someone up to a holy place until they can fully understand what that holy place means.
Gentrification.
Ugh! Those new agers think they can do whatever they want.
It's not spiritual to exclude others from your culture or spiritual traditions, it's judgmental and spiteful
STOP! NOW!. I'm open to anything in life and will try anything. But come on.The reason these people go miles out the way is because they're doing a stretch in a mental institution if found on the street in a city.
Ndns were nude before the white man lol. It's all about God consciousness, if you're not connected to Him then you're in flesh conscious only; and you'll disrespect everything and just gain karma if you aren't humble to change. The drummer with black dreads seemed solid but not those other drainbows.
These new agers are the definition of cringe
Bunch of weirdos
