  • Hey Riders,
    today I want to talk about one of my favourite jackets, the 3 layers DEFENDER 3 GTX from REV'IT!
    I have been using this jacket for the last 20000km, on my way to Nordkapp and in Morocco, across many scenarios and I found this jacket very complete.
    Enjoy the video and let me know if you have have questions.

    @6:03 that's something I don't like about what revit is doing. On the previous defender pro, that shoulder protector was bigger, going around the back and covering a part of the shoulder blade. Also because it was bigger it had less change to slide around (search for seeflex RV11 to see the old one). I recently got the Poseidon 3 GTX and it has the same smaller RV 13 shoulder protector. Cost reductions I guess ..

    Sir, that’s the first time I come to your channel and I loved it, thanks for your great review! I have a question: some years ago I bought a Revit jacket (this was 2015, I guess), at the time I didn’t have a motorcycle, I just bought it because I found it cool, and it costed at the time something like 400 euros (I don’t remember the model). Well, after 3-4 years of normal use in winter (never on a motorcycle), the jacket was done. Since that I kept with a very bad impression from revit, I thought it was just plain shit. But then I heard so many good things about the brand that I asked myself, if my case at the time was not just an unfortunate one. Can you say something about the durability of revit? Do you have experience with other products from the brand besides this jacket? I’m asking that because I’m thinking about buying the jacket, since I’m a motorcycle rider now.

    • @connectionearth
      @connectionearth  8 місяців тому +1

      Hey Edgar, thanks! 🙌🏻 on your point: I think I that motorcycle jackets needs special care as they go trough lots of “stress”. For example, this jacket is 2 years old but seems new because after every trip I wash it carefully, and store it with care. This is the 4th jacket I bought from Rev’it and I think they quality is just great! 👍🏻

      Hey there! Thanks 😊 no the jacket doesn’t have any pocket for this. But you can use the internal back protector pocket if you, like me, are using a body armor to protect yourself. 👍🏻

    Thank you for the review. I'm torn between the Defender 3 GTX and the new Poseidon 3 GTX. The price is almost the same. Why does the Defender have a rain-resistant Goretex liner? Isn't the outer jacket made of Goretex and isn't that main jacket rain-resistant?

    • @connectionearth
      @connectionearth  Рік тому +1

      Hey Robi, I haven’t retired the Poseidon. The Defender jacket is not GTX only the inner jacket is. 👍🏻

      @@connectionearth Isn't it better to buy a jacket that's made of Gore-Tex rather than a jacket that isn't waterproof but only has a lining made of Gore-Tex??

    • @connectionearth
      @connectionearth  Рік тому +1

      @@robibilic2494 what I learnt is that in the case of heavy rain, also a GTX jacket will be wet or anyway will be very humid. Probably will take sometimes before will dry. In case of heavy rain I prefer the non GTX because I wear the rain jacket/pants which are the best option (and keep you warm in colder months). For light rain the defender performs just fine. 👍🏻
      Moreover I like that the lining is GTX because I can use it in many occasions after my ride.

    Great review, thanx! The outer part looks great but the fact the thermal part is not usable as separate jacket directs me to Spidi 4 Season jacket. I can't understand how the company like Revit can't do it right way. When they include thermal part they spend money for production anyway. Why just don't add the value to the product especially when this is rather a top shelf of their products :(

    • @connectionearth
      @connectionearth  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey man, thanks for the comment! I would say that you can use the thermal part together with the GTX part as a jacket itself - I used it myself a lot in this combination. 👌

      @@lequan8766 depends of what you are looking for. In my case, I will never buy a fully GTX jacket for 2 reasons:
      1. If really getting lots of rain it will get humid and cold.
      2. I prefer to wear the rain coat, as it’s adding a layer of pure plastic, that protect me from the cold and the water/humidity.
      In my ride back from Nordkapp, I got lots of heavy rain and 10 degrees Celsius and the rain coat saved my day.
