As an avid reader, I love when I can I discover a fellow BookTuber whose channel introduces me to new works. You have so many great reads here. Their Eyes Were Watching God is one of the best books ever written, for sure. The Vanishing Half was so good. Brit Bennett is a writer I automatically pick up and read. The Mothers by her is also really good. If you enjoyed the topic of passing, you should read Passing by Nella Larson. This book clearly had an influence on Brit. A Thousand Splendid Suns has been on my TBR for entirely too long. I need to read it soon. I'm nervous though because The Kite Runner gutted me. Thanks for sharing!
@MsMalcolmHughes ah omg!!! Thank you so much for your lovely words! I am happy some of these books are also loved by you. I will add the mothers by Britt Bennett. As well as passing. Oh, you must bump a thousand splendid suns to your TBR. And yes, be prepared for the water works. Oh, you're a BookTuber?! Well, I am subscribing to your channel right away! 😊 I look forward to seeing some of your recommendations.
Great book picks. 😊 I’ve been meaning to try something from Sue Monk Kidd. Thank you for sharing some new-to-me titles. I’m a sucker for hard-hitting stories, so everything you selected is in my wheelhouse.
I recently purchased a book titled "Words Without Borders, the world through the eyes of writers" edited by Samantha Schnee. Featuring the work of more than 28 writers from upwards of 20 countries, this collection transports us to the frontiers of twenty-first century literature. Reminded me of your moniker.
I love revisiting Their Eyes We're Watching God over the years. I first read it as a teen, then later in my late 20s when I had lived more life. The experience was quite different once I was older. I read it again recently in my 40's and again loved the story in a different way. I recommend doing the same.
Amazing picks & there are many that I have read also. My Bookclub is reading 'We are all birds of Uganda' this month & am looking forward to the discussion. Am Kenyan so am a bit conversant with the book's storyline because Uganda is our neighboring country.
Loool girl! you need to read it as soon as you possibly can!😁😁 your heart will do somersaults at every chapter. ( Also, I would recommend picking up the kite runner first! It's how you get introduced to the writing of Khaled Hosseini)
I love that you read books about our past… I am about to pick up a few of them… but if you don’t mind can you tell me the title and author of the Congo book reference? I would like to purchase that one… thank you for sharing … new subbie here 🤗(hug of our sisterhood) I really appreciate this video 💚📚❣️
Oh my! I had to rewatch the video again to remember which book I was referring to. I am sure I was talking about the book titled "The History of African Art." Thank you for your support😊 and hugging you back!
Hi there. I see that you are a book reviewer. I'm a new author and I'd like to know what you think of my new book, Quantum Interface. It's an Afro-futurism tale infused with eroticism and adventure. If interested please let me know and I'll send you the PDF
