Fiore friends, don't be sad! I remember well the videos about the volte di spada and the defense from dente di zenghiaro sweep You asked me. I will cover this topics in December :-)
One of the only good vids I could find explaining the obssessio's use. Thank you sir. I've recently gotten into 1.33 and this and your other videos on the subject have been a great help getting a good understanding to move forward with.
The manuscript, from about 1300 in Franconia; shows these fighting positions for study; these are some of the first books on this; here are all the original illustrations showing Priest & Pupil demonstrating these fighting positions for sword & buckler in wikipedia files; really great: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Royal_Armouries_Ms._I.33
Bit difficult to understand ... and for patient people ;) , but after all, really good, well shown, different angles helps a lot and it is obvious you know something about that topic.
Well I'm not really sure of this. Of course this can be a counter but only after having previously bound the opponent's sword (as I show as a counter in the end of the demonstration) and having so cleared the way from my tip that's threatening him inf ront of the face.
The counter to a technique doesn't mean the technique itself is wrong, or it should be only one technique in the manual. A bind on this obsessio (or the obsessio/Schutzen shown versus quarta) is indeed a good counter, but doesn't mean the Schutzen/Obsessio is wrong. Binding and schiltslach is a counter but executed in two tempi, if the one using the Obsessio is skilled, he have all the time to slip away and do a mutatio gladii or, if he is in the correct situation, strike the standard blow.
Medieval Sword and Shield Bill Tsafa yes. Even if now I have still refined the concept and another video will be mandatory. But the general concept is this one, closing the line WHILE you enter the measure and from the position attack in a way which keep the line closed (thrust while opposing the buckler)
@@FedericoMalagutti got it. Thank you. Closing the line and pursuing with a Thrust. If you get a chance check out my channel. I have some interesting stuff about fighting with sword and shield
Good and understandable explanations. The different camera angles really help to understand what's going on.
Thanks for the feeds!

This really helped me understand the concept of obsessio, thank you.
Ciao Federico. I trust you are well? I loved this video; it was excellent to see these obsessio plays in action. Grazie! Saluti!

Thank you very much! Sadly my english improve not as fast as I want, and speaking is still quite hard :)
Very good video with a thorough explanation of the use of Obessios.
I see that your pizza-pasta English is also improving ;)
Keep up the good work!
Thank You very much :) :)
Order your opponent to shiltschlac every single time you enter with your sword and buckler vastly out of center. Might change your interpretation.

Very good video
Does anyone know what sword he is using? I like the wider profile blade and have been looking for a blunt for solo drill work.

@@FedericoMalagutti Thank you!
I'm trying to understand the overall strategy, cover the line of attack and close in...? Pursue if they back out?
