Hi, always enjoy watching your videos even though I do not repair laptops, I do buy dead LED tv's and try to repair them to keep them out of land fill and because of your channel I have been more successful in repairing them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and hope to see more TV repairs.
A huge "thank you" to you Sorin! You do such a great job...thank you for sharing your knowledge and precious time with us - it is sincerely appreciated.
What you trying to say Sorin is ( Mandatory Service Military and you got promoted twice ). i had the same thing in my life it was a wonderful experience life for me as well, i served 3 tours.
Nice to see you here again thanks for another great video and a big thank you for the good comments you are a good example to us all you are a Great person so happy to know you ......... I wish to meet you one day in person
After watching this video, I realized that you can also use hot glue I used to use double-sided glue Thank you for sharing your valuable experiences so that people like me can gain skills
i love your video ,i will watch all of them ,its so relaxing to ,you are a great man and yes you are great ,dont be sad about the guy who say you should not fixing stuff ,your video will be there on youtube for ever and you will help people for long time ,maybe even in 100 years
Thanks for the video. You are right, you can tell which people have been in the military. I'm another old guy with quite a few Army years in the past. Take care of yourself...
This are Anice video Even when I'm Not Trying to Repair my laptop ijust Watch Your Videos, Actually one Of Your videos made me repair my my laptop by self and While the Repair shop Costs were charging me up to 5000 KSH. So I repaired. my Self Thanks To Your Videos
Great job ass always happy to seeing you back only think why you trying to explain yourself it's not needed. Keep up we love to learn from you and this channel is about thank you.
Good repair and I loved it The only thing I don't get in the video is the thing you were melting what is it? But a Guy brought a similar problem to me for repairs. I had to take time on it but was too hard in doing so I use Epoxy Glue mend it on the plastic firmly. That's how i solved it but upon watching your video I can see a different way of doing thanks Sir Sorin for giving us a way out. I will be waiting for the next hinge problem to solve it like you thanks
Hello Sorin, in some time, when the task is too long , that is worth the money to replace de top case, to be sure about the customer agreement too. I like to fix hinges that way too, but this time i gave up and ordered a bottom case for an Acer laptop on the request of the customer too. In my case with Aswo i ordered today, i will get it tomorrow already ... Not cheap anyway, but customer need to understand quality is honor of your store and they worth the money.
Never replace lcd connector with power on it, ok ...you teached me. I just noticed you’re new desk ! Looks proper.
3 роки тому+1
don't get me wrong, i like LTT, i admire NorthridgeFix, i like that dude from AdamantIT, but i feel nothing but pure fucking respect of Sorin. I'm in industry for almost 15 years, but i WISH i had teachers like this in my school teaching electronics, which i has degree of.
I can feel you about the lcd issue, I own and I personally manage my repair shop, and I always explain to my customers to test it first here in my shop, they can test it all day long if they want, but I always, as in always, the moment they step outside my shop, any crack, any fault or misuse of the customer pertaining to lcd replacement job i made has no warranty. Why?? Because, simply we do not know how these people handle their phones. And to that, I do not take responsibility for their own doginess 😁, and so far, I never until this point had any arguments with my customers.
It´s great to have you back. I enjoy a lot all your content. I do some repairs as a hobby, but I was always going the opposite way: trying to go with proper parts and "straight" repairs when possible... it was painfully slow and the results weren´t better (well, they were usually worst, as I am not skilled and have limited knowledge). I wanna thank you because I am learning a lot from watching your channel. Your approach and way to resolve problems are quite refreshing and your explanations about how things work have really helped me to understand a lot of things. I am enjoying my time on the bench a lot since I watch your videos. Finally I´m getting it. Have you ever tried black hot glue. If you haven´t I would suggest giving it a try. I know, it should be the same stuff, but I have found consistent differences in the brands I´ve tried in my country, all in favour of the black one. It feels stiffer and more adhesive, and over time it seems to age better. It might be the same thing that happens with zip ties o tyres, where the black additives are a plus. It is also nicer to hide the crimes if eventually is visible on black devices. I´ve been using always my hot glue pistol, but the next work I will for sure go with the hot air. There are also "high melting temp" hot glues that are amazing when cooled down. Really really stiff. Those go on the expensive side, though, at least where I live.
When I receive an item after it was refunded for non arrival on time, I usually buy another one to the same seller and send a message telling him not to send the item because I already received it.
Hi Sorin, thank you for your refreshing and straight forward reports. I am doing a similar job on a small island in the Philippines. I get always jealous seeing your equipment. Today I had been astonished by your hot glue. Does it really get hard? The hot glue I get here stays always a bit soft. I would have used plastic cement for PVC. Thanks a lot. Have to go back to work. Two death laptops and an ink-jet printer are waiting for wonders. Cheers, Renato
I recently fixed a laptop with broken hinges on both sides and instead of hot glue I used JB Weld. It has worked like a charm and the hinges aren't going anywhere now. I previously tried with hot glue but it just didn't last long before the kid broke the thing again and made it even worse.
Apart from your skills I enjoy you talking of all and everything under the sun + I agree with your comments about the army they should have Nashville conscription brought back again it would be advantageous to the youth of today especially teaching them some respect for all things in life
Broken case - check. Mangled hinge - check. Liquid damage - check! Sorin on the case - priceless! Well done my friend! Our governor in California said "The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!" - lets hope for increased vaccine production/distribution!
I use manual "vintage" screwdriver because is necessary to understand if a screw is too long or if it was already "removed".. also Rossman is using "oldschool" screwdrivers
Hi, You really need a little glue gun to make you tools complete. Only take a few mins to warm up and you can squeeze out how much you want directed at the hinges or whatever. You do all this fantastic work and teaching and i personally have picked up so much from this channel and i hate to see you having to melt glue sticks and all the mess with your hot air gun. Laptops these days seem so thin and cheap and flimsy and breakable and the old clunky ones where at least stronger and generally better constructed if not heavier. Love your channel. Tim from Aust..
I think he uses the hot air to get the glue a little hotter than the temp the guns get up to. I think I remember him saying in a past video. Not sure if some guns get hotter than others though? Maybe a professional gun rather than a DIY type.
You did a good job, but I would have pressed the plastic together on the top piece before gluing so the crack was less visible. Now it is solid but there is a 1mm gap on the top, not looking good. Please next time press the plastic together so there's no gap, then glue it :-)
Sorin ..... When You thought there was only 2 screws to open it Up and you were attempting to Remove Plastics Bottom I was Shouting " There's 3 screws at the front Sorin " lol Cheers for Video Take Care
There are some good videos on youtube where people replace keyboards on these types of laptop. You need to cut off the top of the plastic rivets. Then use a soldering iron to melt the plastic and weld in some new plastic of the same type (ABS?). You could reuse the tops of the rivets you cut out and weld/blend them back into the case plastic. Have seen using a pencil rubber for stamping on the new melted rivets to seal them; you could drill out the end of an aluminium hobby knife you can get at poundland to make a new rivet stamper for the plastic rivet heads? Just some ideas. Anyhow it is possible to replace the keyboards on these types of laptops. If you want to pay them after receiving the item and a refund, just ask their paypal email and send them the money direct via paypal?
I bought a used and non working laptop from an ebay seller last year and it was sent to Minnesota instead of Florida where I live. I messaged the seller and he told me that he had given me the wrong tracking number. So. I asked him where mine was. He said it was on the way and gave me a tracking number( which he had just purchased with a new label). When I received it 2 weeks later, it was the wrong laptop. I again messaged him and he said it wasn't wrong, it was what I had purchased. What I got was a Toshiba in perfect working condition. What I had ordered was a broken Acer. Because he was nasty to me, I kept it and never felt guilty about it. At least I had tried. I ended up with a $250 Toshiba in place of a $29 Acer. I figure the dumb ass got what he deserved due to his attitude. One year later and the Toshiba Tecra is still working fine. Like you Sorin, I try to be honest but sometimes people just won't let me.
When the seller contracts the shipping with an assurance, when the item is refunded who pays is the assurance, not the seller, so it's honets to give the item for free.
He would needed to find a used laptop identical model just for that whole section. Glue would be the best option.. What is the difference between the Hot Glue and Gorilla Glue which I would have used?
We learn to be men. I think the compulsory service for your country was a good thing. Just as life shows us, we examine our workmates. Some workmates are compulsory liars, or are dodgy. You have developed a method to fix broken case laptops that to some might seem dodgy, I do not if the patient, victim, or customer does not return it for 5 years of use it is not dodgy. So the word you are looking for with the military is "reactivated", this is because for personell after service you have 3 years of reserve. You have been trained and can be immediately sent to a world crisis point because of your training you have an "mos", (modus, operandi, service), or what your training is in. Of course a cook can be put in lesser trained positions, like humping artillery, guard duty, etc etc.
Only people whom have had their own businesses know how important it is too pay for the items they get. Everyone thinks that hey they have a business they must be rich ,, ahh the problem they don’t see all the payments ,overhead and financial responsibilities the business owner actually has.
I think is not because army and not only personality. it is just because army was usually done in an age when you are ready to mature and is a big change, that facilitates it. Same could happen with drastic changes/moments along life
Melted plastic on the holes is called "heat stake". Thanks for sharing Sorin. Good to see you again!

I definitivly agree with your 2 people theory. But we all have to get use to it thats the fact.
Nice to see again sir...
Your a very good teacher
Hi Sorin, thank you for your refreshing and straight forward reports. I am doing a similar job on a small island in the Philippines. I get always jealous seeing your equipment.

much less costly and much less painful. ;)

The best serviser Sorin made by romania ( England):-)
God bless you and your family
Someday you will even have a magnetic tray for the screws :)
:)
i am thinking for this in every video :)
Thank you
Great Video , Keep up the good work
Big hi for Christian and for mister sorin
I am so impressed with your knowledge and capabilities. Do you accept laptop repairs from the United States?
New desk? Looking nice
hi Electronics repair school how have you been and god ant it been a long time since i was watching you doing laptop and lockdown and christmas.
you are a great man ☺️
"The sculpture was in the marble before I started to work on it " Michelangelo .
we missed you
Wow this electric screwdriver is just hi tech. I used to work in a laptop service but we used regular magnetic tip philips screwdrivers.
I use manual "vintage" screwdriver because is necessary to understand if a screw is too long or if it was already "removed".. also Rossman is using "oldschool" screwdrivers
Good job! I wonder why you don't drop a drop of oil in the hinge. Easy... and it will always help, even more on cases like this one !
I am your fan. I love it.
Hi, You really need a little glue gun to make you tools complete. Only take a few mins to warm up and you can squeeze out how much you want directed at the hinges or whatever. Would putting vasaline on the hinges help make them easier to open and close?
Im happy i spent extra to get a full metal laptop.
All Respect sorin.
How many here loves and are passionate like this about their job? Raise your hands.....
NO! Not you Sorin!
LOL
one the dodgier hinge jobs you've done, Sorin, but if it holds its a job well done
thanks from ALGERIA
Teacher Sorin. Can you make a video tutorial on how to make a switch to on and off the protective security feature of a Power Supply. Thank you : )
You did a good job, but I would have pressed the plastic together on the top piece before gluing so the crack was less visible. Now it is solid but there is a 1mm gap on the top, not looking good. Please next time press the plastic together so there's no gap, then glue it :-)
You should really get some plastic weld or plastic epoxy, holds up much better than hot glue.
I missed you so much sir
Could you not find a second hand top for the laptop instead of gluing it?
Sorin ..... When You thought there was only 2 screws to open it Up and you were attempting to Remove Plastics Bottom I was Shouting " There's 3 screws at the front Sorin " lol Cheers for Video Take Care
When i replace that type of keyboard i use old soldering iron and melt each plastic :" thingy ", when i reassemble everything.
old school but serious PITA. I do the same thing reluctantly.
i use super glue in gel to stick the new keyboard, work well
need a BIG SIGN that reads, inspects your glass/screen repair because once you leave YOUR responsible for it.
very good
Excellent

some strong epoxy instead of hot glue maybee? Just where need the power.... where the crack is...

Hot glue can be removed if it ever needs further work, Gorilla you can’t.
@@trone32 some gorilla glue expands a little too which can move components as it cures.
