Also, if you have a museum in your city try looking in their online store, it's a great way to help support your local museum instead of just throwing more money at Bezos.
I have the Assyrian chariot wall plaque. It's beautiful! I have it on the wall above a small bookshelf where I keep my books about the ancient Near East, Egypt, and Persia. On that bookshelf I also have a cuneiform tablet (replica of one found in Nippur) and a small lamassu Assyrian sphinx.
Love this episode. One item you can get as a gift for yourself or someone else that's actually real is ancient coins. Of course you need to do your homework and buy from reputable, well established dealers (who give lifetime guarantees of authenticity). But, depending on the condition and the metal used you can pick up coins with your favorite classical figures (Roman, Greek, Carthaginian, etc) even as old as a couple of hundred years BCE for a couple of hundred dollars. Buy a tiny protective coin cover and you can always carry a palpably connected token of your classical hero or muse with you.
A bottle of sand will work for paleontologist, archeologist, biologist, astrobiologist, chemist, physicist, geologist, etc. It is s very versatile gift ;)
The Terracotta Warriors are such a good idea. They would look great guarding something on a shelf. Edit: Yes Prof, we've heard of Ashoka. Some of us got your "what order did they exist" quiz wrong and spent time on Google afterwards. Lol
Some of these are really cool. I've a fan of statues so a lot of those caught me eye. The one thing I'm shocked you didn't have was book gift ideas, maybe you can do another video on that. I've been thinking about getting some books on some of the bronze age empires, but as you know there's so many to pick from.
@@WorldofAntiquity that was my thinking as well, but still think some book ideas might be great. I'm only saying this cause I'm looking for some new books to read 😅
Love all these! Was fun having a look at what you’ve found. Some great stuff! I know it’s not exactly ancient, but I’d love to find a globe of the world post- when they proved it was round, but pre-discovery of Australia. I’m Australian, and something about having a globe with a giant blank spot in it tickles my fancy. 😉
Professor Miano, I wanted to know if you could recommend books on research methods for history, archeology, and anthropology. Also, books for beginners into the field. I would appreciate it.

No wonder I love you. The cats would have all these in fragments by New Years but it's a generous effort on your part. Especially liked the elevator music. Thank you.
Dr. David, are you familiar with the Useful Charts UA-cam channel? Matt's charts include ancient history among dozens of other topics, make great gifts! Love your channel!
Some cool stuff.....I have some similar though I think generally smaller......thanks for sharing.....I think......I can feel my wallet getting thinner already 😲😲🤣🤣👍👍
There are a plethora of posters that depict things like ancient cave art, sample cuniform writing, i found replica oil lamps from canaan, just to add to the list
I really like this kind of video! But it got me thinking I think the pinnacle would be one in where David finds and rates replicas. If any pass I would gladly buy them Never been much for unfaithful "reproductions", which is why I paid quite ridiculous money for a M. Sulowski viking sword, as even the Albion swords had some modern touches. EDIT: And this is not a flex, I'm not rich, I just rather have one faithful accurate object, than a room full of things "in the style of".

Oooo, I love this video so much! I've always really wanted replicas of Mycenaean frescoes in my living room.

Old maps, what a fantastic idea!
Thanks a bunch for the great suggestions here.
I collect ancient Roman coins. It’s so cool to hold something over 2000 years old
It's fantastic you took the time to find all these amazing things, thank you. I will be sending links to everyone in my family for my birthday.
Disclaimer: Not vouching for the historicity on any of these items. 😂
I'm giving a bottle of sand - you never know what creatures trod on these grains. :) LOL

Lots of beautiful art to bring some history home. Thanks for the video. Happy thanksgiving!
My pleasure. I hope it comes in handy!
You inspired in me a search ending with the discovery of Socrates and Diogenes book ends. Thank you!
could you link those please?

I've been thinking about getting some books on some of the bronze age empires, but as you know there's so many to pick from.
Well, I figured that since I do book reviews separately, I would do non-book gifts.

There are several etsy creators that make replica cuneiform tablets. They are of various levels from amateur to museum quality.

Having the statue of Shiva in his Nataraja form is quite popular! Usually you can find bronze ones maybe you can find one on Amazon as well.

It would be extremely funny to buy two statues for aquariums for a friend who doesn't have fish.
Wait, I _am_ an ancient history lover! What a coincidence, let's have a look.
I love every ancient history.

I love your channel. Great content.
Thanks, I appreciate that, Simone!
Thanks for doing the onerous legwork of filtering out the gazillion items blithering on about healing and energy in the Egyptian search!
Fun video, I pretty much wanted everything. I've got a mini stonehenge kit, that you can arrange the stones anyway you want.
There are a plethora of posters that depict things like ancient cave art, sample cuniform writing, i found replica oil lamps from canaan, just to add to the list
You da real MVP, Dr. Miano ❤
Additional recommendation : you can buy replicas of the Royal Game of Ur, and it is actually fun to play.
And other ancient games like Senet and so on of course.
I saw Tom Scott play Ur and it's an amazingly simple game to learn but one that would take years to master. Great suggestion!
how about the Rosetta stone paper weight key chain or the Lascaux cave paintings poster..
I would love to have a Roman style lararium but I have no place to comfortably fit it.
Rip off high prices. I never buy anything expensive and I don't pay bills and taxes.
I get Stargate vibes from that pyramid
Goa'uld design for sure!

I am getting Letters to Lucilius for christmas but this stuff would have been nice too :D
Good stuff ...
Great ideas
This guy looks like a living nerd stereotype and I fucking love it, absolute chad.
Rather cool! Cheers!
This was fun, thanks
This video made me smile. If you could get anything, from ancient history, price does not matter what would you get?
Is that a Tardis on top of your bookshelf there?
Yes, it is!
If we can have neoclassical architecture I don't see why we can't have neoegyptian themed clocks
Nice!
You can't go wrong with the British museum website. I brought the lamassu bookends and I love them
Have to get the Gilgamesh from Toscano!
Everyone is a philosoper
