Dear Wildcampers. It's great to see your film. I have often seen your good words commented toward other great Wildcampers. Please may I take a moment of your time to thank you for sharing the scenery at your brilliant over nighters. I appreciate it. From Craig White.
Hiya Craig, First of all thank you for watching our little adventures. We in the wild camping community like to support each other, so we watch as many of other guy's vid's as we possibly can. The cool thing is it's great for places to go and check out or for advice on buying kit. The Outddoors is where we unwind after the stresses of the working week and it's a great tonic. Keep checking us out, we're always out and about...great to hear from you. Happy Camping...Regards Roger & Diane :):)
Another crackin little gem Roger. Not a city or person in sight....Sorted. lol. Excellent capture of the stars too. The wind was just letting you know that nature was keeping an eye on you both....😉 Nice one mate. Big thanks to you and Diane for the upload.....atb Andy.
Cheers Andy .. was a cracking walk in.. we are so lucky to have this on our doorstep.. Diane wasn't happy with the night lapse but I thought it was alright.. aye and that wind has been serious lately a real pain... so glad you enjoyed the wee ratch.. thanks for taking the time to watch and comment pal.. ATB.. R&D :) :)
Cheers for watching Paul, we love this area, it's so quiet. The night skies are amazing up there, our camera doesn't do them justice really. Just great to be outdoors...love it! Take Care R&D
Great stuff good to get oot and aboot after rotten work. It just gets in the way of the camping like. Nice stars there too. I do wish the wind would do one though. Sick of it now. Looked a very peaceful camp that. Keep them coming. Atb.
Had to dig deep to go straight from graft like, worth the effort though. Great way to start the weekend, nice relaxing camp. Aye work is just something we do in our spare time...lol. Diane and her lapses, she wasn't to happy with the night lapse, i thought it was okay. The wind has been serious, even on the sunniest of days. Take it easy bud...happy camping...R&D :):)
The weather was great, just nice to unwind in the outdoors after a weeks work. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment, much appreciated. Take Care...R&D :):)

Once again excellent footage and interesting comments from the walk. I don't always post on your'e site but i always look foreward to your next walk. Please keep them coming.A1 Andy
Hi Andy, Don't worry if you don't always get time to post a comment, we all have such hectic lives. We try and watch as many vids as we possibly can, but it's impossible to keep up. Thanks for watching and taking time out to comment though, it's very much appreciated. Glad you enjoy our wee adventures...Take Care...Roger & Diane :):)
Another great video guys, it looked very desolate, my kind of place. Enjoyed the night time lapse, I love watching the stars. Shame about the wind but it doesn't spoil the views. Thanks for sharing ATB Ben
Nice and remote, nobody to bother you, bliss... This is the perfect area for stargazing, no light polution at all. Thats a good way of thinking about the wind, the views were great. Also the wind keeps the pesky midge at bay. TFW...ATB R&D :):)
Another great video. That was a really awesome valley. Thanks for sharing your trip. 32 degrees F. here tonight and it's the 19th of May. Still using my winter gear. Take care, Al
Hi Al, Same over here, we're still using winter kit. The transitional period from spring to summer is a slow burner. Lot's of history in this area, very interesting places to explore. Thanks for joining us on our little adventures. Take Care...Roger & Diane
Can't beat a nice cup a on a frosty morning Rodger, nice shot of the primrose by the river, I laughed when you had your brew on then slowly brought the camera up showing Diane in the tent, she looked as if she was going to hide Lol, I love hiking in that retain makes you feel free atb D&C
TFW D&C.. a quick overnighter from work.. and another windy one.. sick of this wind like.. the Ettrick Hills are we believe very much like the Cheviots rolling and green.. we need to get back over there very soon.. ATB.. R&D :)
Hi guys bloody hell you have just raised the bar again that was a corker What a wild place that is fantastic Really enjoyed that you always find somewhere different to take us top marks as per norm Cant wait for your next one bring it on guys lol till next time take care and atvb to you both chris
Hiya Chris, When we are out and about we are on a constant recce, looking for places to have a camp. We cycled through this valley age's ago and logged this little area. Perfect for a overnighter straight from work, nice chilled camp. Thanks for watching...ATB R&D :):)
I remember the Tin cities when I was a kid Roger and the odd ones are still standing mate, What a beautiful place R&D and well suited to Satie, the sun just lit the valley up nice eh, cracking star lapse too, always good viewing, Regards George.
Hiya George, Picked up an old book at a bootsale, and it was all about fixtures and fittings in the late victorian era, fireplaces and the like. At the back were these tin constructions that came in kit form, even a tin church, those guy's could teach us a thing or two, because they are still standing in these rural communities, quality last's. Your knowledge of music is top-notch, i said to Diane whats this Satie? as you know she's the brains behind this....it's the bl##dy music you daft git!...lol. You learn summat everyday...Cheers for watching bud...take care. ATB R&D :):)
Hiya Pete, Great way to start the weekend, nice and relaxing. The SUW has some cracking scenery to walk through, not as popular as some other long distance paths though. Just great to be out, you know the craic...Take Care...ATB R&D :):)
Great views. Wonderful place the Lake District. Our club did a hike around that area for our weekend away. We went around Crummock water one day: one of the best , picturesque walks I have ever done. Got some clips and stills of the Force as well in my video.(set of three if you want a quick look). Old Man of Coniston weather beat us unfortunately but gave me the chance to try adding 'thunder and rain' artificially (just don't tell anybody!). Nice camps you do. Thanks for taking the time. Keep them coming and keep enjoying.
We will check your vids out Terry, thats great you walk in a club. We used to have a group at work and we enjoyed some very memorable trips, sadly people have such busy lives and it came to an end. No shame in turning back if the weather turns foul, those hill's aren't going anywhere, good excuse for a pint and a craic too. Adding sound effects is artistict licence, promise i won't tell a soul...lol. Cheers! for checking out our little adventures...Take Care Roger & Diane :):)
A great video, really well filmed and edited with some beautiful music. No need to apologise for the wind, it happens to us all, sometime there is nothing you can do, its the bane of us youtubers haha Looked like a really great walk and camp :-) Thanks for sharing, Atb Mark
Hi Mark, That damn wind has never ceased, all through the dry spell. Straight from work this one, great way to unwind and start the weekend. Such a quiet area, not so touristy. Diane has modified a foam cover to solve the wind issues, and up to press it seems to be okay. Thanks for watching and commenting...Take Care R&D :):)
Another good video.Oddly enough we were out for the day a few week before in Ettrick. We went down the road to the end of it..surprisingly smooth road too...Had a bit of a recce the spot despite it pouring down.Think the Over Phawhope bothy wasnt to far away from the end of the road along the forest track.Noticed all the signposts that you used to your destination..We then went round to St Marys Loch and saw the old campsite...such a waste the pub and campsite are out of use. The wind always spoils a cracking day though.
Hiya Mark, You were within spitting distance of the bothy at the end of the road. So many great places can be accsessed from Ettrick, this is an area we are both very fond of. The road must be maintained by the forestry comission, it is a grand surface i agree. St Marys Loch is great for a camp, can get busy though. The old Tibbie Shiels pub has a lot of history, such a shame it has closed, taking the campsite with it. That wind has been a pain for age's even on a sunny day the wind has been blowing, better than rain though. Hope your in good fettle and have another ratch planned. Take Care...R&D :):)
Aye its a spot worth returning to,not touristy either..could be a camping or bothy job ..it be decided on the day of course, but the next trip we have is way up north to Skye. The weather has finallt come good.
Nice one guys looked a grand area there & a great pitch.i've always got one eye out for a potential pitch where ever i go walking & you can happen upon some great spots without even looking sometimes.nice star lapse there as well, wind a pain recently wish it would do one,i find with the hero 5 theres always one direction the wind noise is worse when watching back but it can ruin some audio at times..tfs guys til the next one.atb Andy.
Cheers Andy.. TFW pal.. lucky to have this on our doorstep.. aye that wind is a right pain .. Diane has put one of those sponge wind reduction things on the 5 had to modify it a bit as really for the Hero 4 but seems to work well.. hope you've had a fab Bank Hol weekend .. ATB.. R&D :) :)
had a great bank hol cheers.had 4 days up in glenridding bit of glamping with Kerry just a relaxing one.with the exception of the rain Saturday aft weather was great too...is there a sponge wind thing you can buy for the hero 5 or is it something you have used & modified for it.i noticed on this vid you could hear the wind but could still hear you talking quite clearly so it works well...Andy.
Glad you had a great time.. Diane has modified the sponge windshield which is for the hero 4 you can't buy one for the hero 5.. we tested it over the weekend .. and it sounds much better...R&D :) :)
Classical music and poetry it seems right in the outdoors , Erik Satie excellent ! Lovely upload again R & D i need to look at the Southern Upland Way i know its 200+ miles so i would probably have to do it over several trips. Your not getting anymore Hillebergs ? Aye a bit of poetry and classical music, all add's to the mix. The SUW is'nt for the faint hearted at that distance, time off from work would also be a factor. Hillebergs, never say never...lol. You know how fickle us guy's are for new kit. Gotta have some vice, plus it's getting us out of the hoose. Diane loving the Enan, quite like it myself. The Halland 2, that's great, be sure to let us know your thoughts on it. UA-cam is great for getting tip's on what's a good buy, the manufacturers will give you all there jargon and spiel.
