      Things that will once be seen as bizarre mischiefs of our time: full time work, eating animals, one person transported in a car weighing two tons, interrupting sleep each morning by an alarm clock, allowing "games" that consist of commiting mass murder, allowing pornography that consists of degrading women, TV stations systematically dulling people because the sole purpose is to sell products via commercials, etc.

      This one's a classic, reminds me of the movie " They Live" but only it depicts reality and people watched it for the sole purpose of fiction

      Actually, psychological research shows that shooter and other violent kinds of games actually alleviate aggressive impulses in people who are mature enough to play them (8+, 13+, 18+ etc.). And porn doesn´t degrade women, it does a lot of things, but showing women (as well as men) naked really doesn´t degrade all women, at least not in my eyes.

    • @NuntiusLegis
      @NuntiusLegis 7 років тому +1

      Riwillion Games can be benefitial, but not the dumbed down boring shooter crap. Once we had decent strategy games, simulation games, MMOs which required social skill because of a truly persistent world instead of instanced rubbish. - Porn is just people being naked, sure. There is good porn that doesn't degrade women, but it gets harder and harder to find. And the US law not even requiring an effective age verification system to watch that systematical degradation of women is just pathetic.

    • @Riwillion
      @Riwillion 7 років тому

      NuntiusLegis Well, I think there are effective ways of age verification in very few, if any countries over the world. Simply because it is remarkably complicated, it is far easier to allow parental censorship on certain computers. And sorry, but that shooter games are rubbish and other games are not is just your personal opinion, and a wrong one at that. Research has shown various kinds of mental improvement caused by playing shooter games, like faster reflexes, better eye-hand coordination, better reasoning under pressure, and also venting aggressive and/or sadistic tendencies in a non-harmful ways in people who have them. Do your research before jumping to conclusions :)

      Yeah, George Bernard Shaw wrote some great quotes
      “When two people are under the influence of the most violent, most
      insane, most delusive, and most transient of passions, they are required
      to swear that they will remain in that excited, abnormal, and
      exhausting condition continuously until death do them part.”

      Can someone explain this quote?

    • @SovereignSt8
      @SovereignSt8 7 років тому +25

      The quote is actually wrong. I mean Shaw was wrong the way he said it. Most famous quotes are like that. Reason comes to us from the word razor. Therefore the truly reasonable person is he who can dissect and thereby understand any problem - not those who mindlessly conform to situations. Once a solution to said problem is discovered, the reason-wielding maniac may then impose his will upon the world at large - reforming everyone in His own image. Reason is beyond logic - it's logic with a purpose - and it's understanding is apparently lost on even great minds like GB Shaw, but known to whomever created the Joker! (Yes - the Joker is actually reasonable because he's gone mad with rage at the predatory condition that controls society! Everybody else makes believe they can't see it for themselves so he tries to show them.)

A sentient Artificial intelligence may sound science fiction but it wouldnt rule becuase it wanted too but becuase we agreed to let it. We agreed pieces of paper were worth something and use it to run are lives, why cant we do the same with a program that immediately would transcend the knowledge that any one person that governs would have?

      Felix Go for history depending on what you want to do. If you want to be an elementary through high school teacher and major in history, you'll need to do a teaching licensure as well. You can't do much with just a four year degree. If you want to teach community college or at a four year school you need to get a Masters Degree or Ph.D. This is how it works in the United States at least.

    I have been wanting to change the education system for a while now... I just couldn't stop talking about it to everyone I met... but most people (mostly adults) said a version of "life sucks deal with it".... it made me question what I wanted to do... ... they have no faith in me.. and... that's why I started questioning myself... "am I right? What if I'm wrong? Will... my dreams never come true...? I don't want to side with the system!" They started making me question if I could really do anything about it... and now I feel like the only way to get past this wall is to climb over it... I saw a video recently.. it was a little girl talking about what adults can learn from kids.. she said at one point that the kids had great ideas and dreamed big... they didn't think about how hard something was or what stood in their way... they just did it no matter what... for me as well.. i don't like thinking about the barriers... for if there's a will there's a way.. and that's what if been going on my whole life.. I've never met a person that would say (for something like this) to me to go out there sand do it... they wouldn't try to bring my hopes down... reminding me of the barriers.. so many people try to push down ur hopes before u even get the opportunity for them to be let down

    • @Squibbishcrayon
      @Squibbishcrayon 7 років тому +22

      Heinrich Hirsch indeed.. in my mind I have built an ideal system..: there will be basic classes everyone takes called life classes.. it's like the core classes except math teaches you how to pay taxes etc.. and there will be other life classes like how to be kind.. and it will start in kindergarten.. because oh man little kids can be mean.. and all the teachers that will be hired are really nice teachers.. the teachers that are more in tune with the new generation.. so kids can feel comfortable.. not only will there be life classes.. there will also be other classes you can choose.. if u want to be a writer take the class.. if u want to be an animator.. take the class.. etc.. and if ur not sure.. u can try out some classes.. and all the homework (if there even would be) would be from the other classes that u chose.. so u would want to do the homework because it's something love! Hell.. maybe they should even say: go home and have some fun! And no one should be treated equal like the common core forces everyone to be.. and I know that sounds a little weird but not everyone needs the same type of teaching.. and not everyone wants to have the same career.. we do need to take action now... we have to stop thinking about all the reasons we can't change this and start actually doing something.

    • @emocowboy4684
      @emocowboy4684 7 років тому +1

      Squib Cheese 'v' the main problem with having "life" classes is the obvious "what if the child decides to change his career" during our young ages we are so prone to influences that one would change his/hers career choice frequently. Which is why "life" classes is reserved for colleges specified in the field of study one wants to take.
      In my opinion it is not the role of the education board to implement any sort of moral teachings, as morality is an subjective thing to teach and an individual should be able to form his/her own take on how they should treat the world. And even if your systems were to be put in place I'm not even going to mention the strain on the education budget that would take, teachers are already under paid as it is

      RYANimations I'm pretty sure there are no life classes at any point in time while your in school... I could be wrong.. and as I said if they don't know what they want to be yet they can try out all the classes.. and if they want to change what they want to do later they can always take that class... and yes that is true... about the teachers pay.. but currently this is just a thought.. and everyone has the power to make something happen if they really want it to..

    The world needs an educational revolution. Focused on bringing information to as many as possible. The American election shows that this is coming. The Internet is unstoppable, although it seems like many are spoonfed what thoughts to think by the mass media, the human spirit trends towards truth. We are in the age that will have long discussions of changing the world, yet still be unwilling to move. We will discuss what we can do, where we can go, and how we can reach the specific goal we have set, yet we remain stagnant. Instead of going out into the world and making ourselves vulnerable, we will sit at home, discuss the topic of changing the world, and make ourselves feel like we have actually done something important so that we need not enter the hardships of real world changing actions. Knowledge is worthless if one is not willing to apply it to their life.

      TacoMasters Association It is always interesting to watch the hypocrisy of individuals unfold before ones eyes. A man will sit in front of the TV, observe the horrors and problems of the world, state what must be done and why what is currently happening is wrong and yet, he will refuse to change it himself.

    • @ShotTehTrick
      @ShotTehTrick 7 років тому +1

      TacoMasters Association Everyone acts as the person who makes others aware of the tragedies of life and what ought to be done to reverse said tragedies, yet the man who makes others aware is himself unaware that he must make movement towards changing the world. A true man of change is a witness, not a teacher, he himself lives the change he wishes to see. Spurring knowledge into the minds of others is meaningless when the knowledge giver himself is not make the movement of change himself.

      Excuse me, but doesn't it seem a little hypocritical that you're critiquing people who talk, and by talking about people who talk, you're also another person who is talking about changing the world? At least there are people who are talking about it. In order to make a change, there might be a lot of discussion needed! I think you're one step behind the people who are talking. You're complaining about people talking, and still, no change!
      Discussion is the first step to action. If you're not even aware of the problem, you can't take action to change it.
      My friend, what have you done to change the world? And does it seem fair to critique people who would like to make change, but are unsure of how, so therefore they discuss the topic?

    1. Two weeks ago I visited a very beloved friend in Istanbul. She is a Kurdish lawyer and human rights activist. She said that at the moment there are 140 ( hundred and forty! ) lawsuits against her and she could be taken to prison anytime. Despite all this, she goes to her office every day, just to be able to do one more day of work! People who believe that they can make a change, are not "obsessed" with the outcome. They don't expect a reward. The only reward is in knowing that they are doing the right thing. They know that they may never see the fruits of their entire life's work. But they have a sense of dignity, a clarity of mind, an urge to lead a "meaningful" life and serve a noble cause. That's where their strength comes from.
    2. Another person I deeply admire is Bryan Stevenson. An Afro-American Lawyer based on Alabama who, just to mention one of his accomplishments, saved 125 people from death penalthy! He has a speech on youtube called
    " Boldly Going". It is precisely about how to change the world!! His entire life is a wonderful example of everything he tells us to do on that speech. That's why we shouldn't miss it.
    3. In order not to lose motivation in these very depressing times, I have put the following three books in my reading list now, that I wanted to share:
    Hope in Dark Times, by Rebecca Solnit
    The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference, by Malcolm Gladwell
    How to Change The World by John Paul Flintoff
    4. Malcolm Gladwell has a podcast called " Revisionist History". I have heard all the episodes. They are excellent! They definitely give us a sense of perspective and remind us that change happens really " slowly", but it happens.
    If you want to try the podcast, start with the episode called:
    " The Lady Vanishes".
    5. If you are an idealist, you must have the painting Hope by George Frederic Watts always in mind. It is not sure, but they say that Nelson Mandela kept a print of it in his cell in Robben Island...
    6. Friends from Brazil, in these difficult days, it helps to keep Chico always in mind:
    Amanhã vai ser outro dia!
    ( From the wonderful song "Apesar De Você" )
    7. And the song I love the most by Victor Jara is " El Arado".
    Don't miss it even if you don't understand the lyrics.
    But I love the part when he says:
    " Afirmo bien la esperanza
    cuando pienso en la otra estrella
    nunca es tarde me dice ella
    la paloma volará..."

    We can change the world for the better in so many ways I myself want to help my countrey Iran better I lived there for the first 11 years of my life and I can still remember how closed minded people were about america and free speech they thought all of it was a joke none of the Iranian people seemed to think logically when we lost a sports game we thought our race was inferior when we won a sports game we thought our race was superior we never come to realize that it's all work based so I will try to inform the people of Iran the ways of thinking logically and not blindly believing what they are told

    People are too busy reframing everything and perfecting their fake image of self to present to the fake images of the people that they wish to trick into liking them so they can get what they want... (rather than just getting what they want.) and then realising that they don't know what they want because they don't know who they are because they are all fake and so is the feedback they get from everyone they think they know... so it's no wonder they feel separated from genuine change and its processes!

      The fact that the stars, which gave all things in the universe form, will continue long after my planet dies gives me great peace. Maybe life will happen again in the universe. Maybe it already has. Maybe it won't. That's beyond my understanding. The point is that our atoms, our essence of the stars, will never die. They will simply be changed. We all have eternal life. That's better than any religion I've ever encountered.
      I do not let this truth make me lazy though. I have not even a blink of an eye to exist in my current state in the universe, so I won't waste it. I won't give up and submit to living in a world where people and life forms suffer every day. I won't give up on my passions and aspirations in life because I make my destiny.

    • @ChestersonJack
      @ChestersonJack 7 років тому

      That may be true. Or, all of reality may just be a simulation, and you are the only sentient mind. This would literally make you the most important being in the universe, as literally everything revolves around you.
      But we don't know. We can't know if it's one, the other, or anything in between. Once you know that you can never know, that is the path to true wisdom. Once you start giving existentialism the benefit of the doubt, then you can truly be happy. Embrace the hypothetical, for it makes up everything.

My friends said crazy ideas on what they wanted to do, and since I'm concerned that I will always support them I said that it is great and they should keep focusing on it if it's their dream. So I say to everyone who sees this comment, never bring anyone down. No matter how crazy their idea seems to be, support them, becuase it is what makes them happy!

    History is now and you. You cannot ignore the history you are participating in creating or the past that gave us the foundation to build on. Record your thoughts in a diary, paint your life, frame pictures, leave crafts behind and/or give them as gifts, it is how we are remembered. I try to do all of these things, many of which I personally challenged myself to do at levels I never dreamed possible; both with art and literature. At forty I am a writer and an artist. Life changed course very early for me and I thought those dreams would be a remote possibility; until one day I said that change was exactly why I should pursue them anyway.

    I really like the way this clip taught me to fully understand about 'why' first, before we can talk about 'how' in an endless manner. I mean, people are competing to find out how to change the world with what they have, regardless understanding for what objectives essentially do they have to do that. In my humblest opinion, I think, this is why recent so-called-innovations tend to just piling up this world without really giving noticeable impact. I think people have to understand this carefully at the first place, so that we can unite to be a part of a great history of human civilization.

No one had done it. My professor told me "it must be your job and your turn to push that boundary of knowledge for us."

    England is the same. We are tought what to think, NOT HOW TO THINK.

      We know that feeling all too well, but in stronger moments, we know that can't be true - if only because the world so evidently has been altered by the actions of others.

    Anyone can change the world, but changing the world isn't always positive.
    Changing the world could mean making causing World War III, or creating a fascist rule over the world.
