  • Is the new Aprilia RSV4 truly the king of power?
    That is what we want to find out today! We took this beautiful brand new Speed White Aprilia RSV4 to our local dyno, Blais Cycle, and put it to the test! Just how much power is it going to put down?
    The results are actually surprising. The RSV4 put down much more power than we anticipated...
    This leaves us with a lot of work to do to improve that power figure.
    The first step to improving is obviously a new exhaust, so stay tuned for the next episode in the series, because the exhaust is going to be special :)

      As an Aprilla owner, I will tell you that the bike is amazing and stirs up some thing in you when you started and ride it with a proper exhaust. But depending on how you ride, these bikes require regular valve checks. If you ride calmly like a normal person every 12,500 miles. If you’re racing or tracking regularly, probably every 7000 miles. Just keep that in mind.

    Also your comparing the inline 4 BMW to a 65degree V4 which as you know develops power differently. Honestly it’s not surprising, what is surprising is how much Aprilia’s are slept on. I do agree definitely needs a SC, but I also want to ask if anybody in the comments or Manny may know, Ducati’s are V4’s and come standard with a dual pipe setup which makes sense, I’ve often wondered why Aprilia’s only has a single exhaust outlet. I came across 1 aftermarket exhaust setup for an RSV4 that really made it look close to a MotoGP bike, but it’s not at all common. In theory having a dual setup on the Aprilia wouldn’t it allow it to make more power? Really looking forward to see where this goes. Good stuff Manny

    • @Motomillion
      @Motomillion  5 місяців тому

      Thank you. The dual outlets you see on the Panigale V4 models still collect into 1 pipe, and then split back out to 2 pipes.
      Aprilia has been out of the racing forefront (with the RSV4 platform) for a while not, which is unfortuante, so there has not been much developed in terms of exhaust systems and aftermarket parts for the RSV4.

    • @tokyorick79
      @tokyorick79 5 місяців тому

      @@Motomillion Manny I was under the impression from my reading that most development for the road bikes we see and enjoy came from MotoGp where Aprilia is currently one of the top manufacturers in the prototype series. I’m aware of the exhaust setup on both inline 4 and V4, but my question is more to the difference in exhaust setup between Ducat V4 and Aprilia RSV4. Both Moto GP bikes have 1 under tail, and 1 short on the right side, the only bike on the grid without the dual is the R1 (RIP). It translates over to the road bikes for Ducati but not Aprilia, that’s what I’m curious about. But I appreciate your response sir.

    The 217 number is at crank with no transmission, water pump, oil pump, etc
    By dynojet factors my 07 R1 makes more power than this bike.
    But, you wouldn’t buy it if the numbers weren’t higher than last year.
