Ok Chrissie, but you still beat Renee, Martina, Margaret all the rest of the mannish women on the tour throughout the 70's. And you outpowered all of them 🙄
Chris Evert caused a sensation when she admitted to routinely losing matches to her younger brother during the height of her career. Martina Navratilova got whipped by an aging Jimmy Connors in a handicap match in which Connors was allowed only one serve each time while Navratilova's shots were allowed to land in the doubles alleys. And the Number 100 male player in the world (at the time) crushed both Serena and Venus Williams in back to back (non-handicap) matches (6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 respectively).
She said "I've never taken a set off my brother in my life." or something along that line. And her brother was not good enough to enter the men's tour.
As someone who was alive and followed tennis during the height of her carerr, please show ANY evidence that there was a sensation? Otherwise, delete is ridiculous comment.
@@RK-um9tu She made that statement on the anniversary of the King-Riggs match, and was pointing out that Riggs, in his mid-fifties and with a heart condition, ended up losing on that basis. There were certain feminists, Gloria Steinem among them, who could not accept the fact that Evert routinely lost to her younger brother, a high school amateur at the time, and launched what one could call a statement of protest. Okay, perhaps sensation would be a strong word, but there were a good number of activists who were not happy with what Evert said.
Can you post a link to where the three men you mention above started HRT and had serum T levels in a female range for two years before playing those tennis games against those women? Because that's what trans athletes do. If you're going to argue a point, at least argue with facts, science, and in good faith.
Even Richards herself, said that it was wrong for her to have played on the women's circuit now years later looking back and that if she had done so while she was in her 20's or even in her 30's she would have been number #1 in the world....
As it turned out, she did reach as high as Number 20 in the world, though she never won anything above a satellite event. Given the physical degradation and trauma caused by transitive surgery, I am not sure she would have reached Number 1 had she been younger, but her performance and ranking would have been much higher.
@@dakotamadeleinel.1973 Yeah yeah, take out the violin. People have the right to change their names to whatever they want. Names are given by parents, sexes are determined by God or nature or whatever you wish to acknowledge.
It has to be reminded that most current transgender athletes are young (unlike Richards was when he started on the women's tennis tour) and have had only hormonal treatment instead of the full surgery.
They don't want that because the agenda is to change the norm. They want to rule culture, not be included. Until most people realize this, it may be too late.
So true. My husband and I belonged to a Club in NYC. Richards would ask Stan to hit with her, before competitive matches, as there wasn't a female member who matched her ability.

As BJK said, there should be no discrimination until puberty. Once puberty kicks in, then they should be banned from playing.
Compete in the gender you were born in!
This is why I'm against Lia Thomas competing in women's swimming.
The sport did the right thing banning him (her).
Not to worry, "him" is the right word.

Richards actually had a mediocre record on the women's tour and lost routinely to lower ranked players.
