Ngl to draw faces like tatsuki fujimoto you just have to be good at drawing grounded human faces. i feel like the more you look at fujimoto's stuff you realize how grounded his style is, hes just messy. In part 2 and his oneshot look back you realize he just has great fundamentals grounded in reality.
What I love about the fights in CSM is that they're not flashy at all.
They're all rough, scrappy and bloody street fights which usually focus more on brutality and a visceral feeling in general, and Fuji's rough artwork represents this damn well

What I really love about his artstyle is that how brutal and fast csm fights are. You just feel this speed, force and this meat everywhere. Especially when csm devil himself appears. Man... Maybe it's doom fan speaks in me but Goddammit... With mick Gordon ost those chapters is something else

What I think the fights look like is that he draws the locked character, but he makes these lines of movement counteracting the locked character, giving this really crazy feeling of movement. This is how I manage to explain a lock with lines of action he puts one leg straight and the other bent in the other direction at the same time lines of action on the arm and onomatopoeias, it's something very unique what he does gives the feeling of amateurism, but from what I said you realize that he has knowledge of movement and anatomy even if she has this bizarre character very cylindrical and elongated.

I like the sketchy line art from the animation team and Tatsuki Fujimoto. From a technical standpoint it can seem amateurish, but stylistically it makes sense. The sketch style that is used communicates vibration really well. What do chainsaws do? They vibrate. Pause 😶

while i see your point, the notiion of sketch lines seeming amateur is a mindset of over a decade ago. nowadays everyone pretty much understands the choice to use sketchier lines as apposed to clean ones is just a stylistic decision. for example, i can do clean line art as good as the best of em, but you still wont see me doing it tho. cause stylistically, i prefer how the sketchier lines make the artwork look and feel more.
@@ddmarkk Absolutely and I agree. The popular train of thought in the "traditional" art community, from my experience, was that sketchier lines meant you were perhaps unsure in your line art while drawing. The sketchier it was the less efficient you were at capturing the image from your head. They were something to be a guide and then erased. I never fully agreed with this notion either. @@giulyanoviniciussanssilva2947 I don't fully understand your comment 🤔. Allow me to clarify, I'm not criticizing the artwork 🤗. What I'm referencing is that there are artists and academics in other illustrative fields (non-comic specifically) who would identify excessive sketch lines as being "amateurish". Their thought is that the person can't translate the image from their head or eye to the paper efficiently, hence excessively sketchy lines. That's why I said "technical". I think the style is great, and I get the purpose. 🙂💯

Great vid as usual!! Great narration and personality in the presentation. The only shade I'll throw is that you might want to brush up on your Dragon Ball lore. I watched a vid of you with the Saturday AM panel from earlier this year, and you were KILLING me 💀☠ not knowing any of the Dragon Ball fan art character references lol. C'mon dude. That's like being in the car industry but you can't identify a Mustang, saying "I think it's a Ford or something". 😳😭
It's not even a matter of being a fan boy, but heck, the "Big Three" as the fandom likes to call them, ALL of their creators took influence from Akira Toriyama. It is shown in their work and is quoted in their interviews. So, for continuity and yes respect for tradition we got to know the basics. Dragon Ball is not the end all be all but it's also not a trivial piece of work. We're about to have a hip hop style generation battle in anime at this rate. "Tupac was overrated". 😂
